How-To Guide For: My Participant Center

My Participant Center Tools From the Challenge Walk MS homepage, www.mymschallenge.com, go to the Login to My Participant Center section. Enter your username and password to access My Participant Center.

In your Participant Center you can: Create a personalized URL Change your fundraising goal Customize your personal webpage Upload your email address book Send emails to solicit donations and to thank your donors Track emails sent and actions taken Track your fundraising progress Access your team information (only team captains and team members will have this option) Create a personal blog

Creating your personal URL From My Participant Center you can create a personal URL that is user friendly and represents you. Example: http://mail.nationalmssociety.org/goto/janesmith

Changing your personal goal From My Participant Center you can view and change your personal goal. To change your goal, enter your new goal in the new goal box then press update goal.

Setting up your personal webpage Step 1: Select the Personal Page button. Design the look of your page. Font and Color Scheme options. Edit the text and add photos to your page. Step 2: Design the look of your page. Choose a layout template by selecting a template from the dropdown box in #1. To edit the color scheme select a color scheme from the dropdown box below the template box. To change your font click on the style to change your font and color scheme link.

Step 3: Once you open the page for editing, you can customize your page by adding your personal story and photos. All photo images must be JPEG files smaller than 200KB. Step 4: To edit the text on your personal page, click in the text box and begin typing. After you have made your changes, please be sure to save your changes. Step 5: To upload a photo from your computer, click on the browse button to begin your search. After you have selected your photo, click on the upload image button to complete the selection.

Step 6: Set up your personal blog. Use your blog to let friends, family, and donors know how your fundraising and training is going or to let them know about upcoming fundraising events that you are planning.

Uploading your address book Step 1: Select the Address Book button. You can add contacts or upload your address book from Outlook, Yahoo, AOL or a generic CSV file. Go to the address book where your contacts are, export your contacts into a CSV file and save to your desktop. Then click on the Import Contacts link to upload your address book.

Step 2: When you upload your address book, search for the file you just saved to your desktop by selecting the browse button. Once you have selected the file, click the Upload Now button.

If you wanted to add contacts without using an upload function, you can click Add Contacts, where you can enter the person s first name, last name, and email address.

Sending Emails Step 1: Select the Email button. You can customize the templates or draft your own message. Templates Create your own message Note: When using a template please customize your information where needed. Example: <Insert Team Name Here>: Please be sure you are replacing the text with your team s name.

Step 2: From this section you can send emails to potential donors to solicit donations and send thank you emails to those who have donated. Highlight one or more names in the list. Click the add recipients button. Edit Text When using a template please be sure to customize your information where needed. Note: You will have to allow for pop-ups on this screen to preview your email. Hint: Press the control key and click preview at the same time to avoid problems with pop-ups.

Follow-up on your communications Select the Follow-Ups button. This section keeps track of all your communication with your contacts. You can filter your contacts by selecting an option from the drop down box. The To-Do column lets you know if you need to send any reminders, solicitations or thank-you emails to your contacts. This field will automatically populate for you. If you d like to clear the information, click on Clear To Do Flag.

Tracking your progress Select the My Progress button. This section helps you keep track of all your donations. The Gift Summary shows your total fundraising to date. The thermometer will show how close you are to your goal. To help mail Thank You s to your donors click the download list button to get their contact information. The Gift History section will show you a list of all your donors. Note: If you reach your goal, be sure to increase it by returning to My Participant Center and entering the new goal in the new goal field.

TEAM CAPTAINS (Only Available to Team Captains) Step 1: From My Participant Center select the My Team button. From this section of the participation center, you can set up your team s webpage, track your team s progress, update your team s fundraising goal, review and maintain your team roster, send your team a special message and email your team members. Step 2: The Team Summary section shows your Team Name, Team Type, and allows you to set or change your team s goal.

Step 3: Utilize this page to edit text and upload pictures to your Team Webpage. All photo images must be JPEG files and smaller than 200KB. To upload a photo from your computer click on the browse button to begin your search. After you have selected your photo, click on the upload image button to complete the selection. Be sure to save your changes before you log out.

Step 4: The Gift Summary and the Team Progress sections provides detailed information and charts regarding your team s fundraising efforts. Step 5: The Team Roster allows you to maintain a detailed listing of registered team members and their fundraising efforts. From this section you can print your team roster, download the team roster to an outside source, and email individuals or the entire team.

Step 6: Send your team a special message that will appear when they login to their Participant Center. From the My Participant Center screen, on the right hand side there is a section titled My Team. Write a special message to your team and press the Update Message to Team Button. Every time one of your team members logs into their Participant Center, they will see your message. Enter message here Update Message to Team
