What this Document Contains The 1336 and 1336VT drive uses two firmware chips that will determine the function of the drive. The 1336 Microprocessor Firmware Identification Table indicates the presence of various functions based on the revision of firmware chip sets that are present in the drive. Use this table and the accompanying notes to determine the drive functions available for various combinations of firmware revisions. To determine the firmware revisions, two microprocessor chip version/part numbers must be determined by physical inspection (except for version 2.01). One microprocessor is located on the control board of the drive. The other microprocessor is located on the base driver board of the drive. Table otes Function otes 6 1. Where the table has entries only for the control or the base driver, only that microprocessor determines the functionality. 2. Where the table has entries for both the control and the base driver, both microprocessors must be present to get the function. If either microprocessor is of a version that does not allow the function, the function is not present even if the other microprocessor indicates that the function is present. 1. Parameters 1, 2, and 3 are displayed in the local programming mode. Parameters 1, 2, and 3 are drive output parameters that exist only when the drive is running. These parameters cannot be programmed and are a value of 0 (zero) when the drive is stopped. Only 1336 Control version 1.01 firmware displays these parameters at the Local Programming and Display Panel on the drive when in the programming mode. All other versions of firmware skip over these parameters since they are not programmable. 2. Parameter, Last Fault A. Fault Code F0 Undervoltage Fault. Only 1336 Base Driver version 1.01 firmware has an undervoltage fault trip level of 56V DC (for 60V input drives). All other base driver versions of firmware use 388V DC for the fault trip level. Firmware version 1.01 was replaced with later versions by the time the 1336 drive with 575V input was introduced. The trip voltage for the 575V drive is 85V DC. B. Fault Code F06 Motor Stalled. Only 1336 Base Driver version 1.01 firmware has a motor stalled timing level of 10 seconds. All other base driver versions of firmware use (four) seconds for the timing level. The motor stalled time begins when the drive exceeds 150% of its rating and must stay above 150% during the timing. Most overload conditions result in a reduction of the overload current to under 150% within this time due to the action of the drive MOPC circuit or a reduction of the overload. C. Fault Code F0 Pot Return Open. This fault code is not available in the 1336 Control firmware version 1.01. All later versions of firmware have this feature. D. Fault Code F11 Operator Error. This fault may occur if Parameter 20 maximum Volts is programmed to be less than Parameter 18 Base Volts. The 1336 Control firmware version 1.01 will compare the value of Parameter 18 Base Volts and parameter 20 Max Volts. If Max Volts is a lower value than Base Volts, a condition of egative Slope is detected. egative Slope is a condition where the output voltage is to decrease as output frequency increases. This is unsuitable operation and will be avoided by generating the F11 fault when detected. All

later versions of the 1336 firmware and all versions of the 1336VT firmware operate differently. Parameter 20 is used as a value to limit the output voltage in any mode of operation. Even if Base Volts is set to a larger value, the drive will control the output voltage based on the value of Base Volts up to the value of Max Volts. This avoids the egative Slope condition and the F11 fault will not be generated. Fault on Improper Start Sequence. The 1336 and the 1336VT drive requires that the STOP input be cycled after any programming of the drive. Also, depending on the setting of the drive parameter 1, cycling of STOP input is required when the drive is powered up and when a fault is cleared. 1336 drives with control version 1.01 firmware will not start nor will they display a fault if a START is attempted under the above conditions. 1336 drives with control versions above 1.01 and all 1336VT drives will not start and display a fault code F11 if a START is attempted under the above conditions. E. Fault Code F1 Precharge Open. This fault code is not available in the 1336 Control firmware version 1.01. All later versions of firmware have this feature. F. Fault Code F33 through F36. These fault codes are available in firmware version 2.01. The control firmware must be version 2.01 and the base driver must be version 3.01 to produce these codes. If either firmware version is earlier than 2.01/3.01, these faults may not be detected. 3. Parameter 7 Accel Time 1 1 (one) second 1336 and 1336 VT drives with control firmware versions prior to version 2.01 can be programmed for a minimum accel or decel time of 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware 1.01 have an additional limitation of accel and decel rates no faster than 60 Hz per second (0 to 60 Hz in one second). If the drive Max frequency is set higher than 60 Hz, the drive will accelerate to max speed in a proportionately longer time even when the time was set to 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware versions 1.10 and above and all 1336VT drives can accelerate to maximum speeds above 60 Hz in one second. Programmable to 0 (zero) seconds. 1336 and 1336VT drives with control versions of 2.01 can be programmed to a minimum time of 0 (zero) seconds. This capability requires the control version to be 2.01 and the base driver to be 3.01. If either version is earlier than 2.01/3.01, the time will be limited to what was available in the earlier version. 7

. Parameter 8 Decel Time 1 (one) second 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware version prior to version 2.01 can be programmed for a minimum accel or decel time of 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with a base drive firmware 1.01 have an additional limitation of accel and decel rates no faster than 60 Hz per second (0 to 60 Hz in one second). If the drive Max frequency is set higher than 60 Hz, the drive will decelerate from max speed in a proportionately longer time even when the time was set to 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware versions 1.10 and above and all 1336VT drives can decelerate from maximum speeds above 60 Hz in one second. Programmable to 0 (zero) seconds. 1336 and 1336VT drives with control version 2.01 can be programmed to a minimum time of 0 (zero) seconds. This capability requires the control version to be 2.01 and base driver to be 3.01. If either version is earlier than 2.01/3.01, the time will be limited to what was available in an earlier version. 5. Parameter DC Boost Select Programmable to 12. The DC Boost Select parameter is limited to a maximum value of 11 for all control board firmware versions prior to 2.01. Version 2.01 firmware added this new feature. To permit this feature, the control firmware versions must be 2.01 and base driver must be 3.01. If either firmware version is an earlier version, Parameter will be limited to the value of 11. 6. Parameter 15 Parameter 15 is not defined and has no effect. 7. Parameter 30 Accel Time 2 1 (one) second 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware version prior to version 2.01 can be programmed for a minimum accel or decel time of 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware 1.01 have an additional limitation of accel and decel rates no faster than 60 Hz per second (0 to 60 Hz in one second). If the drive Max frequency is set higher than 60 Hz, the drive will accelerate to a max speed in a proportionately longer time even when the time was set to 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware versions 1.10 and above and all 1336VT drives can accelerate to maximum speeds above 60 Hz in one second. Programmable to 0 (zero) seconds 1336 and 1336VT drives with control version 2.01 can be programmed to a minimum time of 0 (zero) seconds. This capability requires the control version to be 2.01 and base driver to be 3.01. If either version is earlier than 2.01/3.01, the time will be limited to what was available in the earlier version. 8

8. Parameter 31 Decel Time 2 1 (one ) second 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware version prior to version 2.01 can be programmed for a minimum accel or decel time of 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware 1.01 have an additional limitation of accel and decel rates no faster than 60 Hz per second (0 to 60 Hz in one second). If the drive Max frequency was set than 60 Hz, the drive will decelerate from a max speed in a proportionately longer time even when the time was set to 1 (one) second. 1336 drives with base drive firmware versions 1.10 and above and all 1336VT drives can decelerate from maximum speeds above 60 Hz in one second. Programmable to 0 (zero) seconds 1336 and 1336VT drives with control version 2.01 can be programmed to a minimum time of 0 (zero) seconds. This capability requires the control version to be 2.01 and base driver to be 3.01. If either version is earlier than 2.01/3.01, the time will be limited to what was available in the earlier version.. Parameter 37 Baud Rate Bulletin 1336 drives with control firmware version 1.01 are limited to a rate of 200 Baud and parameter 37 is not functional. All later versions of the 1336 control firmware and all versions of the 1336VT control firmware may be programmed by parameter 37 to either 600 or 200 Baud. 10. Parameter 38 Overload Current. Bulletin 1336 drives with control firmware version 1.01 are limited to a maximum overload current setting of 100%. All later versions of the 1336 control firmware and all versions of the 1336VT control firmware are programmable to a maximum overload current setting of 115%. 11. Parameter 0 Power Fault. Parameter 0 permits the programming of the fault indication F03 Input Power Loss. When programmed to 0 (zero), the DC bus is monitored and a time is used to detect the loss of input power. To start the timer, the drive must sense that the DC bus has dropped to 85% of its nominal value. Bulletin 1336 drives with control firmware version 1.01 use a timer value of 500 milliseconds for the fault condition. All other 1336 control versions and all 1336VT control versions use a timer value of 200 milliseconds. ote: The timer does not start until the bus voltage drops to 85% of its nominal value. The time to discharge the DC bus from 100% to 85% must be added to the timer to determine the actual time between the loss of power and the fault F03. Even with the later versions of firmware with the 200 millisecond timer, the nominal overall time of fault is approximately 500 milliseconds.

12. Parameter 1 Motor Type This parameter was not available in the 1336 control firmware version 1.01. All later 1336 and all 1336VT control firmware versions have this function. 13. Parameter 2 Slip Compensation. This parameter was not available in the 1336 control firmware versions 1.01 and 1.10. 1336 control firmware version 1.11 and 1336VT control firmware version 1.01 limited this parameter to a maximum value of 3.0 Hz. 1336 and 1336VT control firmware version 2.01 extended the maximum value to 5.0 Hz. 1. Parameter 8 Start Boost 1336 Control firmware version 1.01 and 1.10 do not permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel. Access is permitted only through a device connected to the drive serial port. 1336 Control firmware versions 1.11 and above and all 1336VT control firmware versions permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel as well as the serial port. 15. Parameter Break Frequency 1336 Control firmware version 1.01 and 1.10 do not permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel. Access is permitted only through a device connected to the drive serial port. 1336 Control firmware versions 1.11 and above and all 1336VT control firmware versions permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel as well as the serial port. 16. Parameter 50 Break Volts 1336 Control firmware version 1.01 and 1.10 do not permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel. Access is permitted only through a device connected to the drive serial port. 1336 Control firmware versions 1.11 and above and all 1336VT control firmware versions permit access to this parameter through the local programming and display panel as well as the serial port. 17. Parameter 70 Base Driver Firmware Version All 1336 and 1336VT drives with control or base driver firmware prior to version 3.01 do not define this parameter. This parameter only indicates the firmware version of the base driver board. The control firmware must be version 2.01 and base driver must be 3.01 to obtain this parameter. 18. Parameter 71 Control Firmware Version 10 All 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware prior to version 2.01 do not define this parameter. This parameter only indicates the firmware version of the control board. The control firmware must be version 2.01 to obtain this parameter.

1. Parameter 72 through 8 All 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware prior to version 2.01 do not define this parameter. On 1336 and 1336VT drives with control firmware version 2.01 and base driver firmware version 3.01 these parameters are functional. Both the control and base drive firmware must be version 2.01/3.01 to obtain these parameters with the exception of 81. 20. Remote Speed Pot Deadband Reduced The 1336 and 1336VT drives have a low voltage offset or deadband in the remote speed pot circuit. This deadband assures that the drive can reach 0 (zero) speed (or Min Speed) even when the speed pot is located a long distance from the drive and there is the possibility of a voltage drop developing on the Pot Low wire between the drive and the pot. Bulletin 1336 drives with control firmware version 1.01 or 1.10 have a larger deadband than later versions. 1336 drives with control firmware versions 1.11 and 2.01 and all 1336VT control firmware versions have a smaller or reduced deadband than previous firmware versions. 11
