Getting Started! Overview Extension Features Add Banner Images On Categories Magento Category Slider extension allows you to add multiple banners to enhance customer engagement and revenues. Select either Nivo or JSSOR banner slider to configure transition effects of banner images. You can add links to images that direct customers to product pages. With flexible settings for banners and slider types, the user experience can be enhanced further. Add multiple banners and display them on a category to increase relevant traffic to products and boost revenue. Nivo Slider JSSOR Slider Nivo Slider adds attractive transition effects to the banners you upload, which makes the slider more alluring. You can also select JSSOR Slider for enhanced effects and attractive looks of the category page. Add Link On Banners Flexible Banner Settings You can add links to banners so that customers can visit a page associated with the offer, deal or promotion. Configure settings to set width and height for the banners, and show content and title as well. User Guide After installation of module, make sure the setup is upgraded and static-contents are deployed. Login to admin panel and flush you Magento cache storage. I. How to Add/Edit Banners: Step 1 Go to Manage Banner: At the backend go to Manage Banner. You can go there from Admin Panel > FME Extensions > Category. Click on Add Banner to continue. Step 2 Fill the Required Information: Here you will have to fill your Banner information. For the purpose of this demo we have added the following information. 5 User Guide www.fmeextensions.com
Step 3 Set Categories: Here you will have to select the category for your banners. For the purpose of this demo we have select the following. Step 3 Frontend: Now at the frontend your Banner will appear as the following. You can always go back and edit this information. 6 User Guide www.fmeextensions.com
II. How to Configure the Extension: At the backend, go to Admin Panel > FME Extensions > Category Banners > Configration. Here you will have access to the following configurations: Categories Banners Settings: 1. Enable Categories Banners 2. Slider Type: If you select Nivo Slider please set the settings of (Nivo Slider) below 3. Banner Width: Best width with default themes (1-Column (900), 2-Column (675) 4. Banner Height: Best to set according to your banners height 5. Show Banner Content: Show content with Banners or not 6. JSSOR Slider Settings: 1. Auto Play: Whether to auto play, to enable slideshow, this option must be set to true, default value is false 2. Auto Play Interval: (in milliseconds) to go for next slide since the previous stopped if the slider is auto playing, default value is 3000 3. Pause On Hover: Whether to pause when mouse over if a slider is auto playing, 0 no pause, 1 pause for desktop, 2 pause for touch device, 3 pause for desktop and touch device, default value is 3 4. Slide Duration: Specifies default duration (swipe) for slide in milliseconds, default value is 500 5. Drag Orientation: Orientation to drag slide, 0 no drag, 1 horizental, 2 vertical, 3 either, default value is 1 (Note that the $DragOrientation should be the same as $PlayOrientation when $DisplayPieces is greater than 1, or parking position is not 0) 8 User Guide www.fmeextensions.com
Nivo Slider Settings: 1. Effect: Specify sets like: 'fold,fade,slicedown,random 2. Slices: Number of slices (15,20,25,30...) 3. Slide transition speed 4. Pause Time 5. Buttons: Normal Hide Next-Prev Buttons on images and Show on Hover (If you set that to No Button are visiable all time)? 6. Show Navigation: 1,2,3 7. Caption Opacity: Universal caption opacity 8. Pause On Hover: Stop animation while hovering(true,false) 9. Theme: Theme For Nivo Slider Disclaimer It is highly recommended to backup your server files and database before installing this module.
