1 OVERVIEW You can use Windows Agent Console to centrally manage Agents and plug-ins for backup and recovery operations. Windows Agent Console 7.10 is intended for use with: - Windows Agent 7.10 and plug-ins - vsphere Agent 7.02 - Earlier Agents and plug-ins Windows Agent Console provides context-sensitive help for many screens. 3 INSTALLATION NOTES 3.1 Installation Requirements These are the installation requirements for the Agent Console program: Hardware -------- - CPU and RAM - should meet the minimum requirements of your operating system - 60 MB of available disk space Software -------- -.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 - A TCP/IP stack (to communicate with Agent systems) 3.2 Conditional Requirements Agent software must be installed on every computer that you back up, and configured using Agent Console. See the Agent Console Operations Guide for detailed information. This guide is available from your service provider. For Agents 6.90 and later, Windows Agent Console also connects to the BUAgent. This means that you need to provide an additional port for the Agent connection. For Agents 6.90 and later, the default port for the BUAgent is 8031. If you use the default ports, Windows Agent Console will automatically detect the BUAgent port to use. If you use custom ports, you will need to provide another port for the BUAgent. 3.3 Licensing You do not require a license to use Windows Agent Console. You can create a backup job without a license, but you will get a warning message. Without a valid license, the backup will not run. For more information about licensing, speak to your service provider. 3.4 Installing/Uninstalling/Upgrading The Windows Agent Console installation kit includes: - Windows Agent Console application - Online help files The default file name for the installation kit is: AgentConsole-7-10-1714.exe

4 FIXES and KNOWN ISSUES 4.1 Fixes The Windows Agent Console installation now checks whether.net Framework 3.5 SP1 is installed. (23333) 4.2 Known Issues Windows Agent Console sometimes becomes unresponsive when you try to browse for virtual machines in large vsphere environments. WORKAROUND: Windows Agent Console can now be configured to allow browsing for virtual machines in large vsphere environments. For more information, contact your provider. (23550)
