How to setup WL-WN575A2/WL-WN575A3 Repeater Mode through Ethernet Cable The following setup procedure is for INITIAL SETUP. If your product has been configured before, we suggest you to RESET the product (Please refer to HOW TO RESET WL-WN575A2 / WL-WN575A3 for instruction) then follow the steps as bellowing. 1. Power On 1.1 Make sure POWER SWITCH of the product is placed at OFF. If not, please slip to OFF for your safety. 1.2 Make sure MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH is placed at REPEATER (Figure 1). If not, please slip to REPEATER. Figure 1 1.3 Plug the product into a power socket. ( To setup the product easily, smoothly and successfully, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND you place the product NEAR BY your Router or AP). 1.4 Slip the POWER SWITCH to ON 1.5 Wait until the POWER indicator is ON and the lowest WiFi indicator is FLASHING 2. Connect to the product 2.1 Insert one end of Ethernet cable to you PC network port and the other end to LAN port of the product.
2.2 Power on your PC, the LAN indicator of the product will be ON. 2.3 Click icon on your taskbar, then Figure 2 shows up at your screen right bottom corner. Figure 2 2.4 Click Open Network and Sharing Center, Figure 3 will show up. Figure 3 2.5 Click Local Area Connection (Figure 4).
Figure 4 2.6 Click Details to check your IP address is 192.168.10.X and IP Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0, similar to Figure 5. Figure 5 2.7 If your PC s IP address is similar to Figure 5, please skip to 3.1. Otherwise, please click
Close, then Properties (Figure 6). Figure 6 2.8 Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically as Figure 7 shows, then click OK. Figure 7 2.9 Repeat step 2.6 to check your PC s IP address has been configured correctly.
3. Configure 3.1 Launch a WEB BROWSER, such as Microsoft IE, Google Chrome or Apple Safari. 3.2a Type http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar then Enter (refer to Figure 8). Figure 8 OR 3.2b Type http://ap.setup in the address bar then Enter (refer to Figure 9). Please make sure you type in http://ap.setup exactly, not ap.setup. Because some browse assume ap.setup to a Keyword instead of domain name. Figure 9 3.3 You will be prompted as Figure 10 to Login Web Management. Please input admin as user name and password, then click Login (refer to Figure 11). Figure 10
Figure 11 3.4 Once you logged in web management, Figure 12 shows up. If you want to change login password, please click OK to change your password (refer to How to Change Password), otherwise, please click Cancel. Figure 12 3.5 To setup parameters of Repeater mode, please click Repeater Wizard (Figure 13). Figure 13 3.6 As Figure 13 shows, you can find some WiFi signals around the product indentified as
SSID. Please select the SSID of router/ap you want to repeat. Then input the password into Wi-Fi Key if necessary and click Apply (Refer to Figure 14). The password here is the PASSWORD of your target router/ap s access code. Figure 14 If you can t find the router you want to repeat, you can scroll the Scroll-bar or you can click Refresh to refresh WiFi list. 3.7 Once you click Apply you will be prompted to restart the product as Figure 15. Figure 15 3.8 Once the restart complete, you will be prompted to click Back as Figure 16 to check the
status of repeater. If you login the web management by IP address, you may not login the repeater again. It because if repeat successfully, the IP of the product has been changed by your router/ap. Please try 3.2b to login. Figure 16 3.9 As Figure 17 shows, if you configure the product correctly and repeat successfully, the status will be Connected. Figure 17 If the status is Scanning, please wait a moment. If the status is Disconnected, please check whether there is special characters in your router/ap s SSID, such as *, #, /, -,,, SPACE etc. If yes, please delete them from your router/ap s SSID.
4. Relocation 4.1 Please power off the product and unplug from power socket. 4.2 Plug the product in the middle of your router/ap and your WiFi dead zone, then power on the product. 4.3 You will be noticed by WiFi indicator light green not flashing. To leverage the coverage and performance, we strongly suggest you to place the product where 2 WiFi indicators light green. If WiFi indicator isn t ON, maybe the product is out of your router/ap s signal coverage. Please try another position where is closer to the router/ap.
