The installation is easily and quickly done, by simply clicking Next or Install in each step, see the following figures. 1 2 3 4 Figure 1 2 Start the Tool It s recommended that the tool is started in the following method: On ElecRoc Client, under the 1-Bit Tiff Export node in your job, choose and right-click your job file (or one or more separations of your job) in the input file queue and choose the short-cut menu item Open in RealDot Viewer, and then you can start up the tool. Note: This tool can also be started by double-clicking the short-cut icon RealDot Viewer on your desktop. And in this case, you can open your tiff file for view by choosing the main menu File > Open File, or clicking the toolbar icon. 1

Figure 2 The main window of the tool is then displayed, see the following figure, and the tiff file will be opened as well. 3 Use the Tool This tool is designed for you to view the tiff file generated by ElecRoc s 1-Bit Tiff Export processor or standard 1-bit tiff files exported by ElecRoc or third-party applications. Figure 3 2

3.1 Image View By default, every time you open a tiff file, you see the image view at first, see below. In the leftmost area of the window, the checkbox in front of the separation list controls which separation(s) is to be viewed. Only the ticked separation(s) is displayed. Thus a full separation view can be enabled by ticking all the boxes, and if needed, any combination of separations can be viewed as well by ticking only the one(s) you want to view. Figure 4 For viewing part of the separations, you may also choose only the ones you want to view at the time you open the tiff file. Figure 5 3.2 Bitmap View To view the screened bitmap, perform as follows: 3

1. Click the toolbar icon, and you will see a small and blue rectangle appearing on the preview image, as shown inside the red rectangle below. Figure 6 2. Move the small blue rectangle to the area where you want to view the bitmaps, and then double-click your mouse button. 3. Now you see the bitmap view, see the following figure. In this view, you can use the toolbar icons / to zoom in/out the view. The icon enables you to restore the display proportion to 1:1. Figure 7 When you have opened both the image and the bitmap views, by clicking the toolbar icons /, you can align the two views in two modes, the following figure shows an example of vertical alignment. To switch the view between them, just click the tab at the bottom of the window. 4

Figure 8 3.3 Calculate Frequency & Dot Percentage In the bitmap view of only one separation, you can easily perform two calculations. Check the toolbar icon. Then click your left mouse button on the bitmap, hold and move the mouse to include a line of dots. Release the mouse button and you see the dots frequency (LPI) on the rightmost area of the window. The distance and angle of your mouse movement are displayed as well. Figure 9 Check the toolbar icon. Then click your left mouse button on the bitmap, hold and move the mouse to include an area of dots. Release the mouse button and you see in the rightmost area of the window the width, the height and the dot percentage of that area. 5
