By pressing a soft key, or by pressing the center of the joystick, you can select the feature shown directly above it on the display. {C}, {MENU}, {REDIAL}, and other additional functions are assigned to the soft keys. Pay attention to the display to see what functions the soft keys are assigned during handset operation. Temporary switch of the display mode You can select to display either a single item or multiple items on one screen at a time for the following features: menu list, phonebook list, caller list, redial list, message list, and call block list handset top menu icons in function menu The following icons are shown when you press down on the center of the joystick in standby mode. Why is the conversation noisy or cutting off? Can I add another accessory handset to my base unit? Can I keep the batteries charging all the time? How can I answer a call waiting call (2nd call)? Cause/solution LThe handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. LThe base unit s AC adaptor is not properly connected. Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit. LYou are using the handset or base unit in an area with high electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the handset away from sources of interference. LThe handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it. LPush the joystick up repeatedly while talking. LTry to relocate the base unit so that the distance to the handset is minimized. LIf the same problem occurs even if the handset is next to the base unit, call Panasonic customer support at 1-800-211-PANA (1-800-211-7262). LYes, you can add up to 6 handsets (including the handset(s) sold with your base unit) to a single base unit. Place the handset on the base unit, then check if Charging is displayed. Charging is not displayed. Charging is displayed. Unplug and then plug AC adaptor properly to both the base unit and AC outlet. Charging is displayed, now. Charging is still not displayed. Lift the handset, then try again. If handset still shows the same message, try to re-register the handset. Re-registration failed. Unplug the AC adaptor of the base unit and remove the batteries from the handset, then plug in the AC adaptor and insert the batteries into the handset again. Try to re-register the handset. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit, re-register the handset.
