Figure 1. BI:Scope Report Display Figure 2. Print Preview Presentation + Integration + Extension delivering business intelligence BI:Scope is a web enabled, rich client, Report Deployment product for business intelligence reports. BI:Scope uses provider technology, enabling it to interact with various business intelligence reporting sources and present them in a consistent view for the user. BI:Scope integrates with CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy from Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA). BI:Scope report smart presentation features are specifically designed to display large reports. Features like window zoom for full screen report display, locking facts and dimensions for easy scrolling, and searching a dimension for a value, show BI:Scope is not just a report in a grid. BI:Scope provides high-quality printing with print preview, scaling and fit-to-page, headers and footers with corporate logos, and report striping options, that can make even the largest report print in a usable format. BI:Scope content smart integration add-ins allow you to add new features that respond to report selections. The BI:Scope ReportFlow add-in allows you to logically link reports to support a business process, making information investigation simpler. BI:Scope is a rich client that uses thin client design standards. BI:Scope uses XML technology and is server centric, so it is scalable, network and browser friendly. Report presentation uses on-demand paging to limit network traffic, and prevent client overload. Server processes are multi threaded, and employ caching and data streaming to minimize server resource impact and maximize throughput. BI:Scope requires Zero Administration for release upgrades, with optional client side caching for reduced network traffic and improved user response times. M87systems Corporations, BI:Scope version 1.0 has been certified ca smart with CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy versions 5.75, 5.76, 5.77, 5.8, 6.0, 6.01 and 6.2. Core Functionality Report Smart Presentation BI:Scope features are specifically designed for superior report presentation. BI:Scope provides a window zoom feature that allows users to detach the report display from the browser, to a separate window that can be resized and maximized for full screen display. First row filled, displays all row headings dimension values on th first row, so you can see all values while scrolling long reports. Reports are displayed one section at a time. You can lock rows and columns in the report display to easily navigate large reports. Report Search can be used to search facts or dimensions for values. BI:Scope gives you full control of the report presentation. You can interactively apply formatting to the report by applying a basic style, insert lines, and text, use calculation and conditional formatting, and best-fit columns widths. You can format reports with images, and create traffic light and action reports for high quality presentation. Report Filtering allows you to hide rows and columns in the report. You can use complex rules to filter report contents, allowing you to analyze report results, and recognize patterns. BI:Scope enables clients to print directly to locally attached and network attached printers. Clients can print preview their reports before requesting hardcopy, scale the reports for printing and use the fit-to-page feature to fit all report columns on a single page. You can format the report with custom headers and footers, including corporate logos. When printing reports, users can specify page breaks on sections, repeating column headers and repeating row headers for extremely wide reports that result in striped output across many pages. Users can print colored reports in black and white and use print shading. BI:Scope displays the report description and allows you to define a custom help for a report. Use this feature to display a static HTML document, or run a procedure to query your repository and build a description. Integration and Extension BI:Scope allows you to work with the report information. The clipboard is supported, including a Data Table copy feature appropriate for pivot tables. Report Transfer allows you to download the current report in various file formats including Microsoft Excel 97 and text formats for Microsoft Access, and other applications. BI:Scope adds report sorting to CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy WebOlap reports, which can be sorted by facts or headings. BI:Scope supports content smart integration add-ins that are developed using Java and can access information about the current report and selections the user has made on the report display. Existing Java applications can easily be converted to BI:Scope add-ins and then run from the browser. Use add-ins to provide custom reporting features, create new reports or integrate report data with other applications. The BI:Scope ReportFlow add-in provides users with an analysis path for a common business function. Analysts can define rules that BI:Scope ReportFlow uses to decide what report makes sense based on the selected information in the current report. Using BI:Scope ReportFlow, a user could be looking at a sales report, highlight a product code and then flow to a promotions report for the selected product code. BI:Scope ReportFlow allows clients to run reports in the background, sending them an Alert when the report is complete. The BI:Scope Scheduler add-in provides access to the CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy background scheduler. Users can display the status of jobs, and cancel their own background jobs. The BI:Scope ReportFlow add-in, and our BI:Prompt product support background execution of WebOlap reports. M87systems Corporation Page 2 http://www.m87systems.com

Features and Benefits Zero Application Administration BI:Scope requires no administration for new release upgrades. Install an updated version of BI:Scope on your server, and your clients will automatically use the upgraded version. Optional automatic intelligent code caching can be used to prevent unnecessary code downloads, reducing network traffic, and improving client performance. Feature Administration BI:Scope offers administrators several features for customizing BI:Scope installation such as limiting the report functions available to users while displaying reports, setting defaults for report styles and selectively deploying BI:Scope to groups of users or individuals. BI:Scope with the CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy Provider uses the same infrastructure components as CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy to provide a familiar and consist feature administration environment. Report Smart Presentation BI:Scope is specifically designed for large report presentation. BI:Scope uses section at a time presentation, and ondemand paging, so even the largest reports can be displayed without overloading the client, or the network. Using the window zoom, clients are given a fully resizable window to allow them as much presentation space as they need. Analysts are free to design complex web pages like dashboards, and allocate a small space for report display, without impacting the client s ability to see the report. Reports can be designed with content in mind as clients can freeze the display for scrolling, and use Report Search to find information they are interested in. BI:Scope provides interactive formatting, so clients can format their own reports, and apply their own exception formatting. Report calculations can be formatted into traffic light and action reports for executive dashboards and presentations. Report Filtering allows clients to hide rows and columns in a report. Complex filtering rules can be applied, to help clients derive meaning from reports, focus on issues, and recognize patterns. Use filtering to create subsets of a report, and then transfer them for a colleague. BI:Scope provides print preview, scaling and fit-to-page print features clients expect from their applications. Clients have full control over print options, including headers and footers with corporate logos, and dynamic tags for page numbers, and dates. BI:Scope provides report striping options, so very wide reports can still be printed in a highly readable format. Integration BI:Scope allows clients to work with the information in their reports. The clipboard is supported with a Data Table copy feature which copies selected information in a format appropriate for Microsoft Excel pivot tables. Report Transfer can be used to download the report in various formats including Microsoft Excel 97, and text formats for importing into Microsoft Access or other applications. Clients can use report filtering to create various subsets of a single report, and download them for distribution to colleagues. BI:Scope adds report sorting to CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy WebOlap reports. Sorting can be performed by facts or headings. BI:Scope supports WebOlap drilling and provides visual cues for cells that are drillable. You can employ fact drilling suppression if no facts are drillable. Content Smart Integration Add-ins BI:Scope provides a simple yet powerful extension platform, for integrating new features into BI:Scope. Content smart integration add-ins are developed in Java and are dynamically loaded at runtime. BI:Scope provides add-ins information about the current report and selections the user has made on the report. Add-in Services exist to assist with standardized operations like updating report definitions, saving and opening server files, etc. Add-ins can direct the next browser transaction so add-ins can be used to guide users to other applications deriving context from the report selections. Entire Java applications can be easily updated to execute as add-ins, providing a consistent platform for delivering applications to the users. Corporate developers can use add-ins to link reporting applications to operational systems, or other decision assist applications, and provide solutions for special requirements. The BI:Scope ESReportDesigner add-in allows business analysts to modify the current report definition while they are viewing the report. Analysts can run the changed report definition, submit it for background execution, or save a copy for other business analysts to use as a report template. The BI:Scope ReportFlow add-in allows analysts to define collections of reports that are logically linked together to support a business process. Users can dynamically generate new reports by simply selecting information in the report and selecting BI:Scope ReportFlow from the toolbar. BI:Scope ReportFlow presents the user with a list of possible choices based on the selections they have made, and then generates the report. Using BI:Scope ReportFlow, analysts can focus on the business task without breaking their concentration to go create a new report. By logically relating reports for a business function, analysts are free to perform their analysis logically based on the information, not task oriented using manually created generic reports. Using BI:Scope ReportFlow can result in reduced server workloads by producing smaller reports. Using report selections as the deciding factor, limits the report requirements to items, strictly in support of the selected information. This creates more targeted, and smaller report generation requests. ReportFlow also allows users to submit reports for background and over night execution. Analysts can force long running reports to overnight execution, saving valuable prime time resources. Using BI:Scope ReportFlow allows WebOlap reports to drill across categories, or even data marts. The BI:Scope Scheduler add-in provides access to the CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy background scheduler. Users can display the status of jobs, and cancel their own background jobs. Using the scheduler, clients can cancel any report requests they really don t need, and further save system resources. International Language Support BI:Scope is currently available in English and German. Other language ports are available upon request. M87systems Corporation Page 4 http://www.m87systems.com
