Connection Instructions 3.1 Installation Checklist Please review the following steps before installing the A/V Splitter: Test the Splitter and cabling before installing in a permanent location Power OFF all the equipment before connecting the Splitter and cables Locate the Splitter within 5 feet of an AC electrical outlet Use high quality HDMI cables for the best performance 4K video may need an active HDMI cable for distances over 15 feet 4K video resolution requires a 4K source, 4K cable, and a 4K display HDMI source and destination must share a common video resolution and refresh rate Certain CATV or STB makers may block the replication of the HDMI signal. Check with your service provider Output from a computer source can only be mirrored, not extended 3.2 Front Panel Diagram 1) POWER: Green LED indicator verify a connection to power 2) OUT 1: Blue LED indicates a live HDMI signal to 1st display 3) IN: Blue LED indicates active HDMI signal from video source 4) OUT 2: Blue LED indicates active HDMI signal to 2nd display 5) EDID: Manual switch for selecting HD or 4K video output 3
3.3 EDID Settings HD: This is the default setting for the Splitter Video output is set to 1080p @ 60Hz Audio is set LPCM 2CH stereo 4K: This is the programmable setting for the Splitter Video output is set to the EDID of Video OUT 1 display 4Kx2K video resolution will be displayed if supported by the video source and both output displays Outputs the highest resolution supported by all connected displays 3.4 Rear Panel Connections 1) DC 5V: Connect the AC power adapter to the Splitter 2) VIDEO IN: Connect the video source (TV or other source) 3) VIDEO OUT 1: Connect a display with HDMI input 4) VIDEO OUT 2: Connect a display with HDMI input 4
3.5 Connection Instructions 1) Power down all the source equipment and output displays 2) Connect an HDMI cable from the video source (TV) to the VIDEO IN 3) Connect HDMI cables from the Splitter to both displays 4) Set the EDID switch to HD if using 1080p as a video resolution 5) Set the EDID switch to 4K if connecting 4K displays or another video resolution other than 1080. 6) Connect the AC power adapter to the Splitter and to a power outlet 7) Power on the video source and output display equipment 8) Select the HDMI audio and video output from the video source 9) Select the HDMI audio and video input from the connected displays 3.6 Troubleshooting Tips Power off everything before changing any equipment or EDID settings Verify that the Splitter and all connected equipment have power. The LEDs should be lit on the Splitter Verify that all cables are connected to the correct input and output ports Verify that the correct video input and outputs are selected Test with the 4K EDID setting to allow the Splitter to discover the best compatible resolution 4K video requires a 4K source, 4K cables and 4K equipped displays Adjust the aspect ration and refresh rate of the video source to find test compatibility with the output displays Test the cables by directly connecting the video source to the displays Connected displays can only be mirrored, not extended A Not Supported error message may indicate that the video source cannot support two HDCP connections Contact support@cablematters.com with questions 5
