Coaching Applicant Information Welcome to the Boulder Valley School District s online application system. We are pleased about your interest in applying for employment with our school district. Our online application system provides a quick and easy means for you to search job postings and apply. Once you decide to apply, entering your information is simple. At BVSD, we require all candidates to complete an online application in order to be fully considered for any job position. Should we only receive your resume or a partial application, your application will be considered incomplete, and your application may not be considered. This issue may cause delays in the hiring process for both parties. Following are the five (5) main sections of our application that you need to fill out: 1) Contact Information 2) Preferences 3) Experience 4) Education 5) Interviews a) General Questions Interview b) EEO Interview (optional) The instructions listed below will assist you as you review our current job openings or apply for a position with Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). We recommend that you follow the instructions on each screen of application process. We realize not everyone is familiar or comfortable with using a computer. Simply visit our Human Resources department at 6500 Arapahoe Road, Boulder, CO and our staff will be happy to provide you with assistance using our online application system. Go to bvsd.org/jobs. The following webpage will appear:

Click on the Apply for a Job/Browse Job Openings link If you are a new applicant, please click on the First Time Users button if you wish to browse openings without applying and/or. If you are a returning user (you have filled out an online application with BVSD in the past) please enter your username and password. You created your username and password when you first filled out the online application. If you cannot remember your username or password, please do not fill out another application. Call Human Resources at 303.447.5031 and we will temporarily reset your password.

On the Job Search Conditions page, you may use as many or as few of the search conditions that will help you find the best job openings in the easiest possible way. You must select at least one search field in order to see any job openings. As to not limit your search, you will want to select the coach category and then hit the continue button. The system will then show you all coaching positions in the district. The BVSD Employment page displays a list of job openings that match the conditions you entered on the previous page. You may return to the previous page to modify your search criteria at any time by clicking "back". Click on a job title link to view the job details. Click in a checkbox to the left of the job title to apply for that job. Click on the checkmark to remove it (indicating that you no longer wish to apply for that job). You may select more than one. Click "continue" to proceed to the next page. If your search conditions did not result in any job openings, the next page will provide you the opportunity to select more general job types for future openings. This means you can select the type of job that interests you rather than a specific job opening name.

If you choose to apply to a position, you will then proceed into the online application. The first page is the Consent Agreement form: The Contact Information page allows you to provide us with information necessary to contact you. Questions followed by an asterisk require an answer, and you cannot proceed to the next page until all required information is entered. This is where you will create and username and password for your online application with BVSD. The password you create must be 6 or more characteristics and cannot contain spaces. This will allow you to login at a later date and update your application. Work Eligibility tells us about your work status for the United States. Registration Expiration tells us how long you want your employment profile to be available to us for hiring purposes. During that time, you may be considered for jobs you select on the Job Selection page. If you entered an e-mail address, we will notify you when your registration is about to expire. Your registration is extended each time you log in to your employment profile. We are interested in knowing how you learned about the job(s) we have listed, so we ask you to provide a referral type. Some referral types may also require a referral name. Select the referral type that best fits your situation.

The Preferences page asks for your preferences, education, certification, and experience. Questions followed by an asterisk require an answer, and you cannot proceed to the next page until all required information is entered. You are not required to check any boxes under Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, Education, or Certification. You may leave the minimum salary field empty if you select "negotiable". If you enter a salary amount, be sure to use numbers only (no dollar signs or commas). You are able to attach a resume and cover letter on this page (this is optional). At the bottom of the page, under Additional Information, enter three references in the text box. The Experience page asks for your work experience by employer. Enter the information for one employer; then click "Add or Update" (do not confuse this button with the Apply/Update button). The work experience you entered will appear on the left under the List of Employers box. Add as many employers as you wish, and in any order you wish (it does not matter which employer you list first). If you enter a company name, you must provide the company s city and state and your job title at that company. Questions followed by an asterisk require an answer, and you cannot proceed to the next page until all required information is entered. "Experiences Related to Your Job Preference" lists work experiences that are associated with your job selection. For full school year assignments, please select the same month as the "from" date (for example, if you started in August and completed the school year, select August as the "through" date). For each experience, enter the number of years of experience you had with this employer. You may enter parts of a year by using a decimal point (3.5 means three years and six months).

The Education page asks for your education experience by school or institution. Enter information in the appropriate fields and make selections from the drop down lists. We have provided a text box in which you may enter any details you want us to know about your education. Click "Add or Update" when all information is complete (do not confuse this button with the Apply/Update button). Questions followed by an asterisk require an answer, and you cannot proceed to the next page until all required information is entered. The Certification/Licenses page is NOT Required. Please skip the page and continue to the Interview section. Simply click on the Continue button to skip this section.

Under the Interview section, you are required to complete the General Interview, which consists of two questions. You will also be asked to fill out an EEO Interview this is optional. As you answer the interview questions, you cannot go back and change your answers once you submit a page or exit the application. If you need to reset your answers, please call Human Resources at 303.447.5031. This page allows you to view a summary of your application.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What do I do if I am interested in a position with BVSD? You will need to apply using our online application process. What does this new online process mean for old paper applications? Paper applications/resumes will no longer be considered or accepted at BVSD. What if I do not own a computer or have Internet access? You may use computers located in our Human Resources department. Computers with Internet access are often available at your local public library, some college campuses, coffee houses, and other places such as Kinkos (which may require a user fee). What if I do not know anything about computers? Not everyone is familiar or comfortable with using a computer. Simply visit our Human Resources department at 6500 Arapahoe Road, Boulder, CO and our staff will be happy to provide you with assistance using our online application system. Why can t I just submit my resume and skip all the other steps in the online application? Our online application system does allow applicants to submit their resumes in either an attachment or cut and paste in a free-text field. At BVSD, we require all candidates to complete the entire online application in order to be fully considered for any job position. Should we only receive your resume your application will be considered incomplete, and your application may not be considered. This issue may cause delays in the hiring process for both parties. What if I lose or forget my User ID or Password? On our application Welcome screen, you can select the Did you forget your user name or password? link and follow the prompts. If you still can t access your application, please call Human Resources at 303-447- 5031 during regular business hours. What if I do not have an email address? We strongly encourage you to create a personal email account to efficiently process your online application. Email services such as Yahoo, Hotmail and MSN frequently offer free email accounts. How will you communicate with me? Our preferred method of communication is through email. During the online application process you will be asked to enter your contact information such as your address, telephone number, and email address. What if I would like to update my online application? By using your User ID and Password, you can access your application anytime day or night. Just add or change any of the information on your application and select Save and Quit or Apply/Update once you are finished. How long will you keep my application on file? Your online application will remain active from 1-6 months from the date you applied. However, each time you update your online information your active status is reset for the number of months you choose (1, 3, or 6 months are your choices). The best way to keep your application current is to update it as your information changes. How do I inactivate my application? If you no longer wish to be considered for any position in BVSD, please send an email to hrd@bvsd.org with inactivate my application in the subject line and your application will be inactivated. You can withdraw from any specific job requisition, but your application will remain active.
