Daylight Saving Time: If you enable the functionality you have two options for entering the start and end dates (in this exercise "by day of the week" is chosen) NTP Service: NTP disabled (an NTP server can be used for time synchronization) 6) Click on "Next" to continue and click "OK" 7) In the screen we make the following settings: Name: Training (this name is used within the Management Software to refer to this Storage System) Installation Location: Classroom (in practice could tell for example the room in the building) Administrator: My Self (in practice could also include a telephone number of the Administrator) Description: ETERNUS Training Equipment (in practice could for example describe the main usage purpose of the system) 8) Click on "Next" to continue and click "OK"

If you click on "Next" without filling in the fields, you will get an error message, likewise if the new password does not fulfill the password conditions. 11) In the Setup Network Environment screen we make the following settings: Select Network Port: MNT (keep the default). Speed and Duplex: Auto Negotiation Master IP Address: 192.168.1.1 (keep the default) Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (keep the default) 12) Click on "Next" to continue and click "OK" 13) That brings us to the end of the Initial Setup.
