Instructions to install IntelliBar Mi Series Windows 7 printer drivers (network) 1. For the most up to date driver, download from our website (http://www.intellitechintl.com/store/content/93-intellibar-printer-drivers-mi-series) the zipped IntelliBar Mi Series Windows 7 Driver Package to the Desktop on your computer - or - place the IntelliBar Mi Series Installation Bundle v.1.00 disk in your CD Drive. If the cd autorun feature is on and the Intellitech International splash screen appears, please X (cancel) out of it. 2. If downloaded from the web site, unzip the downloaded driver package and note where it is located on your computer. 3. Physically install your IntelliBar printer on your local network. The printer should have ribbon and labels installed and be powered on. 4. In the following steps we will obtain the printer s assigned DHCP IP Address: Note: It is recommended that a Static IP Address be used. To do this, please consult with your network administrator. A) From the Ready screen, press the Menu button. B) Then press the Advanced button. Page 1 of 11
C) Then press the Comm button. D) Then press the Ethernet button. E) Write down the assigned DHCP IP Address (May be different from what is shown here). Press the Home icon to return to the Ready screen. Page 2 of 11
5. Click on the Window Start icon at the lower left hand corner of the desktop. 6. Click on Devices and Printers in the right hand column of the start window. Page 3 of 11
7. Click on the Add a printer link in the top tool bar. 8. The Add printer wizard will open. 9. Choose the Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer for a networked connected configuration. Page 4 of 11
10. The Searching for available printers window will open. It will take a minute or two to complete it s search. If you see your printer s IP Address listed, select it and click Next. If you do not see your printer IP Address, select The printer that I want isn t listed 11. The Find a printer by name or TCP/IP address window will open. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and click Next. Page 5 of 11
12. The Type a printer hostname or IP address dialog box opens. For Device type select TCP/IP Device. Enter the IP Address acquired earlier in Step 4-E. The Port name should automatically fill in but you may change this if you wish. Do not check the Query the printer box. Click the Next button. 13. Additional port information required: For Device Type check the Standard button and select the Generic Network Card. Click the Next button. Page 6 of 11
14. The Install the printer driver window will open. Click on the Have disk button. 15. The Install From Disk window will open. Click on the Browse button. Page 7 of 11
16. If you downloaded and unzipped the driver from the Intellitech-Intl web site, navigate to the location where you downloaded and unzipped the IntelliBar Mi Series Windows 7 Driver Package and click on the PCLtherm.pcl5c.inf file to select it and then click the Open button. If you have the IntelliBar Mi Series Installation Bundle v.1.00 disk in the CD Drive, go to D:\(or your drive letter)\software\windowsprintdriver\thermalprinterdriver and select the PCLtherm.pcl5c.inf file. Click Open. 17. The Install From Disk window will reopen. Click on the OK button. Page 8 of 11
18. The Install the printer driver window will appear. Click on your IntelliBar model to select it and then click on the Next button. NOTE: The IntelliBar driver installation package senses whether your Windows 7 operating system is 32 bit or 64 bit and automatically presents the appropriate drivers for you to select. NOTE: Windows will present a warning: This driver is not digitally signed! This is not cause for alarm. 19. The Type a printer name window will open. Type your choice of a name for your IntelliBar printer in the Printer name: box and click the Next button. Page 9 of 11
20. Windows may present a Windows Security Warning box, warning that Windows can t verify the publisher of this driver software. The IntelliBar Windows 7 driver will not harm your computer system. Click on the Install this driver software anyway selection to continue. 21. The IntelliBar driver will be installed and the Printer Sharing window will open. Choose whether or not to share the IntelliBar printer. If you choose to share, you may edit the Share name, indicate its location or add a comment. After making your selection and entries, click the Next button. Page 10 of 11
22. Windows will notify you that the IntelliBar printer has been successfully added to your system. You may set the IntelliBar as your default printer by clicking on the Set as the default printer box, or leave it unselected as you wish. Click on the Print a test page button. Your IntelliBar printer will print out the test page, or the portion of which will fit on the label you have installed in the printer. Click the Finish button to complete the installation. Your IntelliBar printer is now ready for use with your Windows 7 operating system.
