Changes in v06502 This maintenance release is the first version that includes support for Dynamic Polarization (DP New!). It also improves tracking accuracy for small aperture reading heads and small colorbar targets. This upgrade is not suggested for most customers. Upgrading firmware always involves risk. If there is a communications glitch, it is possible that the system will be rendered inoperable. Do not upgrade unless you are certain that the firmware will improve your system performance. Finally, note that customers whose firmware version starts with v05#### cannot upgrade their firmware in the field. These systems must be physically updated at a qualified X-Rite repair center. The IntelliTrax hardware must be configured at factory defaults prior to beginning the firmware upgrade. For most customers this is the normal circumstance. Factory default uses static IP addressing and the provided crossing (yellow) interface cable. The notes that follow detail the upgrade process. Setting Static IP mode 1. Ensure that the computer and the IntelliTrax track are connected with the provided crossing (yellow) interface cable. 2. Gently pull the head away from the station (about 6 to 8 inches). Release the button then deliberately press it four times: One, two, three, four. The status indicator will go from flashing green to flashing orange to flashing red to alternating orange and green. 5. After the forth press, wait about two seconds and then press and hold the station button again. In approximately three seconds, the scanning head will return to the station. The status indicator will continue to flash orange and green and then will become a steady green after a few seconds. Page 1 of 6 Upgrading Firmware 07/20/2006
