Overview 1 The VMware Workspace ONE Web is a mobile application that your organization whether it s a company, school, or something else has chosen to use to provide as an alternative to the native web on your mobile device. Workspace ONE Web allows you to access important websites on your device while allowing your organization to ensure that you are maximizing your productivity. The purpose of this guide is to help you use the application, so you can access the websites you need. It is divided into a couple of sections with simple explanations of each button and menu for Kiosk and Restricted Mode. Your organization will provide you with Workspace ONE Web that functions in Kiosk or Restricted Mode. VMware, Inc. 4
Restricted Mode 2 Restricted mode is an optional setting that controls the content that the user can see. The key features of Workspace ONE Web in restricted mode includes: 1 Forward/Backward Navigate forward and backward through previously visited web pages. 2 Navigation Bar Enter the URL that you want to navigate using the default search engine. Use Paste and Go option to open a copied link and the Paste and Search option to search for copied text. Refresh Reload the current webpage. 3 Menu Select to view additional options. VMware, Inc. 5
Workspace ONE Web for ios User Guide Add Bookmarks Select your favorite websites and add them to Personal bookmarks. You can view all of your bookmarked sites by navigating to Bookmarks > Personal bookmark section. Share Based on your administrator s Workspace ONE UEM console settings (DLP policies), you can access share options. From these options, you can copy and email your link or print the page. Find in page Search for required text in a webpage. Bookmarks View the bookmarks pushed down by your administrator as well as your favorited websites. For more information on Bookmarks view and other available options, see Bookmarks View. Downloads View your downloaded files in the download manager. From here, you can delete the files or open them in apps that are permitted by your administrator. Settings Set your browsing preferences from this view. For more information on advanced app actions, see Settings. History View all the webpages that you have recently visited. Desktop Mode View the webpages you browse in desktop view. 4 Tabs Preview Add new tabs or close existing tabs from here. Open a new tab page to utilize tabbed browsing for multiple web views and to access QR code icon ( Additionally, you can also open a new tab by selecting a bookmark. ) from the URL bar. Workspace ONE Web for ios User Guide QR code icon is accessible only from New Tab page view. Upon clicking the icon, the scanner opens and scans the QR code. At certain cases, based on your administrator configuration settings, you may not be able to view QR code in the URL bar. When QR code is detected, the associated website is launched. If QR code does not lead to a website, the text embedded in the QR code is displayed on the page, where you can copy the text to clipboard or search the text verbatim. 5 Home button Return to the Workspace ONE Web home page. Your administrator sets the home page. If the home page is set to blank, all bookmarks and recently viewed pages are now readily available as tiles on the home page. Actions Search Engine Desktop Mode Clear Browsing Data Definition Tap the arrow to enter a different search engine than the one that appears by default. Enable the button to request a desktop view of the sites you browse. Leave disabled to continue viewing sites in the mobile view. Tap and select any of the following: Clear Cookies Clear cookies from websites viewed. Clear Cache Clear cache to enhance web performance and reduce perceived lag time. Clear History Delete search history of webpages. Clear All Remove cookies, cache, and browsing history in one tap. Privacy Privacy details Displays the Workspace ONE Web privacy dialog screen (scrolling enabled). When configured by your administrator, you can access your company s privacy policy from within Workspace ONE Web. Data Sharing Changes the Data Sharing setting. When disabled, the data sharing screen is not displayed, and no data is collected from the device to optimize the app experience. VMware, Inc. 7
Workspace ONE Web for ios User Guide Bookmarks View Bookmarks can be viewed on the home screen as tiles based on your administrator s configurations. Web clips that your organization has pushed can also be viewed as bookmarks. Some webclips are opened in full screen mode if your administrator configures it. To switch back to normal screen mode, either access the Workspace ONE Web again or open a new tab. Table 2 1. Access any of the following options from the Bookmarks view to perform further actions. Actions Personal Managed Edit Add Definition View and manage personally bookmarked sites. View bookmarks pushed to your device from your administrator. Edit a personal bookmark. Add selected websites as favorite bookmark. The favorite bookmarks are added to personal bookmark section in Bookmarks page. The added bookmarks can be edited or deleted later. If enabled by your organization, the personal bookmarks that you add on device syncs across the Workspace ONE Web on all your other enrolled devices. To refresh the webpage in full screen mode, you can pull down the webpage. Support Use the Workspace ONE Web support primarily to report logs to the UEM console as email attachments or to copy logs to the device clipboard for future reference. Actions Web User Guide Email Logs Copy Logs Copy LogID Disable Shake gesture Definition Access the user guide for help with your Workspace ONE Web application. If the device has configured boxer as a managed account, use it as default email account to send the logs through email. If not, open the app list to choose to send the logs as email attachment. Copy logs and save it in device clipboard. Copy log unique identification number. Enable this feature to prevent accidentally invoking the Support screen from where the user can send logs. Kiosk Mode 3 Kiosk Mode removes the navigation bar and limits browsing to the homepage and its available links. The key features of a kiosk include the absence of navigation bar and extremely limited browsing options. Forward/Backward Navigate forward and backward through previously visited web pages. Home Return to the Workspace ONE Web home page. Bookmark/Tab Preview View the bookmarks pushed down by your administrator in this preview. Based on the configurations set by your administrator, you can view multi-tab to add multiple new tabs. QR code icon ( ) in Kiosk mode is only available in multi-tab view and is accessed from the URL bar. At certain cases, based on your administrator configuration settings, you may not be able to view QR code in the URL bar. Refresh Reload the current webpage. VMware, Inc. 9
