any.cloud is a Veeam Service Provider and we offer Veeam Backup & Replication in 30 datacenters worldwide. any.cloud gives you both availability and security with ReVirt. ReVirt stands for Reverse Virtual and that means bringing you back to how things were before the data loss. ReVirt ReVirt is a Cloud Connect offering that enables secure and effective cloud backup and replication. With ReVirt, you can secure your data directly from your own Veeam console. Veeam Cloud Connect is the easy and effective solution to an offsite backup to a hosted cloud solution via an SSL connection and cloud gateway. Cloud Connect can be installed in minutes, and you might even be able to activate your backup repository online, so you can start your replication right away. Using ReVirt, you can also get a disaster recovery (DR) site in your solution. It doesn t matter, whether your solution is local or hosted: Either way you will be able to start your VMs with ReVirt. Key benefits With ReVirt, you are securing data in an off-site backup solution that is air gaped. This way you will have a secure backup copy of your data, if your local or hosted copy is compromised. We recommend that you encrypt your data. With ReVirt, you can choose the type and frequency of your backups, and it is easily modified with only a few clicks. ReVirt protects you from a wide range of events that could affect both your primary data and the on-site backups. any.cloud and Veeam any.cloud has been a VCSP (Veeam Cloud & Service Provider) gold partner since 2014 and was awarded the Veeam Cloud Partner of the Year in 2014. Our cooperation is strong and this is why we resell licenses and offer hosted Veeam Cloud Connect services. Handling your data any.cloud is a member of the Danish branch association for hosting companies (BFIH). This guarantees your company that your data is technically and legally protected. Your company s data lies encrypted in our highly secure server camp at InterXion. With InterXion being staffed 4

24 hours a day with security guards, and insured against water damage, theft, fire, hacking etc., your data is, in other words, safer with us than with you. Furthermore, we have an independent service auditor s assurance report on our description of controls, their design and operating effectiveness regarding the operation of hosted services. You can read more about safety and security on the next page. Payment and upgrades With ReVirt, you pay per TB (terabyte), and you can always upgrade to more TBs. The price is determined by the number of TBs in the Cloud Connect repository for backup, and there is a Cloud Connect fee per VM. The only fee is the cost per TB of Veeam Cloud Connect storage, and the cost per VM. Trial subscription We offer a 30 days trial subscription, where you can create one Veeam Cloud Connect tenant with a capacity of up to 1 TB. When the trial subscription period is over, you will need to subscribe to a paid solution, if you want to keep using ReVirt. No credit card is needed to test the service. You can test it for free for 30 days, and all you need to do is provide us with your e-mail. If you find that you need more capacity, upgrading is no problem. Just send an email to our support@anycloud.dk and we will upgrade your solution. Terms for resellers Resellers who are part of our any.cloud Channel & Partner network can contact their Partner Manager to enable discounts on their account, and there is a discount included. Veeam licenses As a Veeam partner, we sell licenses to all Veeam products. Please note, however, that our support team only supports Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Cloud Connect. 5

Safety with Veeam Cloud Connect We take security very seriously. We are ISO 27002 and ISAE 3402 certified, and all data is stored in tier III+ datacenters with 24/7 surveillance and security staff present on all locations. Access to the datacenter and data is limited to only certified and approved personnel. Before accessing your data, our staff is required to enter a personal key combination along with their picture ID card, go through a retina/fingerprint scanner, go through a mantrap and even after taking those steps, they still need to use their picture ID and a key combination with a physical key before physically reaching the data. All storage repositories are based on the leading hardware providers with the highest level of protection. They are also separated on the networking layer to make sure that no one can reach your data. All our systems are monitored 24/7 by security and infrastructure staff that make sure that we can respond to all threats ASAP. Security with Veeam Cloud Connect Veeam Cloud Connect is End2End encrypted with AES-256, which means that even before data starts leaving your organisation, it is encrypted with our own encryption key. Data remains encrypted over the internet and it is possible to let it stay encrypted at-rest. This is highly recommendable. Our own personnel can only access your data by either connecting by a strongly encrypted SSL VPN or through our own closed network. Sending data via the internet Veeam Cloud Connect uses the same SSL encryption level as your bank does, when accessing your data through web banking. Veeam Cloud Connect encryption Veeam Cloud Connect uses several encryption technologies to guarantee that data stays encrypted: SSL, TLS and AES. If you want to know more about this, our staff is more than happy to answer any question you may have. 6

Opening an account with Veeam Cloud Connect All you need to do is go to our website and register on the front page. When registered, you will receive an email containing all the details needed to get started. From here on your 30 days backup-trial starts. If you need a DR (disaster recovery) trial, please write to our support team at support@anycloud.dk and they will activate it for you. When your trial ends, you can convert to a paid model with the same user credentials as for your trial. Veeam Cloud Connect account An account is an administrative user that contains repositories and/or DR objects like reserved CPU, RAM, datastore & VLANs. Each account can have one or more tenants. Veeam Cloud Connect tenant A tenant is an individual repository that contains the data uploaded by Veeam Backup & Replication. There are a couple of options: You can either choose to have one tenant to contain all backup data and DR data. A possible use case for having multiple tenants would be, if you had multiple departments in different regions. Another use case for having several tenants would be, if you are a reseller and need multiple tenants for your own customers. Each tenant is unique and cannot see or access other tenants on the same account. Creating tenants There is no limit to how many tenants you can create on a paid subscription. Trial subscriptions are limited to one tenant with 1 TB storage for backups and replication. Adding Veeam Cloud Connect service as an off-site backup destination and/or a DR site When you have received an account on revirt.dk, you are ready to start setting up your Cloud Connect Repository with the credentials, port details and destination URL you have received in the email. 7

In the Service Providers section of Backup Infrastructure, click on "Add Service Provider". Enter the server location of your ReVirt Cloud Connect tenant repository, and add a description. 8

Click on "Add" to create new credentials, or click on "Manage Accounts" to update existing credentials. 9

Review the repository name, capacity and/or your DR hardware plan allocated to your tenant. Please note that if only backup is allocated to your account, Hardware Plans and Network Extension will not appear. If DR is chosen, you also need to review your network extension details. If needed, click Edit to edit your network settings. 10

Specify network details. Review the Service Provider configuration and tenant repository details. 11

Error "Unable to connect to the service provider" Your local infrastructure was unable to reach your hosted Veeam Cloud Connect repository. We recommend you check to make sure that: The port is set to 6180 Your operating system and network firewall allow connections to your hosted repository on the correct ports. Configuring Veeam Backup & Replication to perform off-site backups When you have configured the service provider part, you are ready to start using your Cloud Connect Cloud Repository, just like you would with your own local repositories. 14

In the Jobs section of Backup & Replication, click on "Backup Copy Job" and choose VMware. Enter the Backup Copy Job name and a description. 15

Click on "Add" to go to the virtual machines list. Select the virtual machines you would like to add to the backup job, and use the shift key to select multiple machines Click on "Recalculate" to review the estimated backup size.. 16

Select the Veeam Cloud Connect tenant repository. Choose whether to send data directly or through a WAN accelerator. Please note that a WAN accelerator requires at least Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise. 17

Configure the Backup Copy Job frequency and schedule. Review the Backup Job configuration and details. 18

Setting up a replication job to your DR/Cloud Connect replica offering When the DR/Cloud Connect offering is activated in our end, a VMware/Hyper-V host will be present in your Veeam console. Use it to configure a replication job to your Cloud Host. 19

Configuring a replication job to a Cloud Host Click on Replication Job. Insert a name + a description and decide, if you need any of the 3 options. 20

Select the virtual machines that need to be replicated to your Cloud Host. Click Choose and then select Cloud Host to choose your Cloud Host through Cloud Connect. 21

Choose a local repository to store your metadata and choose a suffix to your VMs. This suffix will automatically be applied to all VMs when replicated to our infrastructure. Choose the number of restore points that you require, maximum is 28. If you need to change block size, notification or other options, click Advanced to do so. Choose a proxy to handle the data and select, if you want to use a WAN accelerator. Please note that a WAN accelerator requires at least Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise. 22

Select whether you need Application-aware processing enabled. Choose a schedule and click Apply. You will now get a summary of the replication job and then click Finish. 23

Deploying and configuring Veeam Backup & Replication To use Veeam Cloud Connect, you need to have a paid installation of Veeam Backup & Replication version 8 or above (DR/Cloud Connect Replica requires v9). Feel free to contact us, if we can be of assistance. Backing up sizable amounts of data It often happens that the first backup can be a struggle, because it is a full backup. For this we do offer a seed-load solution where you provide us with your data using a NAS/USB/storage box containing all your data. Shipment will be handled by your preferred carrier, or we can provide a carrier for you and invoice the shipping costs to you. Feel free to contact us, if we can help with seed-loading or if you have any further questions. Compressed data with virtual machines With the combination of a backup copy job and Cloud Connect, we can receive your data deduplicated and compressed, which benefits you as a customer, because the volume of TBs you need to buy is smaller when using us as a cloud repository. Maximizing storage utilization By placing multiple VMs in the same backup copy job, deduplication will make sure that duplicated files are only shipped once. We hereby reduce your storage usage. Viewing capacity of tenant repository Your repository and/or your DR/replication host will be present in Veeam just like your own repositories and hosts. The only difference is that our service will be present as a cloud repository and/or cloud host. Support of hypervisors We support the same hypervisors as the current Veeam Backup & Replication does. Local backups and infrastructure It is possible to set up a backup job to back up directly to Cloud Connect, if you do not have any local repositories. This is being done exactly as you would with a local repository. 24

Restoring an off-site backup You can restore just like you would do with a local job. The same granular backup options are offered, if you are using Cloud Connect. No extra fee applies, if you restore a backup. Restoring sizable amounts of data We understand that restoring data is not always fun, and usually, people want to restore as fast as possible. If needed, we can copy your data to one or more USB disks with a full or partial restore of your virtual machines. Typically, we will charge the cost of the USB disks and shipping and charge you a fixed price per 1 TB of data transfer. The USB disk should be plug and play to perform a local recovery via the Veeam console. Restoring virtual machines in the any.cloud datacenter Although this service is not yet available via the self-service portal, we can restore your VMware vsphere virtual machines on our infrastructure. Please contact us, if you are interested in our cloud builder or hosted services. Activation of Disaster Recovery solution If you have a DR situation, you can enable failover on a VM through your own Veeam console. Go to Replicas. 25

Click Failover Now in the left corner and Choose which VMs to fail over. Click Next. Click Finish. Failover now starts and your replicated VMs to your Cloud Hosts will now start. 26

Your failover is now active. If you need to fail back, browse to your active DR VMs and click Undo Failover. It will now stop the replication process, replicate changes back to production and shut down the replicated VM in DR on the Cloud host. Fees when activating a Disaster Recovery solution There is an extra fee when activating a DR solution. With our DR/Cloud Connect replica offering, you only pay for the number of TBs per month. However, when activating your DR plan, you will be invoiced for the number of CPU/RAM and VLANs you have assigned per day. Veeam installation down during a DR situation If you have a full disaster scenario, you can activate the same failover plan as the one you normally have in your Veeam console through https://backup.revirt.dk:6443. The login is the Cloud Connect account you received in your email during setup of your account through revirt.dk. Agents An agent is a Veeam solution to cover physical Windows/Linux machines or Windows/Linux servers in cloud solutions that do not use VMware or Hyper-V as hypervisor. That could be Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, IBM Cloud, etc. The agent is a software that you install on each machine. 27

The Veeam agent supports Cloud Connect to offsite backup directly to you. Please note that the correct version is required in order for Cloud Connect to be supported. Only Workstation and Server edition are supported. The Cloud Connect service you use with the Veeam agents is the exact same as with Veeam Backup & Replication. Versions of Veeam Agents There are two versions: A Workstation and a Server edition. Both can be installed on workstations and servers. Downloading and installing Veeam agents You can download a trial on Veeam.com. Agents can be purchased through us. Feel free to reach out and we are happy to help. The price for a Cloud Connect repository is the same as the normal Cloud Connect backup offering. There is an additional fee per machine. Please feel free to contact us for a quote. We are here to answer any question you may have. Requirements and setting up Veeam agents The only requirements are that you have at least a Veeam Agent Workstation or Server edition. When setting it up, it is important that you create a recovery media. This media contains details regarding the OS, important drivers, system partitions etc. In case of a restore from a full machine backup, you need to boot from this media in order to recover data. 28

Open the Create Recovery Media.exe after installing the Veeam Agent. Click next, unless you need to inject special drivers (like raid drivers). Choose where to store the media. Make sure that you save to a secure place. 29

Click Create. After creating the recovery media, you can now proceed with configuring a backup job to your Cloud Connect repository. Click Configure backup. 30

Choose a backup mode and click Next. Choose Veeam Cloud Connect repository and click Next. 31

Type the DNS name of our service. The port needs to be 6180. Make sure that the certificate is verified and type in your username and password. This username and password is your ReVirt account or a subtenant that you created from our Cloud Connect web portal(vac). 32

Choose your cloud repository and how many restore points you want. For more advanced settings, click Advanced. Click Enable backup cache, if you want a local cache to place backups while your machine is offline. That will ensure that we do not break your backup chain, even if you have no access to the internet. When access to the internet is back, uploading the backups in the cache starts automatically. 33

From here you can enable application-aware processing and file system indexing. This could be preferable, if Microsoft Exchange, Active-directory, Microsoft SQL, etc. is running on the machine. Choose a schedule. When clicking Apply, your backup job to Cloud Connect is complete. 34

Availability Console Availability Console is an overview portal from which you can manage your environment remotely, create subtenants, handle quotas and more. You find the portal on vac.revirt.dk, and you can log in with your ReVirt Cloud Connect account and get an overview of what your Cloud Connect infrastructure looks like. On the same vac.revirt.dk portal, you can see the status of all your Veeam Agents and it is even possible to remote control and configure them from inside the portal. It is also possible to see status and configure/control backup jobs from your Veeam Backup & Replication server. We connect to your agents and Veeam backup & Replication server through the same SSL AES Cloud Connect connection that Veeam uses while doing backup. In order for us to control your Veeam Backup & Replication environment, we need for you to give us access to your Veeam Backup & Replication console. It is just a tick in a checkbox when setting up the service provider field (Allow this Veeam Backup & Replication installation to be managed by the service provider). Please note that we as a service provider do not have access to your console, unless we know your Cloud Connect username and password. All our users generated from our webpage are auto generated through an API and are not known by any of our employees. 35

Creating subtenants If needed for branch offices, it is possible to create subtenants from within the web portal. Please browse to the Configuration tab in the top right corner when logged in. From here you create a location and then a portal user that you assign to the location. If you assign specific repositories to a subtenant, please note that the volume of TBs you assign is from your ReVirt top account repository. Use cases Below are some different examples of what our portal can do. Get a summary of your ReVirt Cloud Connect agent backup environment. Get a summary of your VM backup environment. 36

See your Cloud Backup quota. See your Cloud Replication quota. Start backup jobs in your own Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure. You can event start a full Veeam Backup & Replication Console. It connects through a secure SSL AES 256 encrypted connection back to your own infrastructure. 37

Start/stop all your Failover Plans in your ReVirt Cloud Connect DR/replication environment. Assign configuration and manage all your agents from one single web interface. 38
