9000T-TP Series The 9000T-TP series 1 GHz twisted-pair power multi-tap taps off part of its input RF and AC, but lets the rest pass through. It divides the tapped-off signal and power into multiple outputs, supplying RF for video, voice, and data. The AC for network-powered telephone or data circuits is supplied by the twisted pair terminals. Continuous RF signal and AC power bypass circuit eliminates downstream service interruptions when faceplates are removed. Tel Spot reflective indicator allows easy identification of telephone-ready taps from ground level. Easily accessible plug-in current limiters and twisted-pair connectors. Water seal and strain relief for the out jacket of twisted pair cables. A multi-tap is a combination of a directional coupler and splitters arranged to produce a specific value or signal loss from the multi-tap s input to its tap ports. The Philips 9000T-TP series 1 GHz multi-taps provide RF signal on the coax drop and AC power passing on the twisted-pair connectors, with 15 watts-per-port power passing capacity at 60 VAC and 25 watts-per-port at 90 VAC. The 9000T-TP series is available in two-port, four-port, and eight-port models. The aluminum die-cast housing is pressure tested to 10 psi and is coated with a protective finish for excellent corrosion resistance. Separate RFI and weather gaskets work together to keep signals pure and protect circuitry from harsh environments. Rubber boots inside the brass SCTE F-ports help keep the 9000T-TP series multi-taps water-tight. A single alloy at contact points eliminates the galvanic couple and corrosion that accompanies aluminum-to-brass connections. Connecting the brass SCTE F-port to a brass F-connector can eliminate a weak link in your network. All F-ports come with a capacitor to block hum modulation that can originate from the subscriber home. This capacitor also provides additional protection from transients traveling on drop cables. Finally, these taps provide AC power passing over the twisted pair wires via 9000T-CL-STRAIGHT plug-in current limiters. Ordered separately, the plug-in current limiting devices protect the tap from short circuits in the powered twisted-pair. These devices automatically reset when the short is removed. And, the external plug-in feature makes it easy to install or remove AC power on each powered twisted-pair. All 9000T-TP series multi-taps share the following standard features: 1 GHz bandwidth capacity; rotating seizures; 2.5 kv surge resistance, which meets ANSI/IEEE C62.41-1991, Class B, 2500 V surge; and 12-Amp current handling capability. 3 June 2002 387
