Pointman's Card printing program, Card Designer allows the user to design and print cards more easily. Open Card Designer Click Start All Programs POINTMAN Card Designer Card Designer. Quick Launch Toolbar Main Menu Option Menu Title Window Style Option Window Size Option Tools Item Scrollbar Document Window Preview Properties Description Includes New, Open, Save, Save As, Issue, and Exit commands. Click "Card Designer" to open the menu window. Consists of the most frequently used editing commands including Edit Object and Create/Edit Image & Text. Includes optional functions for designing cards. Displays the title of the current job. Click the "Style" button to change the background color. Includes the Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons. Includes the most frequently used tools: Select, Text, Image, 1D Barcode, 2D Barcode, Line, Rectangle, Rounded -Rectangle and Circle. Appears on the screen when the full document cannot be displayed. You can drag it to navigate the document. Indicates the area where text and images are edited. Views the front and backside of the card. Changes the tool menu option. -Quick Launch Toolbar Click the "Card Designer" icon to open the Quick Launch Toolbar. 1 New Create a new card. 3 Save Save the card design that the user has created. 4 Save As Save the card design with a different file name. 5 Print Print the card as the user has designed. 6 Close Close the current document. (It does not close the Card Designer.) 7 Exit Exit the Card Designer. -Properties When clicking on "New", you can set the properties of a card including its orientation, type, and margins. Form Properties Item Direction Type Background Description Sets the orientation of the card (Portrait/Landscape) The default value is Landscape. Sets the unit type (e.g. inch, cm, mm). -Preview The Preview menu allows the user to view the front and backside of the card in advance. Click on the front or backside of the card to change the side. -Tool Menu & Properties The "Tool" menu includes the most frequently used tools in the Card Designer: Select, Text, Image, 1D Barcode, 2D Barcode, Line, Rectangle, Rounded Rectangle, and Circle. 1 Select You can move and zoom in/out the objects (e.g. image, text, barcode) you have selected in the Document Window. Hold down the Shift key to select multiple objects. 2 Text Use this menu to enter text in the Document Window. You can change the image properties from the "Properties" window located on the right side of the screen. Form Database Size Item Image Camera Brightness Contrast Flip vertical Flip horizontal Rotate Fix aspect ratio Use Database Displays the location of the image. You can change to a different image. If your PC has a camera, you can import an image from it. Adjusts the brightness level of the image. Adjusts the contrast level of the image. Flips the image up/down. Flips the image right/left. Description Rotate the image to 0, 90, 180 and 270 within the image box. (Any image outside the box will be cropped.) Keep the aspect ratio of the image. Linked to the database menu. -Main Menu Click on "Main" to open the toolbar. The main menu includes commonly used tools, which allows the user to edit objects and create/edit text when designing a card. 1 Print 1) Print Prints the card the user designed. 2. Set the number of copies and the front/backside of the card and click OK. [2] Issue Cards from Upper/Lower Input Hopper Use the following steps to select the input hopper when printing with the NUVIA series-n20/n30 (dual input hoppers). 1. Click Setup to open Card Printer Printing Preferences. Go to Card Printer Printing Preferences Advanced Paper Size and select the upper/lower Input Hopper. Card 54x85mm Print the cards from the upper Input Hopper. Card2 54x85mm Print the cards from the lower Input Hopper. Then select the Number of Copies and Print Front/Print Back and click OK 2 File 1) Save Saves the job created in the Document Window. 3 Clipboard Creates or deletes new objects using the Copy, Cut, Paste, and Select All functions. 1) Paste Pastes images or text into the Document Window. (The button is activated when using the Copy/Cut function.) 2) Cut Cuts images or text in the Document Window. (The button is activated when objects are selected in the Document Window.) 3) Copy Copies images or text in the Document Window. 4 Status Check "View" to activate the Status Bar at the bottom of the program. 1) View 5 Window Quickly select a different window from among the windows you are working on. (Click the icon to open the "Window" as shown in the picture.) 1) Window Item Select Window Description Displays a list of document windows. Double-click the list to move to the document window. Activate OK Save Close window(s) Minimize Select a window on the list and click this button to open it. It works the same as double-clicking the list. Exits "Window" without changing the document windows. Saves the opened documents. Exits "Window" without changing the document windows. (You will be prompted to save.) Minimize the selected documents on the list. To open the windows, use "Select Windows" - "Select List" - "Double-click" or "Activate" menu. POINTMAN Software Card Designer User Guide Manual 23

When two or more windows are selected, you can arrange them by selecting "Cascade", "Tile Horizontally" or "Tile Vertically". This option is not activated when only one document is selected. 6 Card Move between the front and backside of the card you are working on. 1) Front Displays the front side of the card. 2) Back Displays the backside of the card. 7 Card Type Use this menu to work on the magnetic stripe of the backside. 1) Magnetic stripe card Click Mag. Stripe card to display the Magnetic area on the backside of the card. Click "Cancel" in the "Magnetic Properties" window to enter the data later. Double-click the magnetic area of the backside to open the "Magnetic Properties" window and enter the data. (Make sure to click "OK" after entering the data.) Note - Single Track can be used for ISO 2 while All (3) Tracks can be used for ISO 1, 2 and 3. POINTMAN Software Card Designer User Guide Manual 25

8 Alignment Align or position the selected objects with certain orientations or with spacing. You need to select multiple objects. 1) Left Alignment Align multiple objects to the left side. 2) Bottom Alignment Align multiple objects to the bottom side. 3) Top Alignment Align multiple objects to the top side. 4) Right Alignment Align multiple objects to the right side. 9 Size Changes the width and height of multiple objects. The object selected first is used as a base for determining the width and height of other objects. 1) Same width Conforms multiple objects to the same width. 2) Same height Conforms multiple objects to the same height. 3) Same all Conforms multiple objects to the same width and height. 10 Zoom In/Out Zoom in or out on the card design project window. 1) Zoom In Zooms in the Document Window. 2) Zoom Out Zooms out the Document Window. 26 2016 T.I.TENG Co., Ltd. 11 Grid 1) Grid Enables/disables the grid pattern on the Document Window. 12 Position Change the position of objects in the Document Window. 1) Bring forward Moves the object forward by one layer. 2) Bring to front Moves the object to the front of the stack. 3) Send backward Moves the object backward by one layer. 4) Send to back Moves the object to the back of the stack. -Option Menu Click "Option" to open the toolbar. It includes additional functions for designing cards. 1 Database Database connect Data connection refers to the system of issuing cards by connecting to a database created using Microsoft Excel, Worksheet, or Microsoft Access. You can save time for repetitive jobs by using this system. [1] Design Card by Connecting to Database (1) Connect Data Created Using External Program to the Database 1. Create data to design cards using Microsoft Excel Enter the image path as follows. Hard drive name: folder name file name.jpg C: DB_IMAGE A_1.jpg For Microsoft Excel files, remove any horizontal and vertical margins. If there are any margins, it will be indicated as A1, A2, A3, etc. instead of the item name when connecting to the database. 28 2016 T.I.TENG Co., Ltd. All rights reserved

2. Option Tab - Click "Database select" to connect to external data. Select the external program (from which you have created data) on the database list and click "Next". 3. Select the file you want to connect by clicking on "...", and click "Connect" to open the data. Then, select the sheet you want to synchronize from the list and click "Next". 3. Make sure that the data is connected correctly through "Preview", and click "Next" to proceed. 4. Click "Finish" to close the Database Connect window. Caution When connecting to the database, the program you want to connect must be installed in your PC. Otherwise, the process cannot be completed successfully. 30 2016 T.I.TENG Co., Ltd. 5. Create a card design format you want to connect to the database using the Tools and Main Menu in Card Designer. (2) Connect to Database (Image) 6. 8. When the photo is connected to the database, the photo section will be replaced by the DB image. (3) Connect to Database (Text) 9. Click the text and select Text Properties, and then check the Use Database box to connect the text to the database. 11. When the text is connected to the database, the text section will be replaced by the Excel file list. (4) Connect to Database (Barcode) 12. 3 Card Printer 1) Test After installing the printer, you need to test to make sure that the MS, IC, RF, PRINT, and MISC options are set correctly. (1) MS Insert a Mag. Stripe card into the printer with the MS option. Check the tracks (ISO 1, 2, 3) you want to use, and click "Encode", "Decode" and "Encode & Decode" to test whether the printer reads and writes without any problems. 4 Image 1) Crop You can cut a part of the image which you want to edit. Click "Crop" to open a pop-up "Crop" in the top left corner of the Option tab.
