SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Please read these safety instruc ons carefully before startup your BATmode system! - Only use power supplies authorized by bat bioacous ctechnology.! - Avoid excessive mechanic strain on the BATmode system, especially on plugs and connectors if cables are connected to the BATmode or the antenna and microphone disc. Strong vibra ons, shaking or dropping may damage system parts. - Ensure a safe and stable moun ng of the BATmode and the corresponding discs. Dropping can harm persons, property or the BATmode system. - Ensure that nobody can stumble on installed and connected wires. Stumbling can harm persons and damage system parts. - Only use accessories supplied or authorized by bat bioacous ctechnology. The use of unauthorized accessories may damage the device. - Please contact our support if the BATmode system shows any damage or does not work properly. Do not open system parts and try to repair damage by yourself or through unauthorized personnel. This will cause the loss of warranty.

Antenna Disc and Magne c Base Antenna WIFI Antenna Connector Temperature Sensor Connector Cellular Antenna Connector The Antenna Disc contains a direc onal WIFI antenna. Since the direc on of the strongest signal is directed into the paper plane, the disc has to be installed with the illustrated connector side turned away from a poten al connec on partner. 4 Cellular Antenna Connector - Antenna Disc (only BATmode S+) - - Magne c Base Antenna (only BATmode S) - 4 6

UltraSoundGates 6Hnbm and 46Hnbm UltraSoundGate 6Hnbm UltraSoundGate 46Hnbm - Frontview - Backview - - Backview - + USB-.0 Interface + 4 Microphone XLR Connector 4 4 You can use an UltraSoundGate 6Hnbm for each microphone or one UltraSoundGate 46Hnbm for up to four microphones. BATmode S/S+ Systems can use up to four microphones simultaneously. 7

Microphones Microphone Disc GM50 Microphone XLR Connector (UltraSoundGate) Screws for removing the moun ng plate Reference Signal Speaker Connector (UltraSoundGate) 4 Microphone Capsule 5 Reference Signal Speaker - Front View - GM50 The Microphone Disc GM50 can either be used with the enclosed moun ng plate or with an op onal tripod. - Back View To connect the microphone and the reference signal speaker of the GM50 please use the Y-XLR microphone cable. 4 Be careful not to touch the microphone capsule and to protect it from moisture! 8 5

Microphone Disc GM90 Microphone XLR Connector (UltraSoundGate) Hea ng Connector Windscreen made of foam 4 Microphone Capsule 5 Reference Signal Speaker - Front View - Do not remove the windscreen foam, as this has an essen al influence on the calibra on of your microphone disc! To mount the GM90 in the floor of the nacelle a hole with a diameter of 00-05mm is required. - Back View - 4 5 Be careful not to touch the microphone capsule and to protect it from moisture! 9

Microphones Tower Microphone TM0 Microphone XLR Connector (UltraSoundGate) Op onally available movable tripod for tower wall moun ng Microphone Capsule For moun ng in non-magne c walls, please s ck the enclosed adhesive pads on the feet of the tripod. - Frontview The moun ng hole for the TM0 must have a minimum diameter of 4mm, as well as a maximum depth of 460mm. Be careful not to touch the microphone capsule and to protect it from moisture! 0

Remote Access via WIFI How to access your BATmode with your Windows running laptop via WIFI: Step Connect the WIFI of your Windows running laptop with the WIFI-Hotspot of the BATmode. Default SSID: BATmode Default Password: 45678" Step Open the Windows program Remote Desktop Connec on, insert the WIFI IP of your BATmode in Computer and press Connect. Default WIFI IP: 9.68.7. Step Insert the Username BAT and the Windows Password and press OK. Default Windows Password: 45 4 WIFI connec on is only available for BATmode S+.

Remote Access via LAN How to access your BATmode with your Windows running laptop via LAN: Step WWAN WIFI Use an Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port of your Windows running laptop (RJ45) with the one of the BATmode (RJ45). Step Open the Windows program Remote Desktop Connec on, insert batmode in Computer and press Connect. Step Insert the Username BAT and the Windows Password and press OK. Default Windows Password: 45 5

First Start Up Star ng of the BATmode System and the BATcontrol control so ware: Step Start the BATmode System. Step Use mouse, keyboard and monitor or connect your laptop via WIFI or LAN as described on page and. Star ng of the Aviso -RECORDER USGH recording so ware and the start of the acous c monitoring and data acquisi on of the external sensors: Step A er selec ng your se ngs on the different pages of BATcontrol, start the monitoring with a click on the Start-/Stop-Bu on. Step The recording so ware will open and the acous c monitoring as well as the simultaneous data acquis on of temperature and precipita on begin. Step To stop data acquisi on click on the Start-/Stop-Bu on or close the recording so ware. The external sensors for temperature and precipita on acquisi on are only available for BATmode S+. 7

Mobile Set Up How to set up your BATmode for SMS and mobile Internet connec on: Step Insert the Mini-SIM card in the SIM card slot (For this, the BATmode must be turned off). Step Use the Mobile se ngs in Windows to remove a possibly ac vated PIN from your SIM card. Step Insert the APN of your provider in the mobile se ngs of Windows. Step 4 Enter the number of the SMS center of your provider in SMSC-Number in BATcontrol. 8 An ac vated PIN will prevent the BATmode system to restore a mobile connec on a er a possible power failures, automa cally.

Daily Status SMS Se ngs in BATcontrol - Enable Daily Status SMS and insert the phone number of the receiver of the Daily Status SMS in Receiver Number(s). Use the interna onal format: e.g. +49598574. Use ; to separate mul ple receiver numbers. - Select the daily transmission me and the desired format. HRI: Values preceded by acronym. CSV: Values separated by commas. For more detailed explana ons of the individual se ngs, please refere to the manual. WIFI is only available for BATmode S+ systems. Test all planned remote access paths before installa on in the wind turbine.

BATbox S Use the op onally available BATbox S for an easy and safe installa on of your BATmode S/S+ system. Your advantages - Safe protec on of your expensive measuring equipment. - Easy installa on of all components of your BATmode S/S+ system. - Thermal design for use in nacelles of wind turbines. - The compact size of the BATbox S allows to use the elevator to bring it in the nacelle. - Op onally available feet allow a drill free installa on in the nacelle of most wind turbines.
