SIRIUS Modular System I Assembly and Handling I Application Monitoring I Connection to the PLC I Planning and Configuration How Can Industrial Controls Monitor Applications Effortlessly? Increased availability and investment protection through integrated application monitoring The SIRIUS Monitoring Relays do not monitor the motor so much as the complete system or driven process for overcurrent and undercurrent, cable breakage and phase failure. This way, for example, load shedding or motor overload are detected and signaled early on in the process. The RR Monitoring Relay for current monitoring is directly integrated in the load feeder. It is simply plugged onto the contactor: Click n go! The monitoring relay is available in two functionally graded versions: as version for analog setting via rotary switch and as version with keys and display for menu-guided digital setting and actual-value display and diagnostics. This digital version additionally supports fault current and phase sequence monitoring. Maximum operational reliability through advanced technology SIRIUS Innovations master even severe loads and high switching frequencies. For example, the SIRIUS Compact Starter detects all faults and effects safe disconnection of the respective load feeder in all operating states even after end of service life. With this technology, SIRIUS embarks upon completely new, innovative paths for further improved operational reliability!

Comprehensive and Consistent Monitoring with SIRIUS Innovations: Click n Go! The innovated SIRIUS range facilitates optimum operational reliability and system availability. This is amongst others ensured by the new current monitoring relays, which protect the application beyond the motor in addition to motor protection. Everything under consistent control While the system or motor is directly monitored on site by the new SIRIUS Current Monitoring Relays or the proven SIRIUS Overload Relays, SIRIUS Innovations also allow for central monitoring via the PLC: status and diagnostics data are available at all times and without major wiring costs thanks to the fast and easy connection of load feeders or the Compact Starters to AS-Interface or IO-Link. More information is available on pages 6 7. The SIRIUS Modular System, which is thoroughly thought through to the last detail, sets new standards in the field of application monitoring, thanks to its innovative switching technology! Current monitoring directly in the main circuit 5

SIRIUS Modular System I Assembly and Handling I Application Monitoring I Connection to the PLC I Planning and Configuration How Can You Easily Connect Industrial Controls and the Automation Level? Considerably reduced wiring in the control circuit, right up to the automation level With parallel wiring, individual signals are transmitted to the PLC via numerous wires or switching commands are forwarded to the load feeder. In contrast, via AS-Interface or IO-Link, the various signals and switch ing commands are bundled and transmitted via standardized connections. No matter whether direct-on-line, reversing, star-delta starter or all-in-one Compact Starter solutions: all components can be easily and rapidly connected to AS-Interface or IO-Link on the basis of the same bit pattern. 6

Simply, with SIRIUS Innovations, via AS-Interface and IO-Link: Click n Go! Thanks to the innovations in the SIRIUS Modular System, complete load feeders can now be connected to superior controls both via AS-Interface and IO-Link. This not only ensures maximum flexibility, but also further minimizes wiring costs in the control circuit and allows for the transmission of comprehensive diagnostics and status messages to the automation level. The feeders are actuated directly via the PLC; SIRIUS thus forms part of Totally Integrated Automation. Two system-based standards: AS-Interface AS-Interface (AS-i) is a manufacturer-independent bus system, connecting spatially distributed actuators and sensors in the field to the control level, in a particularly easy manner. Every AS-i master is able to control up to 6 field-distributed slaves (e. g. load feeders) per AS-i network. For this purpose, the cost-favorable and rugged system utilizes an unshielded and highly flexible -wire cable which allows for the simultaneous transmission of data and power. and IO-Link IO-Link is an intelligent, manufacturer-independent system for the uniform connection of sensors, switching devices and other actuators to the control level by means of a point-to-point connection beneath the field bus level. The electrical connection is realized via three standard cables. Up to four grouped load feeders (direct-on-line, reversing or star-delta starters in any combination) can be comfortably connected to a port (channel) of the IO-Link master via a standardized IO-Link connection. The IO-Link connection thus concentrates the control and status signals over one cable while also supporting optional transmission of comprehensive diagnostics information from the load feeder. 7

SIRIUS Modular System I Assembly and Handling I Application Monitoring I Connection to the PLC I Planning and Configuration Future-Proof System Solutions No matter how complex your tasks: with SIRIUS, you will experience unprecedented efficiency. The innovative Modular System enables optimization of numerous factors. As part of an overall concept, SIRIUS supports the realization of integrated solutions which exceed the field of industrial controls by far. Communication made easy: Click n Go! The simple plug-on connection of the SIRIUS Function Modules for AS-Interface directly to the contactor allows for the rapid conversion of load feeders (direct-on-line, reversing and stardelta starters) into communication-capable feeders which can be optimally integrated into AS-i networks. The individual load feeders are addressed simply via an integrated addressing socket. The function modules for IO-Link facilitate the connection of load feeders to IO-Link in the same manner. Also here, the function modules are simply plugged onto the SIRIUS Contactors for the assembly of fully communication-capable load feeders. The grouping of up to load feeders considerably reduces the control circuit wiring compared to conventional assembly, as IO-Link is merely connected to the first load feeder of such group. Transmission within the IO-Link group is realized via ribbon cables. As a major advantage, no parameterization or configuration is required once a load feeder is connected to IO-Link with its factory settings. Click n Go! This way, the data is available centrally in the PLC to facilitate convenient evaluation. For the first time, this allows for system-spanning diagnostics down to the last component on the field level. For example, the control and status signals of the load feeders (e. g. readiness indication, ON/OFF, group warning/fault) can be easily transmitted via AS-i or IO-Link. Furthermore, diagnostics messages which were previously not available in the automation system (e. g. operating mode, manual/on-site, limit position right/left, auxiliary or main voltage missing or device defect) can now be directly transmitted to the PLC via IO-Link. Faults are immediately located and displayed in plain text centrally or via on-site HMI displays, for rapid troubleshooting. WinCC image with clear diagnostics messages from the SIRIUS Load Feeder 9
