Introduction This document will guide you through the step by step process of installing ScaleArc for MySQL 3.0 in a VMware environment. Intended Audience This documentation is intended for Network Storage Administrators and assumes that you have experience with data storage concepts, Additional Materials Once you have successfully installed ScaleArc for MySQL 3.0 on VMware refer to the ScaleArc for MySQL 3.0 Administrator s Guide. Installation Follow the steps below to install ScaleArc for MySQL 3.0 on VMware 5.x. The first step is to create a new virtual machine through VMware client. Select the configuration for virtual machine and click on Next. Next, specify a name and location for the virtual machine. Click on Next.
Select a destination storage for the virtual machine files and click on Next. Specify the guest operating system as Linux version Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 or CentOS 6 (64-bit). Click on Next to continue.
Create the network connections that will be used by the virtual machine and click on Next. Specify the virtual disk size and provisioning policy. Click on Next to continue. Review the settings for the new virtual machine. Click on Continue to start a task for the new virtual machine.
Configure the hardware on ScaleArc MySQL Virtual Machine. Under Device Type, select the Datastore ISO File option and then browse for the ScaleArc ISO file provided to you. Under Device Status, select the check box Connect at power on. Click on Ok.
You will see the following Welcome to ScaleArc installer screen. Select the Install ScaleArc option and hit Enter. Once ScaleArc is successfully installed, on restart you will see a login prompt. This is the first time you are logging in to the ScaleArc system. Login using the following credentials: Username: admin Password : admin Select option 1 to set the IP address, subnet, and gateway of the ScaleArc system. Please enter 1 to apply the settings.
Once the network is set, you can use the same IP address in your browser to see the ScaleArc User Interface as following. Once you see the Welcome screen below, refer to the ScaleArc for MySQL 3.0 Administrator s Guide to configure, manage and deploy ScaleArc in your network.
