What's New New Features in Primavera Gateway 17 Features introduced in 17.7 An External Custom provider utility enables you to build, deploy, and maintain custom providers outside of Gateway. By leveraging Primavera Gateway SDK and sample code, partners and implementation consultants can now significantly reduce the time required for developing custom integrations. Download the Custom SDK, available from the Help menu, and build the custom provider. The provider runs outside of Gateway with the connection and meta data available inside of Gateway. The custom provider will appear under the Data Dictionary with the other providers. It can be updated and removed using the Actions menu on the provider's page. Create new business flows, schedule, manually execute and monitor synchronizations that involve external providers in same manner as those included with Primavera Gateway.
File provider now includes the ability to download files in various formats when the provider is used as the destination. This gives more flexibility for Cloud users who were previously limited to where the files could be downloaded and which file formats to use. Files can be downloaded from the Monitoring page on the Data Details tab.
Features introduced in 17.6 File provider no longer requires a deployment for each file extension. CSV, XLS and XLSX formats are now combined as one extension, and XML as a second file type extension. A file format check has also be added to business flows and synchronizations to confirm use of a valid file extension, making it easier to re-use business flows and synchronizations when the file extensions change. Sample CSV configuration files are available for download to help you quickly get started with P6 integration. For more information on how to download the files, go to http://myoraclesupport.com and view Doc ID 2269778.1 Features introduced in 17.5 Spotlight Diagram enables you to view all synchronizations that are apart of a chain. To access this feature, select a synchronization that's part of a chain and then in the Actions menu, select Job Chain Diagram.
Other Enhancements File size limit check is expanded to cover all providers, extensions, and attachments. File size limit is configured in Settings. In previous versions, only the XML file provider adhered to the file size limit check. With additional file formats supported and the ability to attach files in business flows, synchronizations, and elsewhere it's important to use the file size limit check. File Provider now supports Excel formats XLS and XLSX formats. This provides more flexibility for users to transfer data through Excel. The existing File Converters Generator and Parser work with these new formats.
Features introduced in 17.4 Spotlight View and navigate multi-project synchronizations more easily with parent job added as a breadcrumb on the Monitoring page. Click the parent job link to list all jobs associated with the synchronization. When finished, click the parent breadcrumb to return to the list. This same enhancement also is available if the synchronization is executed as Run with Review. Other Enhancements Synchronization descriptions are now included when importing/exporting synchronizations from one Gateway environment to another. In previous versions the descriptions were not included and had to be manually added File Converters are now included with import and export configuration data. Synchronizations that use File provider will now have the associated scripts created to convert CSV format files.
Entity Name for objects can now be updated by users and is included with import and export configuration data, making it easier for users to find the objects within the Source application. For example, a user wants to change the Entity Name of a Unifier project business object. She would export the configuration data, open the MetaData file, find the Project business object, and change the Entity Name from ProjectName to ProjectNumber. The file would then be imported back into Gateway. Features introduced in 17.3 Spotlight Custom Steps is now available in the Gateway GUI as an option in the business flow wizard. This feature gives you the flexibility to decide when to use custom steps with the business flow and view how it is configured. In previous versions, custom steps was uploaded with flow types but you could not control when it ran. To develop custom steps, download the External Custom Step SDK from the Help menu of the Gateway user interface. Other Enhancements A new Data Details section has been added to the Monitoring page, allowing you to search for data that caused a synchronization to fail. This feature saves time compared to reviewing the whole log.
Filter on multiple values for P6 Filter - Business Object: Project. In previous versions you could not enter a filter criteria using the same condition with multiple values -- for example, using a project code for project type and sales code. After Synchronization has been added as an option to Edit Schedule to allow a synchronization to run after another synchronization finishes. This is helpful if you have synchronizations that depend on other synchronizations to run. In previous versions, there was no option to run multiple synchronizations in a specific order. External Custom Step has been added as a new option allowing it to be executed outside of Primavera Gateway. Implementation consultants can download custom step SDK to significantly reduce the time for custom extension development.
Features introduced in 17.2 Spotlight All pages with multiple buttons now have a single Actions menu. The Actions menu contains all the same functions that are available for the page, except for the Add, Edit and Run, they remain as buttons on the page. For example in the Synchronizations page has 8 function buttons, the Add, Edit, and Run remain as buttons the rest of the functions are available under the Actions menu. This improves the user interface with less clutter of functions on the page. Other Enhancements Primavera Gateway has improved the search and filter settings, allowing the criteria to stay applied on each page until you clear the search/filter or log out. The new enhancement saves time compared to prior versions, where you were required to reenter search criteria each time you accessed a page. A new Details button on the Monitoring page provides information needed by Customer Support to assist in troubleshooting issues. Details include: Synchronization Details, Business Flow Details, Templates, Deployments, Settings, Internal Parameter Details. Changes in the UI for the toolbar and search align Gateway with other Oracle Primavera products. For example, a Search icon replaces the Search bar.
Duplicate is now Copy. Duplicate functionality was added in the previous release; the term is changed to Copy to fit with other Oracle Primavera products. Features introduced in 17.1 Spotlight Duplicate data elements such as business flows, synchronizations, and deployments. This feature -- saves time and enables you to retain the out-of-the-box configurations. The following data elements can be duplicated: Field mapping templates, business flows, synchronizations, deployments, and data dictionary provider objects Other Enhancements Save button enables you to save changes at each step rather than going through the whole wizard to save changes. For example, if you edit a business flow to change the name, you only have to go to the first step of the wizard, make the change, and then save and close the wizard. Restrictions applied to two roles -- PrimaveraGatewayAdminNoData and PrimaveraGatewayUserNoData are updated. This update prevents users from accessing the Review list of data scheduled for creation, updates or deletion, prior to sending to the Destination.
