INTRODUCTION Datacom specialises in supplying solutions to the education sector throughout Australia and New Zealand. This year, we are very pleased to have been selected as the preferred partner for the Marist College BYOD program. We look forward to working with the staff and families involved with this program which leads the way for the use of technology in the classroom. Your Device Options Datacom in conjunction with Marist College Staff have worked very hard to ensure that we supply devices designed to provide students with the best access possible to learning. The College has selected machines from Apple and HP as the preferred vendors, providing you with a range of devices types and prices. These devices are business grade machines and are renowned for their quality and reliability. It is called the Datacom Education Portal and will allow you to order your laptop at any time. This system has been customised for Marist College and will be available from the 1 st of November, 2014. Protecting your investment warranty & insurance All devices come standard with a 3 year warranty, the start date of this warranty and any ADP cover/insurance protection, is the date of delivery, which is the day your sons receives her device. At school, on the way to school and during normal day to day use your device may be at risk from accidental damage. You will find an option for either accidental damage protection or in the case of the Apple Machine s, Protecsure insurance. This cover is recommended to ensure maintaining uptime for students. Datacom are Authorised to carry out repairs on the machines up to a value of $1500.00 locally any claim will be dealt with in a timely manner. If you would like to compare this with your own insurance Vendor then please check the excess payable and the turnaround time on any claim. For the program insurance or accidental damage the excess cost per claim is as follows. 1. HP per claim excess is $60.50 2. For Apple per claim excess is $150.00 As each policy has terms and conditions the details of the policies are enclosed at the end of this document. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the policy terms and conditions for your chosen device. Please note that an approved bag is required to be purchased if you choose to select an insurance option. PAYMENT METHODS Payment is made directly to Datacom via our secure payment facility. We accept VISA, VISA Debit, Mastercard, Debit Mastercard and AMEX. Please note that a surcharge of 3% applies for AMEX only. Datacom do not offer finance however there are a number of providers that will offer 6 months interest free for the purchase. An example of this would be GEM finance http://www.gemvisa.com.au/apply.html or Flexirent offer options for finance. The details for this are below. 1. Please contact Flexirent on 1800 240 102 and your inquiry will be processed over the phone. 2. Please have the model of the laptop you want to finance and also request the Flexirent Protect Platinum which covers the laptop if this is damaged, lost or stolen. Flexirent will provide you with details of this coverage. 3. Please advise Flexirent that Datacom Systems is the reseller/partner and once you have gone through this process and they have given their approval, please email your application number to Delice Coop at delice.coop@datacom.com.au Page 5 of 11

4. Upon receiving your application number Datacom will follow this up with Flexirent and get the unit ordered. Disclaimer: Datacom are not associated or affiliated with any financial instituation or any other credit card provider. Any transaction is purely between your chosen finance provider and yourself and you are advised to read the disclosure statement and terms and conditions from the provider that you have selected. HOW TO ORDER Step One To begin, you must open a new web browser window on your computer. Once ready, please type into the address bar https://ecommerce.datacom.com.au/education/account/login/ You will now need to create a new user log in. Please click Register to proceed. Page 6 of 11

Step Two After clicking register, your browser will direct you to the registration form. You will be asked for a number of details to complete your registration correctly. Please make sure that the details provided are 100% accurate so that we can ensure the safe delivery of your computer. We will review the provided details and create your account. Once your account is created we will email your login details. If you have not heard from us within a 24 hour period, please email qldsales@datacom.com.au Once you have completed the form, click Submit to continue. IMPORTANT: IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR DETAILS IMMEDIATELY, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER AGAIN BEFORE MAKING CONTACT WITH A DATACOM REPRESENTATIVE. Page 7 of 11

You will be presented with a login screen where details must be entered. You will receive your login details from a Datacom representative within 12 business hours of placing your registration into the queue. If you have not yet received your details, please email us with your first name, last name, student s name, your email address and your phone number. Once you have completed entering your details, tick the I accept the terms and conditions checkbox and press Login to proceed. Step Three Once your login has completed successfully, you will be presented with the Student Catalogue. This will allow you to browse the products that are on offer as a part of this program. Step Four You will now be able to either proceed with the purchase by selecting the quantity and ticking the Add checkbox. To complete Step Three click Add To Basket or to view further product details, click the product name. Page 9 of 11

Step Five You will now be at the Basket stage of the ordering process. You can now adjust quantities again should you wish to. To finalise your purchase, please review the totals and click Place Order. Step Six On the Checkout screen this will confirm your order details. The order will ship direct to the school. Step Seven Please select your payment method. You can choose between Visa, Mastercard or Amex. Your invoice will be sent with the device. Should you require a copy of your invoice to also be emailed, please email a request to qldsales@datacom.com.au advising your order number. You are not required to enter a PO Reference or Company Name. Step Eight You will now be presented with a confirmation of your order. You will see the payment details at the bottom of the page. Click Place Order at the bottom. Your order will be now finalised and will be marked as Pending. You will be provided with an order number (eg: 302950). You will also be emailed a copy of this reference. You may print this or email a confirmation to another address. Your order is now complete and the device will be delivered to the school by the scheduled delivery date.
