H.264 High Profile Bandwidth requirements: Support for the following data rates with QoS enabled, bidirectional, with a 50% burst increase within 100ms window. Bandwidth estimates are based on network traffic in one direction and do not include overhead and management traffic. For this table 1 Mbps equals 1,024 Kbps which equals 1,024,000 bits per second. Frame Rate Minimum Recommended Maximum 1080p30 High Profile 4.5 Mbps per suite 9 Mbps per suite 18 Mbps per suite 720p60 High Profile 4.5 Mbps per suite 9 Mbps per suite 18 Mbps per suite Performance Packet loss < 0.1% End to end latency <150 ms Packet jitter < 40 ms H.264 Bandwidth Requirements (not High Profile) Frame Rate Minimum Recommended 1080p30 9 Mbps per suite 18 Mbps per suite 720p60 6 Mbps per suite 12 Mbps per suite 2

LAN Connection Requirements The supported LAN wiring option for the TPX HD 306M include: Home runs for TPX HD and the Touch Panel Control (Figure 1.0) For voice add-on, you will need to supply an analog line. Voice add-on is necessary to enable access to a VNOC or other help desk. The TPX HD 306M solution needs the following number of 100/1000BASE-T network connections, on RJ-45 connectors as well as static IP addresses. TPX HD 306M Default Network Configuration Required LAN connections HDXs System Component Total 3 1 4 3

Room Environment Six seats on-camera in point-to-point calls and voice activated room switching mode Four seats on-camera in room continuous presence multipoint or calls with a traditional videoconferencing system Twelve seats for off-the-call use* * Note: The TPX HD 306M ships standard with an Applewood multipurpose conference table. It is the customer s responsibility to supply chairs or order optional black executive chairs offered by Polycom. See specs below. Room Size & Floor Layout Units Room Width Room Depth Ceiling Height (min) Minimum Room Size Ft/in 18 ft 13 ft 8 ft m 5.5 m 4.0 m 2.4 m Recommended room size Ft/in 24 ft 15 ft 8ft 8 in m 7.3 m 4.6 m 2.7 m 4

Chairs Seating for the TPX HD solution may either be provided by the customer or purchased through Polycom. It is recommended for the best telepresence experience that the chairs be identical in all TPX rooms. The executive chair offered by Polycom include the following features: Low-back Seat height and tilt adjustments Ergonomic features: tension adjustment, chair tilt lock, seat height, contoured cushions, center-tilt movement Leather cushioned Casters Chair dimensions Width Depth Height Arm span Wheel base in. 23.75 26.5 39 cm 60.33 67.31 99.06 in. 26 26.5 39 cm 66.04 67.31 99.06 For customers choosing to supply their own chairs, the dimensions must NOT exceed: Arm span: 24.5 [62.23 cm] Wheel base: 27 [68.58 cm] Content Components H.239 People+Content for content sharing via VGA and audio cable(s) on multipurpose conference table People+Content IP for content sharing sent over corporate IP connection from your computer to the video conference system (no cables necessary) Content Display Option The TPX HD 306M includes an optional feature which, when enabled via software during installation, will allow users to view content on the right main display (if otherwise not in use) in addition to the content displays on the table. The TPX HD 306M will automatically determine if content is able to be displayed on the right main display. There are specific scenarios where this feature would be deployed: A point to point call between a TPX HD 306M and a 2-screen/2-camera system A point to point call between a TPX HD 306M and an HDX or other traditional video conferencing endpoint Considerations: Displaying people will always take precedence over displaying content This feature is not enabled for multipoint calls or calls where people will be displayed on all three screens (such as a call with an RPX 400 Series.) 5

Close Up Option The TPX HD 306M includes an optional feature, which when enabled via software during installation, allows the user to either zoom the center camera in for a close up view of the center two participants or out for the standard wide shot view of the participants. There are specific scenarios where this feature would be deployed: A point to point call between a TPX HD 306M and an HDX or other traditional video conferencing system (single display endpoints) Any call via an RMX or MGC bridge (including multipoint) Considerations: This feature is not available in point to point calls between a TPX HD 306M and two, three or four screen telepresence solutions Directory Support Global Directory (LDAP/H.350) Local Directory support Supports directory services via the Polycom Converged Management Application (CMA ) 5000 Configure local directory for sites without CMA directory integration or for situations where entry on the CMA directory is not desirable User Interface (Touch Panel specifications) The color Touch Panel is the interface for TPX HD suites. It enables you to place video and audio calls, hang up calls, control the audio and perform other telepresence conferencing tasks. The Touch Panel is placed within easy reach of the center seats at the main table. Below is a summary of the available tasks you may control via the color Touch Panel. Button/Function Make a call Search and directory capability Meeting Composer Hang up Description The user has the ability to dial manually or speed dial. There are 18 video speed dial buttons available (9 buttons will appear on the home screen at a time) and there are 4 audio speed dial buttons. Select suites from a local or CMA directory and use advanced search capabilities Enables the meeting organizer to initiate and control a multipoint call entirely from the Touch Panel Allows the user to end the call Audio controls Audio mute Content controls Help desk Allow the user to raise and lower audio levels Allows the user to stop transmission of audio through the microphone(s) Enable the ability to start and stop sharing content Button set up by the system administrator to place an audio call to a help desk that can assist users should they experience technical difficulties or have a question. 6

Multipoint Conferencing The TPX HD telepresence solution provides two methods for viewing participants in a multipoint conference. Room Continuous Presence: In this standard mode, the multipoint view will automatically be generated either to follow the general principles of Polycom Immersive Telepresence multipoint (all participants are present during a multipoint conference) or to fit a custom-set view configured by the conference administrator for the particular combination of sites in the conference. Voice Activated Room Switching (VARS): VARS is different from the standard Room Continuous Presence mode in that the speaker s site is the only site seen by others. The view of the speaker s site is sized to be as large as possible on all of the other participants displays. The current speaker sees the previous speaker s site (i.e., the speaker s layout remains unchanged). Layouts used in VARS are not customizable. To implement telepresence multipoint conferencing with Polycom telepresence solutions, the following components are required: Device Function Model(s) Supported Endpoints/rooms Multipoint server Global Directory Access Others Provide experience, ease of use, etc Provide multisite call capabi ity, gateway to other solutions such as SDN/H.320, Microsoft OCS, etc. Directory Call control, firewall traversal, etc. RPX, OTX, ATX, HDX, Traditional videoconferencing endpoint RMX 2000 and RMX 4000 with the telepresence option enabled and supported by Polycom s Multipoint Layout Application Converged Management Application (CMA ), HDX Directory Varies depending on network infrastructure For more detailed information about telepresence multipoint conferencing, please refer to the Polycom Telepresence Multipoint Overview posted on the Partner Resource Center web site.
