Introduction It is a proficient Dynamics CRM Plugin called Custom Auto Numbering which helps to auto increment numbers to CRM records for any entity easily. Custom Auto Numbering plug-in allows automatic generation of unique numbers for all entities across the CRM system. The format of the custom auto number can be customized to suit the business requirements. Benefits of Custom Auto Numbering It helps to auto increment numbers to CRM records for any entity easily. The format of Auto Numbering can customized according to business requirements. Here, there can be automatic generation of unique numbers for all entities across the System. Pre-requisites Following points must be followed before starting the Plugin installation: o You should login into Dynamics CRM Online. www.appjetty.com 1

Installation Installation Steps To install the Custom Auto Numbering the following steps has to be followed Step 1: Go to (Our Link) click on Download to get Solution. Step 2: On Downloading you will get AutoNumber_1_0_0_0_managed.zip (ZIP file). Extract the files from the downloaded folder. You will get WINRAR ZIP file. AutoNumber_1_0_0_0_managed.zip Step 3: Login into your CRM Account and click on Settings -> Solution www.appjetty.com 2

Click on Import to upload and install the Solution. Click on Browse button and choose the Package Zip File for Auto Numbering from the Import Solution Window Click on Next for further processing. www.appjetty.com 3

Check the box to enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution and click on Import button to Import the Solution Click on Close after successful completion message is displayed www.appjetty.com 4

Configuration To configure the Custom Auto Numbering the following steps has to be followed Custom Auto Numbering plug-in can be used for all entities with custom entities. In order to start numbering your entities you need to create Custom Auto Numbering Configuration record so that each time new record will be created the field value which you have set, will be increased by one. Procedure Go to Sales->Dashboard and click on Custom Auto Number button. Now Click on New to create a new Configuration Record. www.appjetty.com 5

A new form will pop up where you can configure an entity to apply Auto Numbering on it. Follow these steps to Configure an entity: Define the Name of the Custom Auto Numbering Configuration Record. Choose an on which you want to Apply Auto Numbering. Select an Entity Field from the list (this is the field that will be populated by the counter) on which the Auto Numbering Rule will be applied. Define Preferred Prefix Specify Minimum Length for Suffix. Specify Starting Position from which the Auto Number Rule will be applied Check the box below Is Active? Label to Activate Auto Numbering for the chosen entity. Click on save button to save the Configuration. On clicking the save button the Record will be saved and listed as shown below. All the Configuration Records for Auto Numbering will be displayed in the list. www.appjetty.com 6

Double click on a record to get a detailed view of configured entity. To update Is Active field, click on UPDATE CONFIGURATION www.appjetty.com 7

Uncheck the box under Is Active? Label to Deactivate Auto Numbering Rule on an entity. Click on Save button to update the Is Active Field To view an auto generated number for a configured entity, create a new record in that particular entity. For example if you have configured Account in Sales Module, then go to Account from Sales Module and create a new account. On saving the account, custom auto number will be generated in the specified field. www.appjetty.com 8

NOTE: The first record which will be created after establishing the auto numbering rule will get the number on the current position field plus one In case the Minimum Number Length is bigger than the length of the number on the current position field, the specified field will start with zeros in order to bridge the gap. By default Auto Numbering Rule is set for the following entities: o Account o Contact o Lead o Quote o Opportunity o Order o Invoice o Case o Product You don t need to register these entities from plug-in registration tool. But if you want to implement Auto Numbering for any other entities then you need to register them from the plugin registration tool. Registration Steps in Plug-in Registration tool For registering new entity which allows generating auto-number, following steps must be followed: Open PluginRegistration Folder which will be provided to you along with the package zip file. www.appjetty.com 9

You need to enter credentials of your CRM account and Click on Login. On successful Login it will display the list of installed solutions as shown below. www.appjetty.com 13

Now, click on Auto Numbering from the list and then click on (plugin) Microsoft.Crm.Sdk.Samples.AutoNumberService Now, click on Register New Step option. Enter Create in the Message Field as you wish register a new entity configuration. Enter the Name of the Entity for which you want to apply Auto Numbering Click on Register New Step Button. This will let you apply Auto Numbering Rule for the registered entity. www.appjetty.com 14

Uninstallation Steps: To uninstall the Solution, go to Settings -> Solutions Check on the Plugin Name and click on Delete Click on OK to Delete and uninstall the solution from CRM. www.appjetty.com 15
