Compact system in one unit Generator Paralleling Controller multi-line 2 4921240189L Generator synchronisation, protection and control True 3-phase RMS measurements, voltages and currents galvanically separated Easy-readable, separate display GSM modem connection GPC DEIF A/S Application The GPC generator controller is intended for landbased generators. The GPC is a microprocessor-based control unit containing all necessary functions for control of a synchronous/asynchronous generator. The GPC can synchronise the generator and after synchronisation carry out all necessary generator control and protective functions. The GPC contains all necessary 3-phase measuring circuits and presents all values and alarms on the LCD display. Programming is easily done via a menu structure in the display (password protected) or via the RS232 PC connection and the multi-line 2 Windows based utility software. The utility software offers additional features such as monitoring of all relevant information during commissioning, saving/download of settings and download of software updates. The GPC is a compact all-in-one unit designed for generators running: - stand-alone - parallel with other generators - parallel with the mains The GPC is well-suited for PLC-controlled systems, interfacing can be done via binary and analogue I/Os or via (optional) serial communication. The GPC carries out a cyclical self-test, displaying error messages in clear text and indicating errors with relay outputs, should any errors occur. Display The display is separate, for mounting directly on the GPC or the panel front, connected via cable (option J). GSM modem It is possible to connect a GSM modem to the GPC, enabling the transmission of SMS alarm messages to up to 5 receivers as well as the establishment of telephone line communication using the PC utility software. Standard functions Synchronisation - Frequency control with programmable slip freq. - Voltage matching possible - Breaker ON pulse at exact sync. point with programmable generator breaker delay time - Black busbar operation of generator breaker possible Power or frequency control The GPC can control the power or frequency in 4 different modes with selection of internal (programmable) or external +/-10V DC set point. By combining these all operation schemes of a generator can be implemented. The modes are selected via binary inputs or (optional) serial interface. - Fixed frequency (stand-alone running) - Fixed power (parallel with mains) - Droop (controlled frequency drop with increasing load) - Load sharing (generators in parallel, island operation) The GPC performs programmable ramp-up and rampdown of the power in connection with breaker operations. Generator protection All protection functions have definite time characteristic. - Overcurrent (2 levels) (ANSI 51) - Reverse power (ANSI 32) Reverse power can also be programmed with inverse time characteristic. 4 programmable relay outputs for alarm/trip. Measured and calculated values Generator: - Voltage (3-phase U + N) - Current (3-phase I) - Active power (kw) - Reactive power (kvar) - Power factor (cos ϕ) - Frequency (f) - Energy production (kwh) Busbar: - Voltage (3-phase U + N) - Frequency (f) Principle diagram
