Data ONTAP is an optimized, scalable, and flexible operating system for the IBM N series gateways that is designed for heterogeneous environments. Data ONTAP is designed to deliver flexible management and high availability, support business continuance, and support data retention, thereby helping reduce storage management complexity in your enterprise. Data ONTAP includes FlexShare, FlexCache, FlexVol, and Snapshot support. The corequisite 2870 feature must be specified to establish authorization for use of the Data ONTAP licensed function. CIFS (#7501 and #7551): This feature enables the CIFS licensed function, which is designed to provide connectivity to client machines so that data can be transferred via the CIFS protocol. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the CIFS licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. HTTP (#7502 and #7552): This feature enables the HTTP licensed function which is designed to provide data transfer to and from the N5300 gateways via the HTTP protocol. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the HTTP licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. NFS (#7503 and #7553): This feature enables the NFS licensed function provided you have applied a feature activation code that is made available by IBM. The NFS licensed function is designed to provide connectivity to client machines that transfer data via the NFS protocol. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the NFS licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. CFO (#7554 G20 only): Installed on a pair of N series gateways, this feature is designed to enable the transfer of data service from an unavailable controller to the other controller in the cluster. It is designed to deliver a robust and highly available data service for business-critical environments. This feature applies to the N5300 Model G20 only. FlexClone (#7504 and #7555): This feature enables the FlexClone licensed function provided you have applied a feature activation code that is made available by IBM. FlexClone is designed to enable true cloning near-instant replication of data volumes and data sets without requiring additional storage space at the time of creation. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the FlexClone licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. IBM United States Announcement 107-287 IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 7

MultiStore (#7505 and #7556): This feature enables the MultiStore licensed function provided you have applied a feature activation code that is made available by IBM. MultiStore is designed to enable multiprotocol storage consolidation across enterprises. It is designed to provide partitioning of network and storage resources and enable multidomain and multiserver consolidation on a single storage appliance. In addition, it is designed to help reduce data management cost by introducing a tiered management model enabling cost-effective administration. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the MultiStore licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. Note: The combination of Fibre Channel Protocol (#7517 or #7569) and MultiStore (#7505 or #7556) is supported only on virtual filer 0. They are otherwise mutually exclusive. SnapMirror (#7506 and #7557): This feature enables the SnapMirror licensed function provided you have applied a feature activation code that is made available by IBM. SnapMirror is designed to replicate data between one or more N series gateways. It is designed to continually update the mirrored data to help keep it current and available for disaster recovery, offloading tape backup, read-only data distribution, testing on nonproduction systems, and online data migration. This feature is also used for maintenance billing purposes. The corequisite 2870 feature must be purchased to establish authorization for use of the SnapMirror licensed function before the feature activation code is provided by IBM. SnapLock Enterprise (#7507 and #7559): This feature enables the SnapLock Enterprise licensed function provided you have applied a feature activation code that is made available by IBM. SnapLock Enterprise is designed to provide high performance and high-security data permanence to disk-based primary and secondary N5300 storage subsystems. An integrated element of the proven IBM Data ONTAP operating system, SnapLock software is designed to support the accuracy, integrity, and security of data by helping prevent the alteration of business records and allows rapid online access for long periods of time. SnapLock Enterprise allows administrators to delete entire SnapLock Enterprise volumes. However, it is designed to prevent any SnapLock Enterprise user or administrator from deleting or modifying individual SnapLock Enterprise WORM records. Operations Manager Core The Operations Manager Core (OMC) features are designed to provide a central point of control and to provide alerts, reports, and configuration tools. These tools are designed to help manage storage and content delivery infrastructure, consistent with business requirements, and help maximize availability and reduce total cost of ownership. OMC provides a license that allows the use of the OMC features on the N series machine for which they are ordered. This machine is the "managing" machine; those to be managed are the "managed" machines. All OMC features must be ordered for only the managing machine. One tier license feature must be ordered for each node to be managed, including the nodes of the managing machine. A Model A10 and G10 consists of one node; a Model A20 and G20 consists of two nodes. On the initial order, the number (quantity) of the tier features ordered defines the number of managed nodes, and the N series machine types and models, for which the feature is authorized. That number may be increased via a subsequent (MES) order by ordering the incremental number of Ops Mgr Core tier x license features (#826x). The MES order must be for the managing machine. For example, if the number of nodes to be managed is to be increased by ten, the number of #826x features, which must be ordered in the MES order, is ten. Any combination of #826x features may be included in the same MES order. It is necessary to select the appropriate tier for each N series machine you will be managing with the OMC license. Multiple N series machines are managed with one OMC license, but the support for multiple machines must be reflected in the tiers that are ordered. The relationship of N series machines to tiers, and associated feature numbers, is as follows. Machine Operations Manager feature N series type Model Number Name N3700 2863 A10 8262 Ops Mgr Core tier 2 license A20 8262 Ops Mgr Core tier 2 license N5200 2864 A10 8263 Ops Mgr Core tier 3 license A20 8263 Ops Mgr Core tier 3 license G10 8263 Ops Mgr Core tier 3 license G20 8263 Ops Mgr Core tier 3 license N5300 2869 A10 8265 Ops Mgr Core tier 5 license A20 8264 Ops Mgr Core tier 4 license G10 8265 Ops Mgr Core tier 5 license G20 8264 Ops Mgr Core tier 4 license N5500 2865 A10 8265 Ops Mgr Core tier 5 license A20 8264 Ops Mgr Core tier 4 license G10 8265 Ops Mgr Core tier 5 license G20 8264 Ops Mgr Core tier 4 license IBM United States Announcement 107-287 IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 15
