DCC Overview DCC Impact With the Support of Our Community, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge has been able to assist over 120 cancer researchers and 130 specialists in two major fields: The discovery, development, and delivery of more targeted therapy leading to the best possible outcomes. Providing the next generation of cancer clinical care and precision cancer medicine to each patient. Importance of Research. Due to new research 14.6 million alive today.. Registration Overview (Registration Closes on February 3 rd ) Registration Options All participants are encouraged to register via the website and ask their sponsors to make gifts via the website, as well. However, this year participants will be able to register for the DCC in two ways. 1. On their own via the DCC link/website, by using their personal credit cards. (preferred option) 2. Or through their Chapter. (option 2) Treasurer will receive and process registrations and use the Pex card for payment - The instructions outlined in this document can be used for either method. - Please be sure to use the registration link provided on The Pap Corps website. This link has been customized for The Pap Corps. This year participants will NOT send in their registration forms or payments to the main office. Sponsor payments will also go directly through the DCC website. - This will give participants the opportunity to manage and monitor their own fundraising accounts through the DCC website. They will be able to customize their page and check their fundraising totals. - They will also be able to share their account link with all their friends and potential sponsors via email or through their social media channels. This means that sponsors will be able to make their donations directly on the participant s personalized DCC page. Registration Through Chapter (option 2) Participants must send to Treasurer: o Completed paper registration form (included in this packet in Appendix A) o Their payment of $125 Treasurer will deposit checks at the bank and submit Deposit Forms to the main office o Deposit Forms must include name of each participant, their sponsors, and the amounts Treasurer will follow the registration process to enroll each participant on the DCC website o Chapter Pex card will be used as the payment method Pex account needs to have enough funds to cover the registration amounts (submit funding requests as necessary) DCC Pex card transactions will appear on end-of-month Financial Reports o This will allow for more accurate reporting If the Treasurer encounters a problem when entering the participant s email address during the registration process, he/she can use the following email address and password instead (refer to page 6): DCCpap@gmail.com Password: Papcorps101 Page 4 DCC Manual 2017-2018
Registration Instructions Use the Registration Link Provided Through The Pap Corps Website 1. Go to The Pap Corps website: www.papcorps.org 2. Click on the DCC banner on the homepage slider 3. Or, you can hover the mouse over the Get Involved link on the main menu and click on the Dolphins Cancer Challenge DCC VIII link from the dropdown menu Page 5 DCC Manual 2017-2018
4. Click on the red Register Here link on the top part of the page This will take you to the DCC website to begin registration On the DCC registration page, you will notice that the Team Hurricanes The Pap Corps is already selected, so you don t have to select a team. Page 6 DCC Manual 2017-2018
Step 1: Participant Information Choose a category (All those who are walking should select the second to last option - DCC 5K) Scroll down and fill out participant information Click the Next Step button Step 2: Fundraising The $250 Fundraising Minimum option is already selected leave as is o Your card will only be charged the amount you chose on step #5 Payment, and you are only responsible for covering $125 of the $250 total. Click the Next Step button to continue. Step 3: Your Account Enter an email address and password to create your account Previous DCC participants: it is possible that your email address was used for last year s registration. In this case, when you enter your email, you will get a message that says: It looks like you already have an account or We do not recognize your username and/or password If you get either message, click the Oops, I forgot my password link Page 7 DCC Manual 2017-2018
Enter your email address Click the Send Instructions button to receive an email with a link to reset your password. Open the email from haku and click on the Reset My Password link The password-reset window will open Enter a new password and click the Change Password button. Page 8 DCC Manual 2017-2018
You will get a success message You can now click on the x to close the two password-reset tabs and return to the registration tab, as shown below. Once you are back on the registration window, enter your new password. You will see a message that says your Password is Correct! Click the Next Step button. Page 9 DCC Manual 2017-2018
Step 4: Buy Products You don t have to do anything in this step because the concert is free and open to all Pap Corps participants. Click the I m Ready to Pay button. Step 5: Payment Fill in the required payment fields (name and credit card number) Enter the dollar amount you want to start with (leave at $0 if the $125 minimum will be covered by sponsor donations) The Pap Corps discount code has already been applied to cover the registration fee, leave as is. Scroll down and click the two check boxes to accept the Fundraising Agreement and the Waiver & Release of Liability Click the Register button at the bottom of the page. You are done with the registration process! You should receive a confirmation email with a link you can share with your friends or potential sponsors via email or on your social media channels. You can also use this link to login to your DCC fundraising account (with the email and password you provided during the registration process) to check your progress and see the names of all your sponsors. Chapter Walk-A-Thons Chapters can organize their own Chapter Walk-A-Thons from January through March 15 th 1. Submit a complete Event Form in advance shirts and hats will not be issued without this form. 2. Collect and deposit funds (same as any other event) checks must be made out to The Pap Corps All deposits must be made before March 28 th 3. Submit all supporting documentation to the Main Office before March 28 th Include a Deposit Form and the bank receipt Incentives (Chapter Walk-A-Thons) Promotional materials will be distributed to Chapters only after the completed Event Form has been submitted to our main office. 1. For all who raise the following: $35 Donate or Raise A Pap Corps T-Shirt $50 Donate or Raise A Pap Corps T-Shirt and Pap Corps Hat 2. New Incentives for 2018! (TBA for the categories below) Team with the most walkers Most money raised by a Chapter Largest average gift (per capita per Chapter) Note: T-shirts and hats will be available for pick-up at The Pap Corps Main Office (Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM after January 10 th. (Please contact the Main Office to arrange a pick-up time). Marker: Paper Footballs Each Chapter will receive 50 footballs Fill out the Marker Deposit Form (included in Appendix A) for each person buying markers Fill out the paper footballs with the inscriptions provided on forms Submit the Marker Deposit Form along with the filled-out markers to the Main Office Main Office must receive markers by no later than February 1 st If you run out of Markers please request more from the office. Buses In the month prior to the DCC, Pap Corps volunteers will be calling the Chapter Presidents to confirm their participation and transportation needs. Day of DCC (the number of buses available will depend on the number of people registered for the bus transportation): o There will be a bus leaving at 8:00 AM from the Target parking lot at Hagen Ranch and Boynton Beach Blvd. (Boynton Beach) anyone needing this transportation must register for the bus through your Chapter Walk representative. o 2 nd bus/pick-up will be at Deerfield Beach (Pap Main Office 1166 W. Newport Center Dr.) o Return Transportation (from the DCC/Hard Rock Stadium) Mid-Day (approximately 2:00 PM) one bus will leave the DCC to drop off at two locations (Deerfield Beach and Boynton Beach same as morning pick-up) End of Day (time to be determined by event) two buses will be available (one to Deerfield location, one to Boynton location). Sample Letters and DCC Flyer There are two sample letters included in Appendix A, which you can use to promote the DCC event with your Chapter members. Also included in Appendix A, is the DCC flyer, which you can print and distribute along with the sample letter. DCC Personalized Fundraising Page Overview Each registered DCC participant gets a personal fundraising page. This page can be personalized with a picture and a message. This is the page your sponsors will see when you share your page link. You can login to your DCC account and your fundraising page to check your fundraising total and the name of your sponsors and the amount they have donated. DCC is Saturday, February 10, 2018 The Pap Corps Chapters/individuals participation will have two options: Participate in the DCC at Hard Rock Stadium on February 10th and register by visiting The Pap Corps website: www.thepapcorps.org. Chapters can hold their own Walk-A-Thons in their community between January 1st and March 15th and will receive incentives for: 1) Largest # of Walkers, 2) Largest Chapter Walk-A-Thon $ Donation and 3) Chapters with the largest average gift (per capita). We have no expenses and every dollar we raise goes to cancer research at UM Sylvester. It is a way that all our chapters can join together as a team to raise significant funds for cancer research. At the 2017 DCC, hundreds of us wore our purple hats and we were a major presence. We were the purple wave, we had a day of fun and we raised over $200,000. Please join us this year and help us "TACKLE CANCER". The Pap Corp has a reduced registration of $125.00. If you cannot attend SPONSOR a FRIEND, reach out to family and neighbors for their support.

I feel a passion to the mission of finding a cure for cancer in our lifetime so our children and future generations will not have to suffer in theirs. I am raising money for The Pap Corps, Champions for Cancer Research. The Pap Corps, celebrating 65 years of service to the community, is the largest all-volunteer organization in the country dedicated solely to funding research for ALL TYPES of cancer. Participants walk for many reasons. I am walking in memory/honor of who was diagnosed with /died much too young from cancer. Are you a cancer fighter? Cancer s end could well be in sight!
