Version 4.0-3 1. Release 4.0-3 1.1. Purpose of Release 4.0-3 Version 4.0-3 of Visual Nexus has been released to provide the following features: Meeting Server capacity increased with single server hardware.. Audio auto gain control functionality on a meeting. Shared address book for Sony PCS endpoints. Chime will ring to notice an end of a meeting on a scheduled meeting. Supports H.460 Firewall/NAT traversal standard protocol on Secure Transport.. 1.2. Enhancements in Version 4.0-3 1.2.1. Meeting Server Meeting Server capacity increased with single server hardware. Visual Nexus Meeting Server now supports up to 600 SD endpoint for single video normal meeting at 768kbps and 250 HD endpoint for single video normal meeting at 1.5Mbps. Audio auto gain control functionality on a meeting.. Meeting Server will change the audio gain from each endpoints automatically on a meeting. Shared address book for Sony PCS endpoints. Now supports the shared address book function on Meeting Server You can have a single address book on Meeting Server to share with Sony PCS endpoint Supported Sony PCS endpoint : PCS-1, PCS-TL33, PCS-G50, PCS-XG80 Chime will ring to notice an end of a meeting on a scheduled meeting. Chime will ring to notice an end of a meeting at 10, 5, 1 minute before the end time of a scheduled meeting. You can enable/disable this chime for system wide. The chime is enabled by default. Version 4.0-3 Now you can enable/disable PowerPoint share, Application share, H.239 share for system wide. These sharing functions are enabled by default. 1.2.2. Secure Transport H.460 Firewall/NAT traversal standard protocol supported on Secure Transport. Supported 3 rd party endpoints : Sony PCS-1, PCS-TL33, PCS-G50, PCS-XG80 Tandberg MXP990 Lifesize Express 1.3. Fixed and changes in Version 4.0-3 1.3.1. Meeting Server Excluded server cascade configuration support. Meeting Server cascade configuration has been removed because Meeting Server now support maximum 600 endpoint connection with single server hardware on v4.0-3. Excluded user video change function. User video change function has been removed on v4.0-3.. Upstream video size has been changed to 4CIF on HD CP4 and HD CP8 meeting. 1.3.2. Endpoint Language selection will be set automatically on install. Visual Nexus Endpoint language will be set automatically by the install program depends on the OS language. Show/hide your preview video. You can show or hide your preview video while calling or in online status. Bug fixed H.239 content share image does not show on VNEP when start H.239 from Sony PCS-XG80. Sony has fixed this issue with the latest firmware ver2.04 released on September 2009. Please update your PCS-XG80 to ver2.04 to fix this bug. 7 of 15 VN-D015-045

Version 4.0-3 1.3.3.. Secure Transport Default tunnel protocol has been changed depend on install language. The default tunnel protocol for Japanese language has set to TCP and fro English language has set to UDP. 8 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems 2. Restrictions and Known Problems in Version 4.0-3 2.1. Meeting Server VNMP needs to reboot when VNMS reboot. When you reboot VNMS, you must reboot VNMP at the same time with the order instructed above. VNMP needs 4 minutes interval to reboot. You should stop and wait 4 minutes before you boot VNMP server if you need to reboot VNMP server while running VNMS server. Auto gain control may cause a noise when no one speaks. Auto gain control may increase the back ground noise when no one speaks. File size of Meeting Server log should not exceed 2GB. When the file size of Meeting Server log exceeds 2GB, the Meeting Server will crash. This is a restriction of Linux file system. The Meeting Server will create a log file every day and usually it will not exceed 2GB. However, if you set the detailed log option then the log may well exceed 2GB. Registration of meetings may take a while. Registration of meetings may take a while when there are many meetings created on Meeting Server just after the vnstart command on Meeting Server. Restarting the Meeting Server. Stop and immediate start of the Meeting Server process can cause an incomplete launch of the Meeting Server process. You should wait a couple of minutes before restarting the Meeting Server process. Restricted characters for User, Group and Meeting names. The following characters can not be used for User, Group and Meeting registration names on WebAdmin. &! \ <> and blank Restart of Meeting Server required when install user account license. If you use Visual Nexus Media Translator with multi tenancy server, you must change gatekeeper configuration Visual Nexus Media Translator needs to set a value of the clotho.gk.registration.policy to 0 on [Server Setting] of [Server] on VNOnline. CPn meeting needs approximately 15 seconds to start the meeting process. You will need to wait approximately 15 seconds to enter the meeting in such cases; - Add new CPn meeting - Edit CPn meeting configuration - Re-enter to the CPn meeting just finished (the last participant left the meeting) CPn meeting needs approximately 15 seconds to edit/delete the meeting. 9 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems You will need to wait approximately 15 seconds to edit/delete the meeting after the last participant left the meeting. There are no GUI installers for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and CentOS 5. There are no GUI installers for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and CentOS 5. Please install Visual Nexus Meeting Server and Secure Transport Server components with command line install procedure. LDAP SASL authentication is not supported. Please use Simple authentication for LDAP authentication. CPn meeting configuration will be converted when you upgrade Meeting Server from the earlier version to version 4.0. Please aware that upgrade procedure will convert the following CPn meeting configuration; - H.261 CP4 meeting > H.261 single video (normal), QCIF video size - H.263 CP4 meeting > H.263 CP16 CIF meeting (maximum 4videos), QCIF video size User manual and presenter controlled video layout does not work properly on CPn meeting. You can only control who to show on top left video (Channel No.1) but you can not control other channels. Upgrading the server from ver3.2 will cause the meeting parameters changed. Please be aware of the following changes on the meeting parameters when you upgrade the system from ver3.2 to ver4.0-3. - H.261/CP4 meeting >> H.261 normal meeting with QCIF video. - H.263/CP4 meeting >> H.263/CP16/CIF meeting (max no. is 4) - Multi channel meeting >> Normal meeting. System restart required after registering HD license. Please restart the system after you registered the HD license so that the HD license become available for the system. 1080i HD mode on Sony PCS-XG80 is not supported on the meeting. Sony PCS-XG80 1080i HD mode is only supported for P2P connection between PCS- XG80. You can not use 1080i HD mode with the meeting created on Visual Nexus Meeting Server. 10 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems 2.2. Endpoint VNEP and Logitech camera device driver have a problem. Logitech camera and Visual Nexus Endpoint have a problem that video image does not appear more than 30 seconds sometimes when you make a call. To avoid this problem, please use UVC(USB Video Class) driver for Logitech camera instead of Logitech camera driver. HD 720p video recording restriction. When you record HD 720p video with near end video and far end video, both video s side ends are cut off. To avoid this restriction, you must record either near end or far end video. When you upgrade you Endpoint from ver3.2, please reload your Web-cam on Endpoint Configuration. Endpoint ver4.0 will update your Web-cam capability and enable 4CIF video sending if 4CIF size is supported on your Web-cam. H.239 Share Content will fail when you share from Sony PCS-XG80 to Endpoint on P2P call. This will not happen on a meeting call. This problem will be fixed on the latest PCS-XG80 firmware ver2.04 which will be released on September 2009. Share Content annotation tool disabled after using full screen video on Windows Vista. You need to finish your call and restart Visual Nexus Endpoint to use annotation tool. VGA screen size on Share Content is not supported on meeting. VGA screen size on Share Content is only effective on P2P call. Please make sure XGA screen size is enabled on meeting when you use Share Content Aero mode needed for Share Content annotation tool on Windows Vista. When you run Visual Nexus Endpoint on Windows Vista Ultimate, Business and Home Premium, you must select aero mode to use Share Content annotation tool. You can use Share Content annotation tool on Windows Vista Home Basic though it does not have aero mode. PowerPoint document will be closed without saving the document when launches PowerPoint sharing while you open the PowerPoint document already. Please close the PowerPoint documents before you launch PowerPoint sharing. Presenter s video does not appear when you connect the Presenter meeting via Visual Nexus Media Translator. Choose the content start with Microsoft PowerPoint from the application list on Share Content. 11 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems When you open more than two PowerPoint documents, you will see the name of the document and the document name start with Microsoft PowerPoint in the application list of Share Content. Please choose the content start with Microsoft PowerPoint on this operation. Application Share will share the application process itself. When you share the application which has multiple screens in one application process, Application Share will share the whole screens to viewers. FireFox is the one of the application which can have multiple screens in one process. Visual Nexus Media Translator does not support RedHat Linux 5 and CentOS 5. Please install Visual Nexus Media Translator on RedHat Linux 4 or CentOS 4. 32bit screen colours needed when you use Content Share. Content Share does not work properly if the screen colours are not set to 32bit colour depth. Start Content Share before start recording. When you attempt to record video conference using Visual Nexus Endpoint recording function with the content you shared on Share Content, you must start Content Share before start recording. Visual Nexus Endpoint will call the meeting or contact which is highlighted on the Meeting Manager screen when you choose [Program > Call] menu. Please make sure no meeting or contact is highlighted before you choose [Call] menu. The content video is not clear or not updated promptly when you use Share Content with some 3 rd party endpoint in P2P call. There are some interoperability issues on Share Content on Visual Nexus Endpoint with Polycom VSX-7000 and Tandberg 990 when you make P2P call. There are no such issue with Sony PCS-1, PCS-TL33 and Share Content via Meeting Server. Share Content annotation tool disabled after using full screen function on Visual Nexus Endpoint on Windows Vista. Please restart Visual Nexus Endpoint to use Share Content annotation tool again. There are no such issue on Windows XP and Windows Vista Home Basic edition. VNEP becomes unstable in PowerPoint sharing when make a call with IP address. If a call is made with IP address then the VNEP may become unstable when document sharing. You had better call VNEP from the contact list or, call with H.323 alias or E.164 number. File registration/download fails 12 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems VNEP fails to register/download a document for sharing when the file size is large and the network traffic is busy or limited bandwidth is available. Unable to draw over some types of object in PowerPoint sharing You can not draw over some types of embedded objects in PowerPoint sharing. Document Sharing Synchronisation issue Using the mouse scroll wheel in PowerPoint sharing will cause synchronisation problems. Call with H.264 unsupported H.323 endpoint fails. VNEP fails to make a call with H.264 unsupported H.323 endpoint. In case VNEP make a call to H.264 unsupported H.323 endpoint, please check off H.264 video codec on Temporary network setting dialogue of VNEP before a call. If you wish to disable your H.264 codec for all calls, release v3.0-3 provides a check box [Enable H.264] under the [Tools][Configurations] menu of the VNEP. This setting will be saved by the VNEP. Office application configuration may be changed when you use data sharing. There is a restriction on the multi-media file that can be sent in Visual Nexus Endpoint In case of Visual Nexus Endpoint, multi-media files are sent through H.323 channel. For the multi-media files, please use the coding and format supported by Windows Media installed on the Windows PC on the receiving side. The video placement will be different on the Visual Nexus Endpoint connected later on Controlled type conference. This is the specification on a Controlled type conference. The Presenter can resolve this when they define the video placement. Share Content does not support desktop image sharing. When start Share Content, the shared window size will be resized to XGA in the meeting. Share Content function supports only XGA size in the meeting. Call fails when you call the endpoint which does not support H.239 protocol. Visual Nexus Endpoint can enable/disable H.239 so that you can make a call with an endpoint that does not support H.239 protocol. Uncheck [Enable Share Content] of [Tool] menu > [Configuration] menu when you make a call with such endpoint. PowerPoint full screen slide show is not supported in Share Content. You can change PowerPoint setting to share a slide show in Share Content. Visual Nexus Meeting Server SSL connection only encrypts XML/HTTP connection but not presence and document share. 13 of 15 VN-D015-045

Restrictions & Known Problems Meeting Manager participant list will not change when a chairman changes a microphone status or meeting mode from Control Panel of VNOnline. Please do not share a file including "&" and "%" in the file path name in the PowerPoint share. PowerPoint share cannot be done with a file including "&" and "%" in the file path name. Please do not share files including "&" and "%". Some applications and windows can not be shared on application sharing. There are some applications and windows can not be shared on application sharing due to security issues. - Windows Explorer window and other desktop screen. My Computer, Control Panel, Explorer and etc. - Visual Nexus Meeting Manager s window. MIC boost value can not be saved by Visual Nexus Meeting Manager on Windows Vista. Please set the MIC boost value prior to launching Visual Nexus Meeting Manager if you need to use MIC boost. Video recording does not work properly when you record multi channel meeting. When you record multi channel meeting and if there are empty channel, the video of late participant will appear from the beginning of the recorded video. The name of install folder must be within 100 characters. You can not install Visual Nexus Endpoint in a folder named with more than 101 characters. H.263 video codec on Visual Nexus Meeting Manager has interoperability issue with Sony PCS-1. Please use H.264 or H.261 video codec for P2P connection to Sony PCS-1. Visual Nexus Meeting Manager will use H.264 codec automatically by default. When you send a text message to All contacts from the user with administrator privilege, your message will be sent to all the user currently log-in to Visual Nexus instead of all your contacts. 2.3. Secure Transport Secure Transport does not support HTTP Proxy. You must reboot Secure Transport client when your PC s IP address has changed.
