* Learn how to enter a destination and operate the navigation system. Basic Navigation Operation NAVIGATION A real-time navigation system uses GPS and a map database to show your current location and help guide you to a desired destination. You can operate the system using voice commands or the system controls. To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Voice commands are always available. Steering Wheel Controls Use the steering wheel controls to say voice commands. Back button: Press to cancel a command or operation. Talk button: Press to say navigation commands. Talk Button Tips For a list of available navigation commands. The system recognizes only the commands on the list. When using the Talk button, wait for a beep before saying a command. To bypass the system prompts, simply press the Talk button again to say your command. Speak in a clear, natural voice. Reduce all background noise. Adjust the dashboard vents away from the microphone in the ceiling. Close the windows and moonroof. *if equipped

System Guidance Volume Adjust the navigation system volume. 1. From the HOME screen, select Navigation. 2. Select Map Tools, then Guidance Volume. 3. Select + or to adjust the volume, or select Mute. 4. Press BACK to exit the menus. Navigation Display and Controls Touch icons on the screen to enter information and make selections. Where To? (search) Traffic incident icon Map tools Scale Current vehicle position Toggle 2D and 3D views. Rotate the 3D view. Select the data that displays on the map.

Setting Touchscreen Sensitivity You can adjust the touchscreen s sensitivity to your fingertip. 1. From the HOME screen, select Settings, then System. 2. Select Touch Sensitivity. 3. Make your selection. Entering a Destination Use several methods to enter a destination. Home Address Store your home address in the system so you can easily route to it. Search icon, then select. 2. Select Set Home Location. 3. Select Enter My Address. 4. Enter the house number and street name. 5. Select Done or a suggestion. 6. Select the address from the list. A map of the address is shown. Select Select. When your home address is stored, you can press the Talk button and say Navigation and then Go home at any time. You can also select Go Home from the Where To? menu. Street Address Enter a street address. Search icon. 2. Select Search Tools. 3. Select Address. 4. Enter the house number and street name. 5. Select Done or a suggestion. 6. Select the address from the list. 7. Select Go!.

You can also enter a street address using voice commands. Press the Talk button and say Navigation and then Find Address. Follow the prompts. Place Category Enter a destination using a point of interest or landmark. Search icon. 2. Select Categories. 3. Select a category (and a subcategory if necessary). 4. Select a place from the list. 5. Select Go!. Recent Places Select an address from a list of your 50 most recent destinations. Search icon. 2. Select Recents. 3. Select a place from the list. 4. Select Go!.

Saved Places Save locations so you can quickly route to them. Saving a location Search icon. 2. Select a search method. 3. Find the location using that method. 4. Select Info. 5. Select Save (enter a name and select Done (if needed). You can also save your current location. From the map screen, select the vehicle icon. Select Save. Enter a name for the location. Select Done. Routing to a saved location Search icon. 2. Select Saved. 3. Select the destination from the list. 4. Select Go!.

Routing After a destination is set, you can alter or cancel your route. Map Legend During route guidance Next guidance point Queue indicator Speed limit Dashboards WARNING Using the navigation system while driving can take your attention away from the road, causing a crash in which you could be seriously injured or killed. Operate system controls only when the conditions permit you to safely do so.

Traffic The system calculates routes taking current traffic into account. If traffic conditions change during routing, the system may alter the route if it finds a faster way. Viewing traffic 1. From the map screen, select (Map Tools). 2. Select Traffic. Localized traffic reports will display. 3. Select Traffic Map. Traffic reports display in a list. Select a traffic report in the list to see a map view of that item. Detouring on your route 1. From the map screen, select (Map Tools). 2. Select Detour. 3. Select the length of the detour.
