1 Introduction This document explains how to install Citrix receiver and how to use it to remotely connect to your European Parliament standard configuration desktop environment. This will allow you to work is the same environment as in the office from any device anywhere in world with an internet connection. Giving you access to all the files and software that you can normally use only in the office. In this guide you will learn how to install Citrix Receiver and how to use it to remotely access your work desktop on an Android device. Install and connect with Android To be able to use Citrix Receiver to remotely connect to your work desktop you need: - An Internet connection - An RSA key - You must be a member of the Remote Desktop Services group - Android ICS 2 Download and Install Citrix Receiver Go to the Play Store and search for the "Citrix Receiver" application. Download and install the application. A new icon available. is now 3 RSA Authentication If you are connected to an internet network within a European Parliament building go straight to step 4 If you are connected to the internet from anywhere else you must be allowed through the European Parliament firewall. You must complete this step every time you want to use Citrix Receiver outside an EP WIFI network. Open your web browser, If your work location is in Brussels go to this address: https://bauth1.europarl.europa.eu:8 443/ It is recommended that you add the address to your "favorites" folder because you will need to repeat this step whenever you connect with Citrix from a non EP network. If your work location is in Luxembourg go to this address: https://lauth1.europarl.europa.eu:8 443/ Page 4/12
Input your EP user name (The same one you user to access the computers in the office) and tap on "Submit" Input your personal pin-code followed the current RSA key as displayed on the electronic tag. Tap on "submit". These should have been given to you by your Local System Administrator (LSA) If you do not have a personal pincode or an RSA key you may not have access to the remote desktop services. Ask your LSA for more information. Page 5/12
Select "Standard Sign-on". Tap on submit. Wait for the authentication process to complete. Once the process is done you will have 6 minutes to complete step 3 or 4. If you take longer you will have to perform this step again. 4 Setting up your Citrix Account Depending on your place of work some details of your account will change. A Luxembourg account will still work when in Brussels and vice versa. You can also set up two accounts, one for Brussels and one for Luxembourg. This way you will have a backup account if one of the servers goes down. If you are not using a European Parliament WIFI network you have to complete step 2 before setting up your account. Start the Citrix Receiver App Page 6/12
Select "Add account". On the Address field: If your main workplace is Brussels write: https://tswebbru.secure.europarl.europ a.eu Click Next If your main workplace is Luxembourg write: https://tsweblux.secure.europarl.europa.eu On Username write your EP user name, password leave blank to be prompted later On Domain write: "ep " Tap on the "log on" button. If this does not work and you are not using an EP WIFI network make sure you completed step 2 under 6 minutes ago. Page 7/12
Tap and open "Apps" Select EP 7 Desktop 5 Access and Use the Remote Desktop Remember that whenever you want to use Citrix Receiver outside an EP WIFI network you must complete step 2 (RSA Authentication). If you are connected to an EP WIFI network you only need to complete this step. Start the Citrix Receiver App Select EP7 Desktop app Page 8/12
Enter your EP password : And Click Connect Wait for the Remote Desktop to load Tap on the arrow at the top of the screen to bring up the Citrix Receiver Menu. Page 9/12
This is the menu; it allows you to navigate through the different features of Citrix Receiver Remote Desktop. Gestures menu Return to the main screen, exiting Remote Desktop but not logging off (See step 5 for instructions on how to log off). Page 10/12

On android you must press "Enter" to display written text on the remote desktop" Alternative touch control where you drag the mouse pointer with your finger around the screen Zooms in the area where the pointer is allowing for more precise control and better legibility. Opens a gesture menu explaining the different multitouch gestures that can be used to navigate on the desktop. Page 11/12
6 Quitting and Logging Off After using Remote Desktop Services it is important that you quit and log off. Failure to do this is a security risk. This is particularly important if you are using RDS somewhere outside the EP. Note that if the RDS session is inactive for more than one hour it will automatically log off and you will lose any unsaved work. The first is to open the start menu (1) and click on the log off button (2). This will end your RDS session and take you to the Citrix Receiver interface. Here simply tap the "Log Off" button.
