Special Note Regarding Upgrades Release 7.5 includes an upgrade to the Postgres database package utilized by the LSM Server. When upgrading a server from a release prior to LSM 7.2, LSM will automatically migrate the database as part of the installation process. This migration may take an hour or more to complete depending on the size of the database. During this time, the installer will provide an on-screen status update as the migration progresses. Please be patient, do not interrupt this process, and wait for LSM to raise a window indicating completion of the entire installation process. Installation Pre-requisites Linear Stream Manager 7.5 must be installed under the local Administrator user account; it cannot be installed under a domain managed account. Please enable the following required Windows Server 2008 Features before installing on Windows Server 2008 operating systems: Desktop Experience Windows Server locale must be installed in English Telnet Client feature must be installed if SDI router control by LSM is required 2013 Cisco and/or its affiliates. Open Issues in Release 7.5 CSCub46145 Linear Service Templates are not visible to users without administrative privileges. CSCub46150 Linear Service Channels are not visible to users without administrative privileges. CSCuc96733 Teletext stream information is not reported by the LSM as part of the IP input stream detection process for Media Processors. CSCud27684 The options for HLS IV publishing and Generate new key every X segments should not be displayed for HLS PlayReady configuration; these options only apply to generic HLS configurations. CSCue41659 Channel Templates do not retain the redundancy configuration when new LSC instances are created. CSCug18800 The key frame interval value may not automatically adjust properly when decimating the frame rate in H.264 streams. CSCui96632 Manual start of encodes utilizing DRM are not supported by LSM. CSCuh42227 Linear Service Channel alarms may erroneously appear as active in the channel status summary. Expanding the channel status will correctly show the presence or absence of active alarms. CSCuh84067 Changing between the Legacy and Default H.264 codecs used by the Media Processor may result in an incorrect or undesirable value for the Number of Threads parameter. After changing codecs, please review the Number of Threads parameter and verify system stability. CSCui38352 HLS Presentations for closed captioning using WebVTT and multiple audio tracks are not supported by LSM. Please access the Media Processor directly to utilize these features. CSCui40590 HSS streams may not resume after an encoder failover due to the Send EOS on Stop flag not propagating correctly from LSM to the encoder when disabled. To disable this flag, directly log into each encoder associated with an encode event, and uncheck Send EOS on Stop on the System Configuration page. CSCuj04436 Scheduled reports may appear in the Template state during the first 24 hours of a scheduled recurring event. CSCuj05072 Software upgrades of multi-channel Media Processors will proceed if the selected channel is idle, regardless of the state of the other channels. This will result in interruption of any active encoding sessions on the other channels. Please ensure all channels of a multi-channel Media Processor are idle before upgrade. 2013 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. This document is Cisco Public Information. Page 3 of 6
Open Issues in Release 7.5 CSCuj05319 Audio parameters may not be correctly populated after detecting a channel on the AnyRes Packager. CSCuj15040 LSM must be installed under the local Administrator user account; it cannot be installed under a domain managed account. CSCuj24730 Channels may incorrectly be shown as active during the software upgrade of an AnyRes Packager node. CSCuj33373 The Bulk Import window may show as Not Responding when importing channel configurations. Please allow the import to complete; the window will return to a normal state of operation. CSCuj45426 The message "Error: Encapsulator Group for '[new channel name]' no longer exists" may be displayed when creating a Linear Service Channel from a Linear Service Template. Please ensure that the Linear Service Template refers to an existing Encapsulator Group and try again. CSCze08455 After changing the license on a Cisco Media Processor, the Media Processor must be removed and re-added to the Cisco LSM grid. 2013 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. Known Restrictions and Limitations The LSM User Guide will not display on the client when launched from the LSM menu bar unless a PDF reader application has also been installed on the same local host. Cisco LSM currently supports Harris Panacea routers only. SDI failover from Cisco Media Processor models 5000/5300/7100/8100/8300/9300 will only occur when Ethernet or power loss is detected. Video loss will display an alarm, but will not initiate failover to backup. The default WCF configuration is to have authentication disabled. Node redundancy will not work if the primary node is offline before the preset is sent. Streaming Events should be scheduled an hour after a scheduled Reboot or Upgrade event is scheduled to end. Cisco LSM will only display the encoding statistics on stream 1. Using the same name for presets and preset groups is not supported. The Cisco LSM server s hostname cannot be manually mapped to the IP loopback address (127.0.0.1) in the local host file. Viewing Flash/H.264 streams via Cisco LSM's stream display window or Test Preset window may require adding Cisco LSM installed.swf files to the Global Security Settings Panel of the client's Adobe Flash Player plugin. Steps for resolving this issue: o When viewing a black Flash/H.264 stream either in the stream display window or test preset window, click the 'flash settings' button o After the browser window has opened the URL http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_ manager04.html, select "Add locations" from the drop-down list o Click 'Browse for folder...' o Navigate to the resources folder under the Cisco LSM installation directory: o Typical location on 32-bit OS: C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Spinnaker Management Console\resources o Typical location on 64-bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\cisco Systems\Spinnaker Management Console\resources o Click 'Confirm' o Close the browser o Close the Cisco LSM stream display or test preset window o Re-attempt to view the Flash/H.264 stream 2013 Cisco and/or its affiliates.
