Registration page content 1.Frequently asked questions ( have a link that goes through to the following) - I am trying to register, but it tells me that my ID Number already exists? We reply and request the ID Number from the applicant to do the necessary on our side. Once we have received the ID Number, we can lookup all records using this information, delete the older outdated/duplicate records, and provide applicants with the necessary information to unlock their PNet s profiles and update all information accordingly. FYI - The system checks the ID Number field when applicants try to register or even update their information. This is a part of the new system that allows us to clean-up the current database, to keep it as fresh and up to date as possible, by preventing applicants from continuously registering new profiles using alternate email addresses, which end up being outdated, resulting in redundant duplicate data. - I am trying to register, but it tells me that my email address is already registered? Only 1 CV may be stored on the PNet website per email address! You have the following options: 1. We can provide you with the necessary information to unlock and access your current profile on PNet, if so, please confirm your ID Number? 2. We can delete the current profile linked to your email account so that may re-register on our system using this email address. 3. If someone else has subscribed to PNet using your email address, you can register for a free email address on a website such as www.webmail.co.za and store your CV using this account. You will then need to log onto this email account each and every time you would like to take a look at prospective correspondence from PNet or 1 of our clients, or receive and apply to your job alerts. Please let us know which option you have selected? - How do you register? Standard Candidate Response I have emailed this through to you in a separate email! - I am looking for a Job at your company? Standard Candidate Response I have emailed this through to you in a separate email! - How much does it cost to use your website to look for a job? Job Seekers are able to use the PNet website for FREE! - I am encountering a problem while trying to register? (Quite a few different issues, fields not completed or completed incorrectly) If you are experiencing problems when trying to store your CV online with us for the 1 st time, please bear in mind that the system will indicate exactly why your CV has not successfully being saved, i.e. either because you have note made the necessary selection in one of the drop down boxes, you have not entered information in a mandatory field, you have not entered information in the valid format, or there is a problem with the CV attachment that you are trying to upload. Should you encounter further problems, please take note of the exact error that you are receiving so that I can assist you further? - I have forgotten my username and password? We reply and request the ID Number from the applicant to do the necessary on our side. We then send out the Unlocking your CV template that I have emailed through to you separately. - How do I reset my username and password? Once logged onto the system, Navigate to My Profile Update Login Details. You will be able to reset both your username and password here. - How do I update my CV attachment uploaded on PNet?) You will not be able to make changes to the CV that you are viewing from within the My Profile Upload CV section. You will need to update the CV stored on your own workstation, upload this new document on the system and then delete the old one from the list. Please bear in mind that the system will not allow you to delete your old CV until you have uploaded a new one. It is mandatory to have a CV attachment on our system, so this is not possible. To update your CV attachment storage on the PNet database, please do the following: 1. Log onto the system with your PNet username and password. 2. Move your mouse-cursor over the My Profile menu option and click on the Upload CV sub-menu. 3. In the Label field - type a title for your new CV to be uploaded, e.g. FullNameCV

4. Click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the directory/place where your CV is currently stored on your computer, e.g. My Documents, etc. 5. Choose the relevant CV document/file by double-clicking on it. 6. Click on the "Upload" button. 7. Your New Updated CV attachment will be uploaded and will appear in your refreshed CV List below. 8. Remember to then delete the old CV attachment by clicking on the "Dustbin" icon running along the same line as this file under the "Maint." Column. Your CV has now been successfully updated. Please remember to check that all other information is correctly updated as well, i.e. Personal Details, Skills & Experience & Job Alerts. - I am trying to delete my CV on PNet so that I can upload a new one, but it won t allow me to? Same response as above. - How do I hide my CV or indicate that I am not currently looking for a Job? It is not currently possible to hide or deactivate your CV on the PNet website. This functionality will be made available going forward, but at the moment I can only completely delete your CV from the system for you if you would like me to go ahead and do this? If so, please confirm your ID Number? Should you wish to re-register, this can quite easily be done at any point in time. - How do I remove my CV from your database? For security reasons, applicants may not delete their own CV s from the PNet system. If you would like me to immediately and completely delete your profile from our database, please reply to this email with confirmation of your ID Number? - How do I run a Job Search? Select the Location in which you would like to find work, e.g. Gauteng. To do this, drop down the window showing South Africa and click on the relevant option below. To search for International jobs, drop down the window and click on the International option at the top of the list. Any Location that loads with a + in front of it, means that when you click on the option itself, sub-locations will load. Keep in mind that most clients advertise provincially when posting their vacancies online with us. This ensures maximum exposure for the client, and a subsequent better response. Very few clients select a specific town or city. If you would like to run a Job Search across South Africa you will need to enter at least 1 word in the Search Text block to get more than 10 of the latest results. Select the Category/Industry in which you would like to find work. If you plan on searching using text words, you can leave the Category drop down as ALL CATEGORIES. If you are only planning on running your job search using a Location and Category combination, you must enter at least 1 word in the Search Text block to get more than 10 of the latest results. Select if you would like to search All Adverts, BEE Vacancies Only (i.e. AA/EE Vacancies) or Open Positions (i.e. Non AA/EE Vacancies). Select if you would like to search Any Type of Job, Permanent positions Only, or Temporary / Contract positions Only. If you would like to match specific words within the details of Job Advertisements, you will need to enter these words in the Search Text block using the following functions: 1. Space EQUALS AND, i.e. a single space between each word, will link words entered into the Text Search block with AND, i.e. bookkeeper pastel will look for all job advertisements containing the words bookkeeper AND pastel. 2. If you would like to match a full phrase, i.e. a search function with more than 1 word that you would like found together as one, e.g. Project Manager, you will need to enter the phrase in between inverted comma s or quotation marks, i.e. project manager. 3. If you would like to run a Wildcard search, i.e. find all jobs containing variables of words, you will need to use the asterisk function, e.g. financ* will find all job advertisements containing words starting with FINANC and anything else up until a space, i.e. finance, financed, financial, financing, financier, etc. electr* will find all job advertisements containing words starting with ELECTR and anything else up until a space, i.e. electric, electrics, electrician, electronic, electrical, etc. 4. If you would like to eliminate a word/words from your search you will need to use the EXCLUDE function. Let s say that you want to search for all Call Centre positions, but you don t want them to be jobs from the Insurance sector, you would enter the text as follows: call centre insurance. The system will find all job advertisements containing the phrase Call Centre, but will then exclude those positions also containing the word Insurance.

The above 4 functions may be combined within the Text Search block to create your ideal search, e.g. call centre sales financ* -insurance If you are not going to enter words in the Text Search block, please remember to remove any text currently appearing here, i.e. Text Search. Click on the Search button. Results will render from the most recently added positions at the top of page 1, through to the oldest in summary format. To view further details of a position and apply, click on the summary of the advertisement. The full vacancy details will load in a new popup window. - How do I apply to Advertised Jobs? All positions advertised by our clients must be applied to online using the REGISTER / LOGIN buttons found at the bottom of the Advert View/Details page, that is, the page where you are viewing the detailed /full description of the advertised job. If you have not registered with PNet before, your first job application will send your CV through to the relevant advertiser as well as register you online with us. This means that you will receive a username and password that you can use to log onto our system each and every time you wish to run a job search and apply to suitable vacancies, without needing to recapture your information each time. - I have applied to many jobs, but have never heard anything back from the advertiser, are my job applications going through? The PNet system will confirm in a pop-up window that your response has been submitted. This means that the application has successfully gone through. In addition to this, the response will immediately be logged in your Find a Job Application History section with the Status of Pending. Clients very often receive 100 s of responses to any advertised position, and we believe that they do their best to get back to everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. PNet has the necessary tools in place to allow communicating with any applicant quickly and effectively, including the option to automatically regret unsuitable applicants using our system. The best suggestion we could make, would be to actively follow up with each advertiser with regards to the status of your application made. All Client Contact Details can be found under the Find a Job Companies Hiring section. Please keep in mind that we only display information as provided to us by the client, and if we have been given permission to do so. - I keep on receiving the same Regret Letter for all of my applications? Similar response to the one above. - What are Job Alerts? Job Alerts is a part of the system that allows you to define what kind of positions you are looking for, and PNet will automatically notify you via email when new vacancies become available that you might be interested in applying to. This facility bypasses the need for you to visit the PNet website on a day-to-day basis, i.e. provided you have set all of your alerts up correctly. - How do I create Job Alerts? Job Alerts should be created by applying the same logic as running a Job Search, i.e. Select the Location in which you would like to find work, e.g. Gauteng. To do this, drop down the window showing South Africa and click on the relevant option below. To create alerts for International jobs, drop down the window and click on the International option at the top of the list. Any Location that loads with a + in front of it, means that when you click on the option itself, sub-locations will load. Keep in mind that most clients advertise provincially when posting their vacancies online with us. This ensures maximum exposure for the client, and a subsequent better response. Very few clients select a specific town or city. It is therefore better for you to never select less than a province when creating your Job Alerts. Select the Category/Industry in which you would like to find work. You CANNOT create an Alert linked to ALL CATEGORIES. You must logically select the most obvious category for the types of position that you are looking for. For example, accounts related positions, e.g. Bookkeepers and Accountants, will always be advertised under ACCOUNTS, positions such as Secretaries or Receptionist, will always be captured under OFFICE SUPPORT, sales posts under SALES & MARKETING, etc. If you feel that you would benefit from creating your alert under more than 1 category, then you should do this, e.g. a Civil Engineer alert should ideally be created under Civil / Building AND Engineering AND Professional. Select if you would like to be notified about Permanent and Temporary position, Permanent positions Only, or Temporary / Contract positions Only.

Select if you would like to be notified about All Adverts (Show All), BEE Vacancies Only (i.e. AA/EE Vacancies) or Open Positions (i.e. Non AA/EE Vacancies). Enter an Alert Label. This is the Text which is going to appear in the subject line of the email that you receive to clearly identify why you are receiving this vacancy, and which alert it is specifically relevant to. Alerts work off of a match between specific words entered by you in the Text Search block, and those contained within the details of Job Advertisements. You will therefore need to enter these words in the Search Text block using the following functions: 5. Space EQUALS AND, i.e. a single space between each word, will link words entered into the Text Search block with AND, i.e. bookkeeper pastel will mean that you will be notified about job advertisements containing the words bookkeeper AND pastel for your Location and Category of choice. 6. If you would like to match a full phrase, i.e. a search function with more than 1 word that you would like found together as one, e.g. Project Manager, you will need to enter the phrase in between inverted comma s or quotation marks, i.e. project manager. 7. If you would like to run a Wildcard search, i.e. be notified about all jobs containing variables of words, you will need to use the asterisk function, e.g. financ* will notify you about all job advertisements containing words starting with FINANC and anything else up until a space, i.e. finance, financed, financial, financing, financier, etc. electr* will notify you about all job advertisements containing words starting with ELECTR and anything else up until a space, i.e. electric, electrics, electrician, electronic, electrical, etc. 8. If you would like to eliminate a word/words from your applicant alerts you will need to use the EXCLUDE function. Let s say that you want to be notified about all Call Centre positions, but you don t want them to be jobs from the Insurance sector, you would enter the text as follows: call centre insurance. The system will notify you about all job advertisements containing the phrase Call Centre, but will then exclude those positions also containing the word Insurance. The above 4 functions may be combined within the Text Search block to create your ideal job alert, e.g. call centre sales financ* -insurance will mean that PNet will notify you about all job vacancies containing the phrase Call Centre AND sales AND some form of the word FINANC and EXCLUDING the word Insurance. When you receive the job alert via email, the synopsis of the vacancy will be displayed in the body of the email. If you like what you see, click on the Job Title/Synopsis to be taken to the full details of the advert on PNet, where you will be able to Login to apply to the job. - How will I be notified about new positions that are added onto PNet that I might be interested in applying to? Provided that you have successfully registered with us, as well as correctly setup your Job Alerts, you will be notified about new positions that you are interested in applying to by email. - Please could you provide me with more information about Online Courses? We forward these requests to training@pnet.co.za because we do not have any additional information on our side, so it is best that they speak to the provider directly. - I don t have access to the Internet but would like to register on your website? Unfortunately, you must have access to the Internet to be able to make use of the PNet website. You need to not only register, but also apply to suitable positions advertised by our clients to make sure that your resume is being marketed as actively as possible. Even job alerts received require you to have access to the Internet to be able to view the full details of the job vacancy and apply. We could only suggest getting a family member, friend or work colleague to register and apply to suitable positions on your behalf. Alternatively, using an Internet Café would allow you to make full use of our services. - I am trying to register the CV of a friend, but they don t have an email address? All applicants wanting to make use of our services must have an email address. Only 1 CV may be stored on the PNet website per unique email address. However, you can register for a free email address on a website such as www.webmail.co.za and store your friend s CV using this account. Your friend will then need to log onto this email account each and every time they would like to take a look at prospective correspondence from PNet or 1 of our clients, or receive and apply to PNet job alerts. - CV Advice? We don t have any response here, we don t feel that we are able to offer such advice, seeing as we don t handle any recruitment ourselves and purely provide support, so generally we send the following: PNet hosts a website for over 600 brands of Recruitment Agencies / Labour Brokers as well as numerous Job Advertisers who place advertisements for their available positions in various Locations and Categories, covering a wide variety of Job Titles or Occupations, online with us. Candidates can store their CV's on our website under the

Register your CV /Jobseekers-Register Now sections, making it available for any of the numerous recruitment agencies/labour brokers registered with us to view, each and every time they search for suitable candidates using our Applicant Search facility. In addition, candidates may search for and/or apply to any of the various jobs advertised on our website, directly with the relevant client advertising the vacancy, through utilizing our online application facility. PNet also has a Job Alert system that allows candidates to be notified of any future positions that are added onto the portal that they might be interested in applying to. This can be achieved by setting your notifications requirements up within the `Job Alerts' section of our website after having logged on. Please keep in mind that it is our registered clients who place the positions on the PNet system under the Location, Category and Job Title/Position of their choice according to their own Job Spec, or one that they have received from their client. As such, we are not aware of when new vacancies are added onto the system, or under which career field or location they would fall. It is each client s responsibility to remove job advertisements from the website once they have been filled, or if they no longer have a requirement for them to be advertised. We do not handle any recruitment ourselves, and as such, we cannot offer any advice? - Interview Advice? - Same response as above. - What does it mean when the salary shows 15K per annum? (Many applicants are not familiar with K ) K is a Latin Numeral that stands for 1000, so 15K means 15 000. - What does it mean within Application History if the Application Status is Pending? A Pending status of your application on PNet could have 1 of the following meanings: 1. The client has not yet taken a look at your response as yet. 2. The client has viewed your application, and has opted to process it independent of PNet, i.e. the only other option that would appear in the Application History section instead of Pending is Regretted. Regretted means that the client has chosen to automatically regret your application using the PNet system. In this case, you would have received a PNet Regret Letter via email. The main function of the Application History section, is to allow you to track which positions you have applied to. You will be able to see the Name of the Recruiter to whose position you applied, the Job Title of the advertisement, the Date of Application, as well as the status of the job advert, i.e. if it is still live, or if it has expired. You can click on the Recruiter name to be taken through to their individual profile on PNet with a link to their Contact Information if you would like to follow-up with them with regards to the status of your application.
