Classroom Requirements Part 1 - Minimum Hardware Requirements 1.8 GHz Pentium 768 MB Memory (1-2 GB recommended) 8 GB disk space Network connectivity to the internet Must have LAN connectivity to other machines in the classroom. Note: Each machine in the LAN must have a unique host name. Each machine must have a static host name 3
Part 2 - Minimum Software Requirements One of the following Windows versions: Windows 2000 with SP4 Windows XP Professional with SP2 Windows Server 2003 with SP1 Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or Internet Explorer 7 Adobe Acrobat Reader WinZip Apache JMeter 2.2* IBM DB2 V9.1 Express Edition * IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment v6.1 # IBM WebSphere Application Server v6.1 Supplement * IBM WebSphere Application Server Toolkit (AST) v6.1 * IBM WebSphere MQ V6.0 Trial * * - indicates software provided as part of the courseware. # - indicates software that the client must have licenses to use the product. 4
Part 3 - Software Provided You will receive a USB memory sticks containing the following files: WA1561.ZIP All other software listed under Minimum Software Requirements is either commercially licensed software that you must provide or software that is freely available off the Internet. Part 4 - Important Ghosting or Imaging Information Some of the software installed for this course will not function after changing the computer hostname. As such, cloning or imaging should not be used on a fully installed system. You can save time by extracting the contents of the USB memory stick to C:\ on a clean OS install (no other software installed) and then imaging that hard drive. After restoring the image to the other computers and changing the hostnames, you can then install the software on each computer individually by following the instructions that are detailed later in this document. 5
Software Installation Part 1 - Preparation 1. Create a user called wasadmin with password wasadmin and grant this user administrative access. 2. Restart the computer and log in as wasadmin. 3. From the USB memory stick, extract the WA1561.ZIP file to C:\ 4. Review that the following folders were created: C:\LabFiles C:\Software\DB2 v9.1 Express Edition C:\Software\jakarta-jmeter-2.2 C:\Software\WAS ND v61 C:\Software\WebSphere AST v6.1 C:\Software\WebSphere MQ v6.0 Trial Part 2 - Installing DB2 v9.1 Express Edition Note: You cannot use ghosting or disk imaging to install this software. You must install the software on each machine separately. 1. Run setup.exe from the C:\Software\DB2 v9.1 Express Edition folder. 2. On the window that appears click the link for Install a Product along the left side. 6
3. Click the Install New button. 7
4. Wait while DB2 prepares the setup. At the first screen of the DB2 setup click Next. 5. Accept the terms of the license and click the Next button. 6. Select the typical install and click Next. 8
7. Leave the default installation options and click the Next button. 8. Leave the default installation directory and click Next. 9. Enter wasadmin for the username and password. Be sure to leave the domain property empty. Click the Next button. Click Yes if asked to create the user. Note: If you can't use this password because of password policies use a password that will satisfy password policies. Make sure to tell the instructor that the DB2 software was installed with a different user and password. 9
10. Click Next to accept the defaults under the configure DB2 instances. 11. Click the Finish button to install. 12. Wait a bit while the software installs. Click Finish when the software installation is complete. 13. If you are prompted to check for updates click No. 14. Close the First Steps utility if it opens. 15. Restart the machine and login as the user wasadmin with the password wasadmin. 10
16. Start the DB2 First Steps program by selecting Start -> Programs -> IBM DB2 -> DB2COPY1 -> Set-up tools -> First Steps. 17. On the left select Database Creation 18. Click the Create Sample Database button. 19. Leave the default options for the sample database and click OK. Wait a bit while it creates the database. 20. Click OK on the confirmation of creating the database. 21. Close DB2 First Steps window. 22. Open a command line processor by selecting Start -> Programs -> IBM DB2 -> DB2COPY1 -> Command Line Tools -> Command Line Processor. 23. Enter the following to connect the database: connect to sample user wasadmin using wasadmin 24. Enter the following to connect the query the table: select * from employee 25. Make sure you see the screen below displaying all the information in the employee 11
table. 26. Enter quit and hit Enter. 27. Enter exit and hit Enter to close the Command Line Processor. DB2 v9.1 Express Edition is installed. 12
Part 3 - Installing WebSphere MQ v6.0 Trial 1. Run Setup.exe from the C:\Software\WebSphere MQ v6.0 Trial folder. The WebSphere MQ Launchpad should open up. 2. Click on Software Requirements in the navigation bar. 3. You should see a red X and the Not Installed message next to WebSphere Eclipse Platform Version 3.0.1. 4. To install WebSphere Eclipse Platform Version 3.0.1, expand it by clicking on the + sign next to it. 13
5. Click on the Network button. 6. A dialog will open looking for the IES folder which should be selected as shown below. Verify that the folder selected is under C:\Software\WebSphere MQ v6.0 Trial\Prereqs\IES. 7. Click Open. 14
8. Leave English selected in the Select Setup Language pop-up window and click OK. 9. Click Next in the Welcome window. 15
10. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next. 16
11. Leave the default destination folder and click Next. 17
12. In the Ready to Install WebSphere Eclipse Platform window just click Install. 18
13. The installation will take a few minutes after which you will see the following screen. Click Finish. 19
14. Now that you've installed the pre-requisite software for installing WebSphere MQ, the WebSphere MQ Launchpad should still be open, then click the Refresh button. 15. Now you should see a green check mark and the OK message next to WebSphere Eclipse Platform Version 3.0.1 indicating that Eclipse has been successfully installed. 20
16. Now proceed to installing WebSphere MQ by clicking on WebSphere MQ Installation on the left menu. 21
17. Click on the Launch IBM WebSphere MQ Installer button. 22
18. Select I accept the terms in the the license agreement and click Next. 19. Leave Typical selected and click Next. 23
20. Click Install. 24
21. The installation will take several minutes to complete after which you will see the following screen. Click Finish. 25
22. The installation program will open up the Welcome to the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard window. Click Next. 26
23. Answer No to the question Are any of the domain controllers in your network running Windows 2000 or later?. Click Next. 27
24. Click Next again in this window. 28
25. Uncheck all the options and click Finish. 26. You should see an icon in your system tray with a green icon which indicates that WebSphere MQ is running. 29
27. To verify the installation was successful, open a command prompt by clicking on Start -> Run, enter cmd and click OK. 28. Enter the following command to change to the WebSphere MQ directory: cd C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin 29. Enter The following command: crtmqm TESTQM 30. You should see the following message. 31. Close the command prompt window. You have successfully installed WebSphere MQ v6.0 Trial. 30
Part 4 - Installing WebSphere Application Server Toolkit (AST) v6.1 Note: You cannot use ghosting or disk imaging to install this software. You must install the software on each machine separately. 1. Run the launchpad.exe file from the C:\Software\WebSphere AST v6.1 folder. 2. On the Launchpad that comes up click the link on the left for Application Server Toolkit Installation. 3. Click the link Launch the installation wizard for Application Server Toolkit. 4. Click the Next button on the Welcome screen. 5. Accept the license agreement and click the Next button. 31
6. Accept the default installation location and click the Next button. 7. Click the Next button on the summary screen to begin installing the software. 8. When installation is finished click the Finish button to close the setup wizard. Verification of the installation 9. After the installation select Start -> Programs -> IBM WebSphere -> Application Server Toolkit V6.1 -> Application Server Toolkit 10. Accept the default location of the workspace. Be sure you do not check the checkbox and click the OK button. 11. Once the tool opens successfully exit the tool by selecting File -> Exit. 12. Close the Installation Wizard and all open files. WebSphere AST v6.1 is installed. 32
