Introduction MapInfo Stratus has added a wide range of major new features for end users and administrators which are described in the following sections: What's New in MapInfo Stratus? What's New in MapInfo Stratus? Supported Browsers Supported Languages Limitations and Known Issues in this Release 42 MapInfo Stratus Documentation What's New in MapInfo Stratus Administration Console? The MapInfo Stratus Administration Console is a web application that allows administrators to manage which maps and data are available in MapInfo Stratus application for use. Administrators can control a wide range of options including setting permissions on what data and end user functions are available to users. The new features in MapInfo Stratus Administration Console are listed below: Print Template Designer- The Administration Console has a new print template designer added to the Print Template tab. It allows you to edit, create and manage your own print templates for use in MapInfo Stratus application. Associating Print Templates with maps- The MapConfigs tab in the Administration Console has a new Print Settings tab. This allows you to associate different print templates to different map configs. Previously, all users could see every print template. Thematic Maps- The Administrator can control the availability for end users to create their own thematic maps in the MapInfo Stratus application. Summarize Data- The Administrator can enable or disable the availability of the Summarize Data in Annotation feature on MapInfo Stratus application. For more information on these features, refer to MapInfo Stratus Administration Guide. What's New in MapInfo Stratus? The new features are listed below: Thematic Maps- Now, you can create and add thematic layers to your map in MapInfo Stratus. The thematic mapping feature in MapInfo Stratus application allows you to analyze your data and display it in a variety of ways on a map. Any number of thematic map layers can be added and they can be edited and removed. A thematic map name can be of maximum 50 characters. Special characters are not allowed in thematic map names. Currently, only ranged thematic is supported. Summarizing Data Annotations- MapInfo Stratus application allows you to summarize data from any chosen layer with \ within a single or multiple map annotations. It displays the sum, average, min and max of numeric data that falls within the selected annotation(s). The functionality is available from the annotations manager and also in each of the annotation property dialogs. Concentric Ring Annotations- You can now create Concentric Rings as annotations over the map. You can user the concentric ring annotation tool to click the map or drag out a circle to choose concentric ring center and then enter the number of rings, and their radius. Geo-location- You can now locate to your current geo-location from the map center fly out. Click the Map Centre link on the tool bar and then click the Locate Me! button. Modifying Annotations- The annotation properties dialog has been enhanced to allow you to reposition, buffer and change the radius of existing annotations. MapInfo Stratus Release 42 - Release Notes 2

For more information on these features, refer to MapInfo Stratus User s Guide. What's New in MapInfo Stratus Uploader? The MapInfo Stratus Uploader tool is available for download from the Administrator Console home tab. The MapInfo Stratus Uploader remains the same as in previous release (MapInfo Stratus Release 40) and will not need to be updated. Supported Browsers MapInfo Stratus is tested on the following browsers: 1. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0,10 and 11. 2. Mozilla Firefox 33.0. 3. Safari 8.0 on Mac. 4. Google Chrome 39.0. 5. ipad (Admin Console is not supported in ipad) Internet Explorer 6 and 7 are not supported. Older versions of Firefox, Safari and Chrome are supported. ios8 is not fully supported. Please be aware that the next release of MapInfo Stratus will not support Internet Explorer 8. This browser version has significant limitations in standards compliance which impacts on our future development plans. Microsoft themselves will cease supporting the browser on January 12, 2016. Please see this Microsoft blog post regarding the minimum browser options that Microsoft will support - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2014/08/07/stay-up-to-date-with-internet-explorer.aspx?utm_ medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews Supported Languages MapInfo Stratus supports the following languages: cy (Welsh) (not for Admin Console) da (Danish) de (German) en (English - default) en_au (English - Australian) en_gb (English - British) en_us (English - American) es (Spanish) fi (Finnish) fr (French) ja (Japanese) New nl (Dutch) pt (Portuguese) sv (Swedish) MapInfo Stratus Release 42 - Release Notes 3

To launch either the MapInfo Stratus Admin Console or MapInfo Stratus in one of these languages, add a lang parameter to the end of the URL. For example: https://stratus.pbondemand.com/connect/tenantname/?lang=en_gb Limitations and Known Issues in this Release 42 Uploader Tool MapInfo Administration Console MapInfo Stratus Uploader Tool Limitations The limitations in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42 are listed below: When uploading data certain projections, geometry types and column names are not supported. The following are not supported: - Layers that contain special reserved words. See Appendix A in the MapInfo Stratus Administrator Tasks Guide for a list. - Layers that are in an unsupported projection. See Appendix B in the MapInfo Stratus Administrator Tasks Guide for a list. - Tab files containing the following geometries: Collection (e.g. a geometry comprised of a polygon + a line + a point) Multi-Point Text Ellipse When uploading TAB files that contain line or polyline features, if one or more of the features have a zero length the map legend will fail to render and you will see a failed to load map error. As a workaround, make sure that features do not contain zero length lines or polylines. In MapInfo Professional, you can use the SphericalObjectLen function to select and show the length of all the features in a table. Use SphericalObjectLen (obj, m ) in the Select Columns text box on the SQL Select dialog TAB files that have smoothing turned on for curve geometries in MapInfo Professional are not supported. Workaround: turn off smoothing prior to uploading data. Full-stop / period (.), plus (+) and ampersand (&) characters are no longer allowed in map and layer names. If your account contains existing maps or layers with these symbols in their names, then please be aware that unpredictable errors may be encountered. Workaround: Delete the affected maps on the server, then rename and re-upload your maps and layers accordingly. Known Issues The following are the known issues in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42: Bug ID CONN-16493 Description If labels are enabled for a map workspace and the column used for the labels has a '#' character, the map will fail to render in MapInfo Stratus. Workaround: if labels are required on a column that contains a '#' character then rename the column and save the TAB file prior to being uploaded to MapInfo Stratus. MapInfo Stratus Release 42 - Release Notes 4

MapInfo Administration Console Limitations The limitations in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42 are listed below: The Print Template Designer is not supported in Internet Explorer 10 and previous versions. For Japanese locale, the print designer template only supports Ms Gothic font. When adding WMS Maps geographic projections (which use degrees as units such as epsg:4326) are also supported. However you cannot add any mapping service layers to base maps that have a geographic projection. This is because the Mapping Service used by Stratus does not render maps in a form that aligns with geographic projections. The misalignment is because the standard parallel is changed as the map is panned away from the equator (this is called moving standard parallel and is a feature of all MapInfo products). The misalignment is more pronounced as you move further north or south from the equator. When adding WMS Maps Stratus will initially default to using WMS version 1.1.1. If the WMS service supports both version 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 then the administrator can enter the version=1.3.0 parameter to their WMS URL to force Stratus to use that version. If you are viewing reports from the Reports menu in Administration Console, make sure to disable any pop-up blockers in your browser as these may prevent the report appearing. List of Address Search Logs in Stratus: - Zero records are always will be reported in column 6 for the number of results returned for the search. Known Issues The following are the known issues in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42: Bug ID CONN-17614 Description Loss of Permission in case of re-uploading the same map name but with either different table or new Labels or new Object Thematic applied. Workaround: Reset the permissions on that map from Admin Console again. CONN-17057 CONN-16447 When adding WMS Maps Stratus supports only the text/plain and text/html formats for the "Get Feature Info" requests. If a WMS service only supports the application/vnd.ogc.gm format then Stratus will show Get Feature Info as being unsupported. ipad issue: Unable to see what we are typing in Add WMS Maps window. Workaround: You can split the keyboard to see the text. CONN-16290 CONN-16291 ipad issue: FMN Call out allows touch events on its body to pass to the map on ipad. ipad issue: The address call out, when shown subsequently, allows touch events on its body and links to pass to the map on ipad MapInfo Stratus Limitations The limitations in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42 are listed below: If the length of a table, view, cluster, index or column is greater than 25 then Ranged Thematic and Summarize data functionality will not work. MapInfo Stratus Release 42 - Release Notes 5

In IE browsers a warning dialog appears asking to you to confirm if you wish to see "secure content only" when requesting content from HTTP sites. Where referencing content from your own servers (such as banner images or images displayed in the map call out) and you choose to show "secure content only", then the images will not be shown. This only affects IE browsers. Workaround: Serve such content from an https end point rather than http, or Provide the images (at the time of provisioning) to Pitney Bowes Software to place in the MapInfo Stratus SaaS environment. Use http instead of https to access MapInfo Stratus (http will work for sites that are accessible without logging in (e.g. where map configurations have been granted permissions for public) If using https - advise users to choose to show all content when they see the warning dialog. In IE browsers a warning dialog appears asking to you to confirm if you wish to see secure content only when using Open Street Map as a base map. Open Street Map is not available on a https protocol. Workaround: Use http instead of https to access MapInfo Stratus. Http will work for sites that are accessible without logging in (e.g. where map configurations have been granted permissions for public) If you need to use https, then advise users to choose to show all content when using IE. The Hover events like tool-tips and name of annotation will not be supported for ipad and other touch devices. On all supported versions of Internet Explorer (IE8, IE9 and IE10) the property dialog for a TEXT Annotation is not shown when a user clicks it using the Select Annotation tool. Properties can be viewed by in the annotation manager. On IE, when user selects a feature on map & then tries to see its properties, he is unable to do when he clicks on its name. When using a point annotation for a query we will buffer the point by a value equivalent to 10 pixels in diameter and search for features that intersect the buffered point. This is the same behavior that is used when a user clicks the map to see a call out. Other geometries such as lines are not buffered in this way. Full querying of layers is not a capability of WMS services. Hence, the Stratus query functionality will appear disabled for a map configuration containing only WMS Business data. Mapping business layers on which zoom range has been applied do not appear in print preview at certain zoom levels especially the lowest and highest zoom range levels. During print preview collation larger size of images are requested as compared to the tile size present on connect. This difference in size sometimes leads to business layers falling outside their prescribed zoom range, making them invisible in print preview. In Chrome browser, in case of multiple vector layers few of the business map tiles might be missing on the map. You need to restore the chrome browser. The querying in multiple annotation will not work if you perform it on multiple geometries. Known Issues The following are the known issues in the MapInfo Stratus Release 42: Bug ID CONN-17584 Description Watermark (IE specific): If http protocol URL is used for the watermark, a security warning message on Stratus Connect Application appears. Workaround: Select No to proceed. CONN-17459 CONN-17455 CONN-17504 Watermark: Print functionality prints the original size of the image. ipad: Layer level selectivity does not show the check box filled if one of the individual layer is selected. WMS results shown in a call out can differ slightly from WMS results shown in the print PDF. MapInfo Stratus Release 42 - Release Notes 6

Bug ID CONN-16497 CONN-16887 Description Custom label styles created for individual labels in MapInfo Professional workspaces are not rendered in the maps used by MapInfo Stratus. Instead a default style and size is displayed for labels. Label style overrides will continue to work as long as individual styles are not changed. If a Time value has a non-zero fraction of a second, the Stratus Queries will fail. As a workaround, do not specify fractions of second in time values. CONN-16498 CONN-16500 CONN-16504 CONN-16505 CONN-16506 CONN-16508 CONN-16406 When rendering map symbols, the transparent background is not always rendered. Exported data containing any field with a line break will cause a new line to be created in the CSV export file. Properties of a selection made from Pick from map feature not showing when user clicks on the name of the feature made. Line properties do not appear when made inside another annotation. Point properties do not appear when made inside another annotation. When printing to PDF and where the call out information is to be included, the attribute data for WMS layers is not shown. Only attribute data from mapping service layers is shown. Radius: While importing the KML, the exact radius value is not shown.
