SE 10 / SE. 00 / SE. 4 / SE. 5 Molded plastic / metal enclosure with separate actuator Application Safety interlock switches (limit switches) with separate actuator are used where the position of doors, covers or safety screens must be monitored for safety reasons. For example, they are used together with TK8 safety combination units, up to safety category 4. Approvals The SE 00 molded plastic enclosed safety position switches and the SE 10 metal-enclosed safety position switches have been given approval test certificates in accordance with German regulations (BIA) as well as Swiss regulations (SUVA). The SE 4 and SE 5 molded plastic enclosed safety position switches have been given an approval test certificate in accordance with German regulations (BIA). Construction These compact SIGUARD position switches are available in three versions: With molded plastic enclosure and fixing dimensions acc. to EN 50 04 With metal enclosure and fixing dimensions acc. to EN 50 041 With molded plastic enclosure outside of the standards that has arisen in this form in accordance with general market requirements. Mounting dimensions when using the switch as a safety position switch are as follows: 0mm(molded plastic enclosure) Technical data 0mm (metal enclosure) and the switch must be fitted with a pin or with a stop. Operation The position switch can only be operated with the matching triple-coded actuator. Simple overruling by hand or auxiliary devices is impossible. Mounting is possible in two positions (180 apart), making it possible to have four different operating directions. The actuator with side can be repositioned every 90 ; it cannot be replaced with actuators of the standard type. A single gland entry protects against ingress of dust and water, preventing misoperation of the switch. Radius actuator SIGUARD position switches with radial actuators are particularly suitable for applications where vibration or movement is a problem. Positive opening The switch can be used in safety circuits due to the positive opening of the NC and positive closing of the NO contacts by pulling the actuator. The position switch must not be used as an end stop. Contact reliability The moving contacts are designed as double break contacts (for SE 00-.XX1, as single break contacts). This increases the contact reliability even when the switch has to be operated with low voltages and currents, e. g. DC 5 V/1 ma. The switching point of the snap action contacts is independent of the switching corrosion.
