If the database file is located on a server or network drive, you will need to manually enter the information (including host machine IP address) into the required fields if you re unsure how to do this, see page 14 and onwards Note that the Database File field must be entered exactly as it exists on the host machine you cannot use the Browse tool for a non-local database
BIZPRAC 12 DATABASE SETUP Step 16: Once you have filled in the required fields, click on Test Connection. If successful a Connection Successful window will appear. If this occurs click on Next. If you continue to experience failure during this step, it may be that you need to put an exception on port 3050 on the host machine s firewall for inbound connections. If you aren t confident in doing this yourself, you ll need to contact a qualified IT technician.
BIZPRAC 12 LICENSE VALIDATION Initial Program Registration: This occurs when Bizprac is run for the first time. You simply need to copy and paste that code when prompted. Bizprac will then connect to our license sever to validate your license. After successful registration the Automatic License Validation process takes over Ongoing Automatic License Validation: After the initial Manual Registration, each time Bizprac 12 is booted the program sends a license validation request to our licensing system. If the license is found to be valid and current, then it is returned to your machine, the license is updated and the program opens. If the system that Bizprac is installed on is unable to connect to the internet to validate the license, the program will revert to a read-only format within 7 days.
BIZPRAC 12 LICENSE VALIDATION Registration & Internet Connectivity: Bizprac 12 s license security has been designed in such a way that upon booting the program, an internet connection is required to validate the program license. If Bizprac 12 is unable to connect to the internet for 7 days or more, the program will enter a Read-Only state until such a time that an internet connection is re-established and the license can be validated. Windows Or Internet Security Firewall Settings: To ensure that you are able to open Bizprac without issue, we recommend adding an exception to your systems firewall. You will need to add Bizprac.exe to the list of exceptions to ensure that Bizprac is able to connect to the license server and be validated upon booting.

RETRIEVING A COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS The IP address you need is that of the host machine the computer that literally hosts the database. If you re not sure which computer this is, it s usually on a server, but it depends on your circumstances. Once you know which computer the database is hosted on, jump on that computer To retrieve the IP address of the computer you re on, click the Start menu Windows 7 will look similar to this You will probably find it in the bottom-left corner of your screen this is the default position. It may not be in this location so just have a look It will generally look like the Microsoft Windows icon, but on older copies of Windows may be labelled with the word Start Windows 8 & 10 will resemble this

RETRIEVING A COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS Once you find an application/program called Command Prompt, click on it You ll then see a window like this Type the command below ipconfig Then hit the Enter key on your keyboard
RETRIEVING A COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS The information you need is the IPv4 Address In the example, the IP address of my computer as shown is 192.168.100.199
RETRIEVING A COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS Whatever the IPv4 Address of the host machine is, that s the address you need to put into the Host field
STATIC IP ADDRESS The nature of a local IP address is that they are not static they can change from time-to-time, or even as often as every time you start your computer up Because Bizprac has no way of knowing that the IP address has changed, you may need to repeat this process of obtaining the IP address of the host machine To get around this, your IT professional can set a static IP address on the local network then it should almost never change Be aware that Bizprac Support staff are not System Administrators, so cannot do this for you
