Welcome I am pleased to present the latest catalog of our rustic lighting collection. Avalanche Ranch Lighting has built this style of lights since 1995, making us one of the original company s to offer unique handmade products for the lodge or northwoods look. Although we use the term rustic to describe our lights, it refers to a style not the quality. All of our lights are thoughtfully designed for maximum functionality, durability, ease of installation, and care. Each light meets or exceeds the standards and requirements of the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc (UL). Our desire is to provide lighting products for our customers whose lifestyles reflect their love for the outdoors. We re creating designs that meet the needs of home owners from border-to-border, and mountains to oceans. In this catalog, we present over 2,400 products for your viewing. But these photos only represent a small fraction of what is possible. Considering each product is available in multiple finishes, glass, diffusers, etc, we actually have over 40,000 skus. And that still doesn t cover everthing, as we can customize, create new and be a real partner with architects, designers and homeowners in setting the ambiance with lighting, which in my view, is one of the most important elements of creating a comfortable living environment. Finish Choices We offer seventeen finishes for our lights. Not all finish colors are available for every fixture. In most cases, we can make finish substitutions or combinations not shown for an extra charge. Please contact us for possibilities and pricing. Our patina stain finishes are hand-applied through multiple finishing steps and have a unique look. They have a UV protected lacquer to seal the finish. Our powdercoated finishes are custom made for us and have a low-sheen, textured look. We have our own in-house powder coating operation, which helps control quality. Note: Only the powder coated finishes are suitable for wet locations. General Information 3 Each finish is referenced by a two-digit code, e.g. 02 means Rust Patina. 4 General Information Diffuser Material Choices: Many of our fixtures require a diffuser selection to be made from the choices presented in the product information. If the fixture comes only with the shade presented, then this information will be blank. Mica: Almond (AL) and Amber (AM) The mica we use is composed of two naturally occurring materials: mica plate and shellac. Therefore, the color and intensity is highly variable and adds to its uniqueness. The mica at.015 inches thick is fairly sturdy under normal use and is easy to clean. We also lacquer coat the mica to protect its surface. AL - Almond Mica Ivory Paper (IV) This handmade material has a rough texture which gives the fixture a soft look. It is backed with styrene which adds rigidity. AM - Amber Mica Fitter Glass Choices: AS - 5.5d x 5h DT - 4.5d x 3.5h ET - 4d x 5h EW - 4d x 5h Many fixtures require a glass selection to be made from the choices presented in the product information. Not all glasses are available for all lights. OW - 5d x 4.5h IV - Ivory Paper Morus Paper (ML) This handmade material has a rough texture which gives the fixture a soft look. Bowls: Frosted Acrylic (AF) On our very largest of Crestline and Ridgemont chandeliers (36 and 48 FC or AF Bowls inch diameter), we cannot use glass bowls on the bottom. So this choice is offered for an extra charge. Also, please note that lamping is different between a chandelier with a bowl bottom vs. a mica or paper bottom. Pendant Hanging Choices: There is a choice of three ways to hang our pendants: Adjustable Stem (ST), Black Cord (BC) and Chain (CH). All include a matching ceiling canopy that can be mounted on either a flat or vaulted ceiling. BC CH ST Adjustable Stem (ST) A telescoping stem with an adjustment range of 15 (min.) to 30 (max.) inches. To increase this stem length beyond 30 inches, up to a maximum of about 12 feet, order one of the Single Stem Extension Kits. Black Cord (BC) A 14 foot black cord that can be cut down to any length. Longer than 14 foot black cord is not available. Chain (CH) Includes 3 feet of chain. To increase the chain length beyond 3 feet, up to a maximum of about 12 feet, order one or more accessory Kits. Hanging Arm Choices: In the Crestline and Ridgemont Chandeliers, Foyers and Semi-Flush lights, there is a choice of up to three styles of arms. Not all arms are available or are offered for all lights. HP- Pine Cone Arms HR - Curved Arms HT- 3 Center Pipes Pine Cone Arms (HP) There is an extra charge for this style of hanging arms. Instead of smooth pipes, this style of arm uses metal bars that are textured like a pine branch. Attached to this branch, are numerous handmade metal pine cones, and pine needles. Usually painted in the Pine Green with Rust Patina base, you can t get a more life-like metal art. Curved Arms (HR) This style of arms use half-inch round pipe which are curved from the top assembly to the edge of the chandelier band. There, the arms are attached using a bolt and nut. Three Center Pipes (HT) This style of hanging is different from the other three, in that there are three pipes that come down the middle of the chandelier or semi-flush lights. Customizations: General Information 5 All of our lighting products (with few exceptions) can be customized to the smallest element. Finishes, dimensions and details may be altered or added to a piece in order to meet specific design requirements. The nature of USA handmade, quality manufacturing allows for flexibility to create fixtures, lamps and chandeliers to fit any lodge or craftsman themed environment that will complement an interior s aesthetic. From large-scale chandeliers in western design motifs to small-scale wall sconces, a lighting piece can be tailored to fit your or your client s design needs. Since the Company s inception, we have worked with a large number of designers, specifiers and individual customers who have brought to us their ideas for completely new fixtures, modifications of existing ones or adding a new image to product series. Utilizing our in-house CNC equipment, our vast resource network of suppliers, our superior know-how in lighting fixture design and our in-house design team of artists, we have what it takes to quickly formulate product ideas and provide finished lights within eight weeks or less. Here are some ways we can customize our lights: Finish - The finish can be altered in two ways: We can use our current finishes and just change the way we apply them. Or, we can create a custom finish that matches your requirement Artwork - We can alter existing artwork (i.e. bears, trees), combine existing artwork together, or use brand new artwork you send us, including company logos. We like to stick to themes of nature on this, and we have done alpacas, stags, turtles, etc. Dimensions - We can upsize, downsize, lengthen, shorten. You name it, we ll check it out. Mounting - Many people have unique mounting situations, such as on a beam, log, junction box too close to the ceiling, junction box set among a rock fireplace, sloped ceiling, etc. We are pretty creative here, and can usually help. Try and do that with a big-box-store light! Wiring - We can wire our lights to your custom specifications, including 277 volts, double wires, etc. As long as we can meet the UL Standards, we would be happy to help. Lamping - We sometimes get requests to change the lamping in a fixture. Usually this is possible, depending on the light. For example, changing a candelabra socket to a regular medium base one, or changing the direction of the illumination. 104 Semi-Flush Lights Crestline Semi-Flush Series The Crestline Semi-Flush series has a 18 diameter and is available in two different heights: Short (about 12 ) and Tall (about 18 ). Larger diameters are available by direct mounting a Crestline Chandelier as shown on page 84. There is a choice of 2 types of bottom styles: diffuser bowl or glass bowl. The diffuser style is available in almond mica (AL), amber mica (AM) or ivory paper (IV). The bowl style is glass (FC). See page 4 for further information on these bottom types. 110 Semi-Flush Lights Ridgemont Semi-Flush Series - Large Size The Ridgemont Semi-Flush Large series has a 17 diameter and is available in two different heights: Short (about 12 ) and Tall (about 18 ). Larger diameters are available by direct mounting a Ridgemont Chandelier as shown on page 88. There is a choice of 2 types of bottom styles: diffuser bowl or glass bowl. The diffuser style is available in almond mica (AL), amber mica (AM) or ivory paper (IV). The glass style is frosted glass (FC). See page 4 for further AL IV AM FC information on these bottom types. 128 General Information Options (must be specified when fixture is ordered): Compact Fluorescent Option (CF) $8 per GU24 socket For meeting the latest building code requirements in residential and commercial applications, we can build many of our fixtures to include permanent, hard-wired electronic compact fluorescent ballasts and photometric cells. For an additional charge, the fixture will be wired to use GU24 base compact fluorescent bulbs in 13W, 18W and 26W depending on the fixture. Request a photmetric cell (for an extra charge) and this will also make the fixture Energy Star Compliant. For applications requiring 120V four pin compact fluorescent socket or high power factor 277V ballast, please contact us for a custom quote. For residential applications without special building code restrictions, we recommend using the screw-in fluorescent bulbs which are now made to replace an A19, B11 or even reflector bulbs without difficulty. Acrylic Option (AA, AB or AW) Typically adds 10% This option is available for selected fixtures. We offer three colors of acrylic; White (AW), Amber (AA) and Beige (AB). All three are sandblasted and coated for protection. Extra charges may apply. Acrylic Bowl Option (AF) AF35: $175; AF42 and AF47:$275 This option applies to the Large and Extra Large Crestline or Ridgemont chandeliers. Due to the large diameter, we must use an acrylic bowl as a replacement for the glass. This only available in frost white. Inverted Glass Option (IG) n/c Specify this option to have the glass pointed up instead of down. Only appllies to select fixtures and indoor use only. Deep Pan Option (DP) $ 15 Specify this option when ordering the Hudson or Seneca Sconce for the deep mounting pan option. This option is recommended when the installation location is not flat. 130 General Information General Information General: All of our light fixtures are rated as 120-volt, AC. Each fixture comes complete with all hardware required for installation. In order to keep our prices and shipping costs as low as possible, some lights require minor assembly, usually not requiring more than 30 minutes to an hour to complete. Avalanche Ranch Lighting reserves the right to make minor improvements to the products presented in this catalog in order to better serve the needs of our users. Accordingly, some products, along with their respective specifications, may change during the life of this catalog. UL Approved: All of our hardwired lights are UL Listed for US and Canadian markets, which means that we follow rigid standards developed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). These standards include: using UL approved parts and components, following prescribed construction and wiring guidelines and having monthly UL tests and inspections. Using UL approved lights is important not only for safety reasons, but also to meet local building codes. Only those fixtures indicated as exterior lights are UL approved for wet locations, which means they can be used either outdoors or indoors. All other fixtures are approved for indoor locations or an outdoor location protected from direct rain (i.e. a damp location.) All our fixtures come with a C-UL Listed label.
