This document includes the Readme information for the 9.2, 9.2.0.1, 9.2.0.2, 9.2.0.3 and 9.2.1 releases. Therefore, if information about the 9.2 release specifically is required, refer to the 1

Readme document contained in that release instead of using this document as a point of reference. Performance Scorecard 9.2.1 The following sections include important information about release 9.2.1 of Hyperion Performance Scorecard. New Features Hyperion Performance Scorecard 9.2.1 is a localization update release that provides translations for Simplified Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. Defects Fixed This service pack resolves these defects: The score for accountability and strategy map elements is being displayed incorrectly when using the Spanish translation. (6646586) Immediately after the application has been restarted, the ability to login multiple users is degraded. (6644031, 6643976) Changing the report date causes the application to cease operating correctly. (6644027) After logging out of the web client, the end user cannot log back in (6644014) Slow performance when accessing measure and scorecard details through the Browser View (6643994) When Hyperion Essbase is used as an external data source, periodically, the Performance Scorecard server becomes unresponsive. (6643948) Introducing a new parent domain to an existing domain causes to the domain to not be assigned correctly. (6582951) Intermittent cluster registration failures when using Hyperion Shared Services (6571079) Known Issues While deploying to an Oracle Application Server, Release 10g, the file system path for attachments is not set correctly. New or existing attachments will not resolve correctly within the Performance Scorecard application and an error will be displayed during the deployment process. A workaround can be applied to allow the attachment path to resolve correctly by modifying the hpsconfig.properties file to include the correct deployed attachment path. (667171) A connection to an external data source, for example Hyperion Essbase, cannot be created while using the FireFox web browser. In order to successfully create the external data source connection, please make use of a supported Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser. (6667721) On the application server panel in Hyperion Configuration Utility, IBM WebSphere 6 and WebLogic 9 are displayed as choices for auto-deployment. IBM WebSphere 6 and WebLogic 2

9 can only be deployed manually for this release. Do not select the auto-deployment option for WebSphere 6 or for WebLogic 9. Follow the instructions in the product installation guide to manually deploy to these application server versions. (6589838, 6589839) Performance Scorecard 9.2.0.3 The following sections include important information about release 9.2.0.3 of Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. New Features For new customers adopting this release of Performance Scorecard, support for Hyperion System 9 Application Link (HAL) Basic, HAL Advanced or the Hyperion Data Integration Management (DIM) Adapter for Scorecard will not be provided. The Hyperion Application Link Adapter for Performance Scorecard will continue to be supported for existing HAL Basic and HAL Advanced users. In order to support the bulk data extraction, updates and loading, the Performance Scorecard Import \ Export Facility has been provided as an optional component. See the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Addendum for more details. Installation Updates This release supports these products: Firefox 2.0.0.3 Microsoft Windows Vista Client Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0 3

Documentation Updates Character Support in Database Names - When using Hyperion Configuration Utility to configure a database, for the database name, you can enter only English alphanumeric characters and the dash character (-). Shared Services Addendum - All documentation for new features, enhancements, and fixed defects for System 9 security and user provisioning is contained in the Hyperion System 9 Shared Services Documentation Addendum. This document is provided with the Shared Services Installation Documentation zip file on Hyperion Download Center and on the Shared Services DVD. Known Issues A Run Time Error message is displayed when Edit is selected on the Initiative tab in the Localized Chinese version of Performance Scorecard Release 9.2.0.3. (8-516025817) A Run Time Error message is displayed when the Notes symbol is selected in localized versions of Performance Scorecard Release 9.2.0.3 (8-516025842) Defects Fixed This service pack resolves these defects: When domain designers add performance indicators, the performance indicator is not displayed properly. This does not affect the ability for non-domain designers or administrators to add performance indicators. (8-581416001) A month is missing in the measure chart when viewing a measure via a Scorecard. (8-532353756) Users are unable to apply the My View object view web page restriction when building a new security role. (8-526944918) Administrators are unable to load the annotation creator into measures via the Hyperion System 9 Application Link (HAL). (8-527564554) As part of the Scorecard Performance report, users are unable to expand collapsed measure perspectives. (8-527310170) When displaying notes in the Performance Scorecard form, dragging the maximize button onto the screen will result in the attachment not being displayed correctly. (8-526601017) Performance Scorecard 9.2.0.2 The following sections include important information about release 9.2.0.2 of Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. This service pack addresses issues relating to Shared Services, and Secure Socket Layer support. Refer to 9.2.0.2 Defects Fixed for more information. 4

Installation Updates Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) using the WebLogic Application Server When SSL is enabled while using the versions 8 and 9 of the BEA WebLogic application server users are unable to connect to the Performance Scorecard application. As a result, Hyperion licensing enforcement has been removed. Processor Support Unless specifically stated in the installation documentation, Hyperion products operate on processors that are supported by the operating system. See the Planning the Shared Services Installation chapter in the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Installation Guide for information about processor support. Defects Fixed This service pack addresses the following Performance Scorecard defects: When Performance Scorecard is deployed using SSL BEA WebLogic, there is an error connecting to the license server. The reported error is CLS0000014. If BEA WebLogic is detected during deployment license enforcement will be removed. (8-525847541) Last day of the month in time mapping tab, generate wrong date. (8-515257993) Migrating from Performance Scorecard release 4.0.5.0.3 to 9.2.0.2 is now supported. (8-522927371) The System level Date format preferences are now properly applied. (8-520442261, 8-520778558) When using the Other Dimensions option in external data source configuration, selecting more than eight depth levels no longer causes an application exception. (8-515141353) Changes made to time mappings are now saved when configuring external data sources. (8-514956365) End-of-month calculations in the Time option for External Data Source configuration is now resolved correctly. (8-515257993) This service pack addresses the following Shared Services defects: An LDAP user who logs into User Management Console may be given more permissions than he/she is granted. This problem occurs because the roles associated with a sibling group of the user s group are being granted to the user. (1-421279962) 5

When assigning users to groups in nested Organizational Units (OUs), Shared Services does not display the complete group membership information. It only displays the group membership information defined at the top level OU. (8-514570481) Where circular group memberships exist at nested levels, accurate group membership information is not being retrieved. An example of a nested relationship is where Group A is defined as a member of Group B and Group B is defined as a member of Group A. A user is assigned to be a member of Group A. Group A is in turn a member of another group (this is a nested group membership structure). Under these conditions, the user's group membership to A will not be displayed within Shared Services because A has a circular membership with B. (8-514460561) Where circular group memberships exist (Group A as a member of Group B and Group B as a member of Group A) and you are provisioning, the system freezes when group membership APIs are being called within Hyperion System 9. (8-518992111) Where users have identical common names, internal processing errors occur during provisioning due to the way in which Shared Services searches for those users. (8-515497407) Where circular group memberships exist, out-of-memory exceptions are generated. (1-287556363) Shared Services cannot communicate with other Hyperion products over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). (8-518242551) Group filters do not work for LDAP. (8-516104499) During product upgrade, when the products re-register as part of the upgrade process, the registered roles are not being updated with the upgraded product version. Therefore, administrators cannot view the roles associated with the upgraded product in the Shared Services interface. (8-515699672) If a user is assigned to groups in a nested organizational unit, those group relationships are not getting processed within Shared Services. (8-519761621) Users are not being successfully provisioned under the following condition: they exist in external directories that are configured in the CSS configuration file after another provider has been configured where circular group relationships exist. For example, the configuration file specifies these directories in the following order: MSAD1, LDAP1. If MSAD1 contains circular group relationships, users defined in LDAP1 will not be provisioned. (8-514842831) When logging into Hyperion System 9, users belonging to groups that have circular references do not show any roles associated with those circular groups. (8-513602014) In groups where circular relationships exist at the root level, group hierarchy information is incorrect. (8-511658125) If circular group relationships exist, APIs are not returning accurate group membership information. (8-518992126) 6

Performance Scorecard 9.2.0.1 The following sections include important information about release 9.2.0.1 of Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. New Features The Performance Scorecard release 9.2.0.1 supports the following additional languages: Korean, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. Known Defects Any Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Adapter integrations created with versions prior to Performance Scorecard 9.2 can not be opened with version 9.2. This problem is fixed by installing Scorecard Adapter 9.2.0.1. If you have created any new integrations, with Performance Scorecard Adapter version 9.2, you must reconnect the ports in order for them to work correctly on Scorecard Adapter 9.2.0.1 (1-397337573). Performance Scorecard 9.2 Purpose This document includes important, late-breaking information about this release of Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. Review this information thoroughly before installing Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. New Features Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard 9.2 is a localization release that provides translations for Simplified Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. Installation Updates The section includes important information about installing this release of Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard. Installation now involves performing the following tasks: 7

Obtaining a license file for Performance Scorecard and any other Hyperion product you will install. These files are available on the Hyperion Download Center. Note: If you are installing a commercial version, obtain a temporary license file. This will be replaced with a permanent license within thirty days. For product testing, development, or evaluation, obtain a temporary license. Installing the Hyperion License Server and Shared Services. Activating and configuring each Hyperion product that you install using the Hyperion Configuration Utility. Following the sequence of steps given in the Hyperion System 9 Installation Start Here and the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Installation Guide to install, configure, and get started using Performance Scorecard and other Hyperion products. Support for 3rd Party Products This release of Performance Scorecard is the last to support these products: Firefox 1.0.7 JDK Server 1.4.2_08 JRE Server 1.4.2_08 Browser Plug-in JVM 1.3.1_17 64-bit Processor Support Unless stated in the installation documentation, Intel Itanium processors are not supported on any platform. Refer to Planning the Installation in the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Installation Guide for information about processor support. Shared Services Server Name Only enter English alphanumeric and these special characters for information on the Shared Services Registration panel in the Hyperion Configuration Utility: dash ( - ) underscore ( _ ) dot (.) WebLogic 8.1 on Turkish Operating Systems Because of a WebLogic 8.1 issue, you cannot deploy Hyperion products to WebLogic 8.1 in a Turkish operating system environment. To deploy, change the locale to English and then redeploy the product. (1-237420421) 8

IBM WebSphere and UNIX WebSphere users must use the same account to install, deploy, and run all Hyperion System 9 products. You must also install IBM FixPack 10 on your IBM WebSphere Servers to ensure that Java applets work correctly. Configuration on UNIX Increasing the number of file descriptors Before installing and configuring Shared Services, set the number of operating system file descriptors to at least 1024 using the Limit command to avoid problems during deployment. Refer to your operating system documentation for information on using the Limit command. Launch Error if Hostname Contains Repeating Characters - If the hostname contains repeating characters (e.g.,.hyperion.guppy the letter p is repeated), the.hyperion.<hostname> does not resolve correctly and an error is displayed. To resolve this error, remove the following text from configtool.sh then launch the Configuration Utility: file($hyperion_home/common/config/9.3/configtool.sh): tr -s '[A-Z]' '[a-z]' 9

SiteMinder To use Performance Scorecard with SiteMinder, ensure that the following conditions are met: 1. That http://<hps host>:<hps port>/hpswebreports is protected in the SiteMinder Policy Server. 2. To use Performance Scorecard with Shared Services, that all users have unprotected access to these URLs: http://<hps host>:<hps_port>/hpswebreports/action/casintegration http://<hps host>:<hps port>/hpswebreports For more information, refer to the SiteMinder Policy Server Administration Guide. Before Installing Hyperion Shared Services Before installing Shared Services, perform these tasks: Review the Application Server Deployment and External Authentication sections in the Shared Services Readme. IBM DB2 users: Increase the applheapsz DB2 configuration parameter to 4000 using this command and restart the appropriate IBM DB2 instance: update db cfg for HUB_DB_NAME using applheapsz 4000 Migration Considerations User Management This release of Performance Scorecard supports two options for creating, managing and applying security rights to users: Standalone, using the Performance Scorecard Administrator. User security and access are managed locally. Using Shared Services Performance Scorecard provides a user migration feature that enables you to automatically generate Shared Services users based on existing Performance Scorecard users. Employee names, domain identifiers, security roles and group definitions are migrated. Note: You can only migrate users to Shared Services once. After registering with Shared Services for user management the option of local user authentication is disabled. If you migrate users to a non-native authentication server using the migration feature, be aware of the following requirements: NTLM, LDAP and MSAD: Ensure that the users to be migrated already exist in the authentication server. For Native authentication, the migration automatically creates the users so they do not need to pre-exist. 10

NTLM: That the Full Name on the User Account Setup screen on the NTLM server is specified in the following format: '<First Name> <Last Name>' (for example, John Smith) Known Issues (Can also be called Considerations) This section describes known issues in this release. If available, workarounds are provided. For information about a specific issue, contact Client Support or visit the Hyperion Web site. Accessing External Data Sources on the Solaris Operating System In order to access Hyperion Analytic Services through the Performance Scorecard External Data Sources features it is necessary to create a series of links within the directory structure and to modify the paths for accessing the shared libraries. (1-303700246) To create the series of links within the directory structure: 1. Navigate to the CreateEssLinks file located in the webappsconf/bin, under the deployed appserver structure. For example: "opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webappsconf/bin" 2. Ensure that the script file is executable. For example: Type chmod +x./createesslinks 3. Execute the script CreateEssLinks <path to Essbase Client Install folder>. For example, CreateEssLinks /opt/hyperion/analyticservices To access the newly linked directories using the modified StartHps.sh file: 1. Make a back-up copy of the starthps.sh file located in your Performance Scorecard installation directory (example opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/weblogic/8/1/webreportsdomain). 2. Create a new starthps.sh by including the following contents: #! /bin/csh setenv ARBORPATH /opt/hyperion/analyticservices setenv ESSLANG "English_UnitedStates.Latin1@Binary" setenv PATH /opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webappsconf/bin:/opt/hy perion/common/css/9.2.0/bin:/opt/hyperion/common/cls/9.2.0/bin/solaris:$path setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webappsconf/bin:/opt/hy perion/common/css/9.2.0/bin:$arborpath/bin setenv LIB_PATH /opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webappsconf/bin:/opt/hy 11

perion/common/css/9.2.0/bin:$arborpath/ setenv CLASSPATH /opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webreportsdomain/weba pps/hpswebreports/web- INF/lib/EccpressoAll.jar:/opt/Hyperion/hps/9.2/AppServer/InstalledApps/WebLogic/8.1/ webreportsdomain/webapps/hpswebreports/web- INF/lib/flexlm.jar:/opt/Hyperion/hps/9.2/AppServer/InstalledApps/WebLogic/8.1/webrep ortsdomain/webapps/hpswebreports/web-inf/lib/flexlmutil.jar setenv JAVA_OPTIONS "-server -Xms256m -Xmx1024m" /opt/hyperion/hps/9.2/appserver/installedapps/weblogic/8.1/webreportsdomain/webr eportserver.sh 3. Make the file an executable. Type chmod +x starthps.sh. 4. Startup the Performance Scorecard application. Configuration Utility When running the Hyperion Configuration Utility after upgrading products from release 4.1.0.0 to release 9.2.0, the product selection page may display multiple listings for a product or may not list the product you are trying to configure. If this problem occurs, perform these steps: 1. Navigate to the following directory: (Windows): <HYPERION_HOME>\common\config\product\hps\9.2.0.0 (UNIX): <HYPERION_HOME>/common/config/product/9.2.0.0 Where <HYPERION_HOME> is the Hyperion Home location on the machine and <product> is the product name or abbreviation, for example: c:\hyperion\common\config\product\hps\9.2.0.0 2. Delete the oldest *.xml file from this directory. For example, if the directory contains two files named planning_1.xml and planning_2.xml, delete the older file. 3. Re-run the Configuration Utility. Hostnames You must enter hostnames (computer names) in English only during product installation and configuration. For example, when registering with Shared Services in the Hyperion Configuration Utility, the Shared Services server name should be entered in English. (1-215194141) Incorrect Translation of Cancel Button in Product Installers Some product installers display an incorrect translation of the Cancel button. (1-232246171) 12

Running Installers in Graphical Mode on UNIX Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese locales: If you see square blocks on the installer running in graphical mode, run the installer in console mode. (1-225327495) Migrating HYPERION_HOME The Hyperion Home Migration Utility does not read the HYPERION_HOME environment variable even if it is already set. To migrate the HYPERION_HOME directory, open and close a command window before migrating a second time. This problem occurs in Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Russian. (1-203998684) Launching the User Management Console from Start Menu on Windows XP Korean WebSphere 5.1.1.7 users cannot access the User Management Console using the Windows Start menu shortcut. Use the URL http://localhost:58080/interop/index.jsp to launch the console. (1-241779801) Japanese Translation of Result Collector The Result Collector checkbox label is missing on the Initiative Filters tab; however, the option is still available. Turkish Keyboard Entry in Shared Services Registration Pane On the Shared Services registration/deregistration panel in the Configuration Utility, you cannot enter an IP address in the Server text box. Enter the host name instead of the IP address in the Server text box. (1-220531027) Language List in Italian Installer If you are using AIX 5.2, the Language Selection drop-down list is displayed behind the window. (1-242110895) Language List in Portuguese Installer The drop-down list on the Language Selection panel in the installer incorrectly displays Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Portuguese selections in Portuguese characters. All other language selections are displayed in English. (1-220188376) Language List in Turkish Installer Several languages on the Language Selection panel in the installer are incorrectly displayed in English. (1-230485951) Russian Installers Display English Button The OK button on the Language Selection panel is displayed in English. (1-228824221) Russian Keyboard Shortcuts Shortcuts in the installer and the Configuration Utility do not work. (1-205984971) 13

Russian and Simplified Chinese Characters in Console Mode If you are using HP-UX Itanium, incorrect characters display in the Configuration Utility, the Hyperion Home Migration Utility, and if you use the Hyperion License Server installer in console mode. (1-206616898) Using the Configuration Utility if Temporary XML Files Exist on UNIX Application server deployment or web server configuration tasks may fail if the temporary folder (defined by the TEMP environment variable) contains *-build.xml files created by another user. Ensure that *-build.xml files do not exist in the temporary folder before running Hyperion Configuration Utility. (1-246275191) External Authentication Users with empty passwords are not supported. Microsoft Active Directory sp2 and earlier releases of Hyperion applications are known to have connectivity issues over SSL. To resolve such issues, refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;enus;q320711 Hyperion Remote Authentication Module 9.0.x does not support SSL connections on AIX. Hyperion System 9 BI+ Scorecard Refresh - When accessing scorecards from the Hyperion System 9 BI+ Workspace Desktop view in which scorecard is displayed, the content view pane becomes blank. Workaround Select the Scorecard module from the Explorer View to refresh scorecard. (1-122547563) PDF Performance Indicator Display - Hyperion System 9 BI+ Interactive Reporting enables you to generate PDF output for Hyperion System 9 BI+ Performance Scorecard Reports. The sample reports included with this version of Hyperion System 9 BI+ Performance Scorecard support the dynamic display of performance indicators in the reports. These status indicators will not be displayed correctly in the PDF generated output. (1-91471037) Domains If you have trouble associating a Strategy map with a domain, add, remove, and then re-apply the domain. (1-243933424) Language Settings Turkish Locale If you enabled pre-compile options during the deployment, you cannot deploy to IBM WebSphere 5.1 on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. To resolve this issue, recompile on an English locale and deploy to a Turkish locale. IBM WebSphere Cluster Configuration If you use Performance Scorecard in an IBM WebSphere cluster, manually set the log file parameter in HPSconfig.properties. Change the HPS log file parameter from: 14

Y:webappsconf\\log\\HPSWebReports-$CLUSTER_MEMBER$.log To: Y:\\log\\HPSWebReports-$CLUSTER_MEMBER$.log Y is the shared drive that all computers in the cluster access. Defects Fixed This section identifies the defects that have been resolve in this release. Scorecards Printing Scorecards in PDF Columns containing long measure and perspective names now print correctly. Security Domain Scorecard Assignment In previous releases, modifying scorecard permissions for scorecards associated with two domains resulted in access being given to both domains. This behavior has been corrected to ensure that domain access rights are applied as expected. Web Page Restrictions for Level Business Objects When a web page restriction was added in the security role assignment for scorecards, maps, initiatives and alerts, the top level display of these objects was retained in My View and the Browser View. You can now remove Strategy, Accountability and Cause and Effect maps, alerts, measures, employees and initiatives from view using the Section of View Navigation option in the Web Page Restriction Setup screen. For example: Employee Scorecard Section of View Navigation Tree Accountability Scorecard Section of View Navigation Tree Cause and Effect Map Section of View Navigation Tree Strategy Section of View Navigation Tree Initiative Section of View Navigation Tree Measure Section of View Navigation Tree Alert Section of View Navigation Tree Initiatives The initiative collection date, not the due date, determines when an initiative will be visible in a future period. (1-208271122) Annotations Visible line breaks have been removed from annotations. Tips and Troubleshooting Hyperion urges you to use the following recommendations: When applying Performance Scorecard security roles to a large number of users in Hyperion System 9 Shared Services, create the users in Hyperion System 9 Shared Services and then select the Synchronize with Shared Services option in Performance Scorecard to automatically assign security roles and employee records to the users. If you are going to deploy the Alerter to a Web application server cluster, a single instance of Alerter to avoid repeated and unwanted e-mail notifications. Do not use any restricted names or characters when naming databases, dimensions, members, aliases, or dimension measure templates, as you may be unable to generate a Hyperion System 9 Enterprise Analytics database from Performance Scorecard. For a list of restricted names and characters, refer to the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Administrator s Guide. Back up all attachments for initiatives, employee profiles, and notes, in addition to status symbols before uninstalling or updating your application server, as these files will be removed during the installation process. Refer to the Hyperion System 9 Performance Scorecard Administrator s Guide for information about backing up attachments. Specify an application framework before creating Strategy, Accountability, and Cause and Effect maps since this determines the default map element hierarchy and ordering. Do not delete a performance indicator to which measure or scorecard ranges are attached as all ranges are also removed. Avoid having multiple browser sessions open simultaneously on the same computer. Because Internet Explorer shares session between computers, multiple logins may cause problems. If you have multiple browser windows open on the same computer, the session is shared across the browser windows. Exit all pages by clicking Save to avoid losing data. 17
