Description The TruVision Device Manager is standalone software that can discover TruVision IP devices such as IP cameras, encoders, decoders, DVRs, and NVRs on a network. This manual explains how to use the TruVision Device Manager to find and configure network related settings of TruVision devices, and to upgrade the firmware of individual devices or perform a bulk upgrade. Note: Remove all previous versions of Device Manager from the computer before installing an updated version of the Device Manager software. Device finder The Device Finder searches for online devices within the local network and displays network information for the devices. Search for active devices online After launching Device Manager, the Device Finder window appears. It automatically searches every 15 seconds for the online devices in the computer s local network and then displays the information for the found devices. The device information displayed includes the device type, IP address, port number, gateway, software version, serial number, MAC address, etc. Note: Click Refresh to refresh the online device list manually. The newly found devices are added to the list. Click on a column heading button to sort the information. 2 TruVision Device Manager User Manual

Select the inactive device(s) in the Device Finder window, and then click Modify Network Parameters. 2. In the Activate panel, type a new password and then confirm it in the New Password and Confirm Password fields. Click OK. 3. An Activate device(s) succeed! message appears. Configure a device over the network Double-click an IP address in the Device Finder window to open the device s web browser and configure its setting over the network. Export the device list A list of all the list devices can be exported. To export the device list: 1. In the Device Finder window, click the Export button. 2. In the dialog box, select a File Formats radio button, type a name into the File Name field, and click... to select the file path. 3. Click OK to save the changes. Change network settings To configure the basic network parameters: 1. In the Device Finder window, select the device to be modified from the list. 2. Click the Modify Network Parameters button. In the Modify Network Parameters panel, change the following network parameters as required: IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and port number. 3. In the Device Finder window, click and drag the mouse, hold the Ctrl button, or select the check boxes next to each device to select all the devices to be configured. 2. Click the Modify Network Parameters button. In the Bulk settings panel, type the Start IPv4 or Start IPv6 address of the first device. The IP addresses of the other selected devices are automatically populated with sequential IP addresses. 3. The method to be used depends on the device and its currently installed firmware. To restore the default password (method 1): 1. Select the device for password reset in the main Device Finder window. 2. Click the Password Reset button. 3. Copy the serial number from the Device Serial No. field in the Device information panel and paste it into an email to send to Technical Support. If the current date was not specified in the request, Technical Support provides a security key valid for three days following the date of the request. To set a new password using an XML file (method 2): 1. Select the device for password reset in the main Device Finder window. 2. Click the Password Reset button. 3. Click the Reset Password button. 4. Click Export in the Reset Password dialog box (Step 1) to save the XML file, and then email the file to Technical Support.
