1. Preface Kony Studio Installation Guide - Mac 1. Preface Kony Platform provides an integrated approach in the design, development and management of mobile applications. The Platform facilitates the design and development of mobile applications in a device independent manner and delivers them in different formats that run on all the major device platforms. The Kony Platform consists of three main components: Kony Studio: IDE for developing mobile applications. Gradle Gradle is an advanced build toolkit that manages dependencies and allows to define custom build logic. ImageMagick: Generates background images from the skin attributes (applicable for Mobile Web only). For example, the basic version of XHTML does not support gradient backgrounds. To overcome this limitation, use ImageMagick to create a gradient background image. 1.1 Purpose This document explains how to install Kony Platform, including Kony Studio, Kony Server and additional software on your Mac OSX using an installer. To perform a manual installation, see the Kony Studio Installation Guide (Manual Installation). 1.2 Intended Audience This document is intended for engineers or developers who are responsible for installing and configuring Kony Studio. We assume that the reader of this document is familiar with installing applications in a Mac environment. 1.3 Formatting conventions used in this guide Following are the formatting conventions used throughout the document: 2015 by Kony, Inc.
