MEDICAL IMAGING Ensuring patient safety and providing reliable medical imaging

Your challenges Optimum safety and guaranteed uptime in an increasingly demanding environment The demands placed upon the healthcare sector have never been greater and the operating environment is increasingly challenging all over the world. The starting point of effective and accurate diagnostics is investigative medical imaging. The latest imaging systems represent a significant investment and are heavily utilised ; these vital assets rely on a guaranteed power supply in order to deliver the optimum performance ultimately, providing optimum patient safety. Precise dose management and patient care Dose exposure is a critical factor in patient care ; supplying sufficient energy to support the examination whilst managing the level of exposure requires precise control which, in turn, requires reliable and accurate systems. IT processing and Big Data for the medical imaging sector Never before have information technology, software and Big Data played such an active and critical role in the medical imaging sector. Every member of an imaging team will recognise that whilst the priority is patient diagnosis, the IT systems are a vital support during investigative procedures and their performance must be completely transparent throughout the process. Evolution and new medical technology Imaging equipment is becoming increasingly sophisticated as it evolves in line with medical and technological advances; whilst this means that diseases can be diagnosed and treated more effectively, the operating challenges in particular, space allocated to medical equipment, their support systems and the finances required to fully resource them are as relevant as ever. site 839 a site 666 a site 837 a site 671 a site 840 a 2 Medical imaging - SOCOMEC

Our responses The overall performance of imaging systems and the associated levels of patient care delivered are directly impacted by the availability and quality of the power supply to the equipment. Whether magnetic resonance, X-Ray, computed tomography, ultra sound or nuclear imaging, every system s optimum performance is dependent upon a robust and reliable power supply. COMMERCIAL TECHNICAL NOTE Date : 27/07/2016 From :JTP Verified by : To : Copy to : Nowadays and all around the world, we need more and more to rely on a Healthcare system which will allow people to stay in good health. Life expectancy is increasing as well as possibility that people can cure themself (speaking in average) so medical facilities need to be at the cutting edge. Now hospitals are requested by patients to perform a very high quality level of cures, they don t ask only to be cured but they want to feel good. The quality of cures is not the only request from patients, on the top of criteria, safety is a main concern and all the facilities need to bring safe solutions. An important part of these facilities is made by Magnetic Resonance Systems, X-ray Imaging systems, Computed Tomography,, what is called Medical Imaging. These machines are now well known to us since we need them in a lot of pre diagnosis process. Indeed this kind of machine has to ensure some characteristics that will fit to hospital needs such as adaptability in term of space and technical environment, flexibility to load and technology evolution, availability to be sure that the machine will work when needed. Then even if we are talking about medical cures, we need to face reality and think that hospitals are now managed as private companies that need to be profitable. To meet these economic targets the whole system need to guarantee a high level of availability, if it doesn t there will be a loss of money. Moreover, if we keep behind us these financial aspects we can think that these machines are also crucial when we deal with emergency diagnosis, when somebody has an accident we often need a quick diagnosis of the problem in order to give him the right cure. We can reach this topic when we speak about Angiographic Machines which requires using a catheter inside the patient body. And how do you do this if the Medical Imaging doesn t work? So also for good quality of cures the system has to guarantee these targets of service continuity. Since the network utility can t provide a good result on this matter Medical Imaging manufacturer often rely on systems where a UPS is added. photo prise sur le site http://radplanning.com/radblog/2012/10/17/to-ups-or-not-to-ups/ But here starts the dilemma, which UPS do I need? Experience on this specific field showed us how it s important to properly choose this UPS since Medical Imaging machines are very Technical Note Medical Imaging_v2.docx Page 1/13 Socomec as a key partner in the medical field Technical notes & white papers Overview of our medical dedicated solutions White Paper - 11/2014 MEDICAL IMAGING MEDICAL FACILITIES Diagnostics and solutions for addressing electrical power quality issues in electrical networks By Francis Georgel Technical Note Medical Imaging 1.
