By using only the Save button; changes will be available until first reboot. 1.4 Configure the equipment The VoiBridge configuration is available by using the web interface, the operation instructions are described in Web Interface Manual which founds out on the TOPEX CD.
2 VoiBridge configuration with OAM application The VoiBridge configuration can be accomplished after all the connections were achieved and the power up was done. Also, there are two methods to achieve the VoiBridge configuration: By means OAM application By means Web interface These operations can be performed either using the serial or the Ethernet connection, for these connections the default parameters must be known. The VoiBridge equipment default parameters are: a. For serial connection: Bits per second - 115200; Data bits 8; Parity None; Stop bits - 1; Flow Control None. IP address on the LAN side, 192.168.110.15 must be changed with a private IP address or a public IP address Permissions for ordinary user: user name - gsmgw password: 5tgb4rf or user name - tpxadm password: u53rp455 Permissions for advanced user: user name - root password: 91qwerty19 b. For Ethernet connection: IP address on the LAN side, 192.168.110.15 must be changed with a private IP address or a public IP address SSH port - 2222 Permissions for ordinary user: user name - gsmgw password: 5tgb4rf or user name - tpxadm password: u53rp455 Permissions for advanced user: user name - root password: 91qwerty19 To configure the Topex gateway, perform the following steps: Achieve a direct connection (by OAM or web) to the VoiBridge equipment Change the default IP address Set up the local time of the equipment Install the OAM application Configure the equipment from the OAM application When you move the gateway to another location or office, or if you send it back to Topex for upgrade or repairs, you should remember to restore the default IP address!
2.1 Configure the serial connection In order to change the IP address you must connect to the Topex gateway from a desktop or notebook computer using the serial (RS-232) connection. Verify that the special serial cable is properly connected Set the serial port (COM) properties of your computer to match the parameters of the VoiBridge serial connection (Bits per second - 115200; Data bits 8; Parity None; Stop bits - 1; Flow Control None). See below an example for the Windows XP operating system: Set the serial port properties: Select Start>Control Panel> System From System select Properties>Hardware> Device Manager :
From Device Manager select Ports> COMx, where x is the first available serial port of your computer; in this example, COM1 was used: Configure the Properties for respective COM port as shown:
Create a new serial connection for VoiBridge equipment You must use a serial communication program (terminal emulator) to connect to the Linux console of the VoiBridge equipment. The programs may be HyperTerminal" under Microsoft Windows, TELIX for DOS/Windows, Minicom from Linux, TERM95 under MS-DOS etc Launch the program: Start>Accessories>Communications>HyperTerminal:
Create a new Connect to entry and name it, for instance TopexVoIPGateway. select the COM port where you have connected the serial cable, like COM1 in the example shown here Set the initial communication parameters for the serial link. Bits per second: 115200 bps or leave the default rate Data bits: 8 Parity: none Stop bits: 1 Flow control: none
3 O.A.M. Installation Now that the Topex gateway is configured, you can start using the OAM program to configure the parameters of the equipment and monitor its operation. Install the OAM (Operation, Administration and Maintenance) application on a PC or notebook. The OAM software is delivered on a CD included in the TOPEX package. The PC where you install the OAM application must fulfill these minimum requirements: Processor with 1 GHz frequency; 128 MB RAM memory; 20 GB hard disk capacity; Ethernet connector; CD-ROM; Windows XP or Windows Vista. Install the OAM application from the CD included on the package of the TOPEX VoiBridge equipment or download the updated installation kit from the TOPEX web site. For detailed information about the OAM installation procedures see the USER_Manual comprises on the CD delivered by TOPEX.
Insert the Topex CD-ROM into the drive. If the Autorun feature for the `CD-ROM enabled on your PC, the installation of OAM should begin by itself, since the program features auto-run: The first installation screen shows: the Topex logo, the name of the program being installed and the equipment range for which the program is intended:! If the displayed equipment range is different means that the OAM CD is wrong and must ask TOPEX about proper OAM CD. Then a Preparing Setup screen is displayed, mentioning the name of the OAM program to be installed, such as Topex VOXI OAM and showing a progress indicator for the Setup program. If you notice it is the wrong type of program, you can click the Cancel button at the bottom right corner to abort the installation.
4 Add your gateway system to the OAM configuration After the successful installing the OAM application you must add the The RGW equipments into the configuration, for this follow the next instructions. select "Actions" and the following window will appear, asking you to add another TOPEX system to the configuration.
