1 Unpacking Package contents: Device Brief overview Power supply cable or table power adapter, depending on the customer s preferences Check that all components are undamaged and that all package contents are present. 2 Intended use The MFT12 serves as a terminal, specifically designed for use in vehicles such as forklifts or order pickers. Do not use the system in explosive areas. Please observe the national regulatory requirements for wireless devices. The supplied components are intended for use with this device only. 3 Safety notes and warnings Please read the following information. It serves to ensure your safety as well as the operational readiness of the device. Only original ACD power packs or the ACD power supply cable may be used for operating the MFT12. Please observe the input voltage range on the rating plate located at the rear of the device. Tampering with the device or improper operation will lead to a loss of warranty! If problems occur, ACD must be asked for their decision in order to send in the device for repair at their premises. The device may only be opened by trained specialists, and only after consulting with ACD. The battery-powered version of the MFT12 (device option available upon request) contains a lithium ion battery pack. Lithium ion battery packs can explode if exposed to fire. The battery pack must not be disassembled and exposed to fire or heat (greater than 60 C). The battery must not be charged externally via an external charger, but only via the table power adapter provided by ACD or the vehicle s power supply. Devices or battery packs which are no longer used must be disposed of as toxic waste or returned to ACD (WEEE Directive). The power supply is electrically isolated from the device. Please bear in mind, however, that this electrical isolation ceases to be effective if the interfaces (COM/USB) of the device are directly supplied with input voltage (without electrical isolation). This can lead to the destruction of components of the device. 3 / 8

Prior to each journey, the mounting bracket of the MFT12 must be inspected for damage (tear, deformation). Defective mounting brackets must be replaced for your own safety. Voltage may occur on the inside of the device, which may lead to severe or even fatal injuries when touching live parts or handling the device in an improper manner. It may also lead to severe material damage. The device may only be opened by trained specialists, and only after consulting with ACD. The device may only be attached in the position intended by the holding bracket. 4 Handling of the device 4.1 Switching the device on and off When in standard mode, the device is switched on via the OK button and is switched off by pressing the F1 button for at least 5 seconds. If the device is in standby mode, this is indicated by the flashing of the green LED (3 seconds off/1 second on). Via the MFT10Tray application, it is possible to configure the following combinations to switch the device on and off: Switch on (ATX on) Switch off (ATX off) Setting No key F1 F2 OK OK+F1 OK+F2 No key F1 F2 Function Immediately following application of the operating voltage Via the F1 button Via the F2 button Via the OK button Via the OK button and simultaneous pressing of the F1 button within 2 seconds. (The OK button must be kept pressed while doing so) Via the OK button and simultaneous pressing of the F2 button within 2 seconds. (The OK button must be kept pressed while doing so) Via the shutdown function of the operating system By pressing the F1 button for at least 5 seconds By pressing the F2 button for at least 5 seconds 4 / 8

The device can be switched back on as described in chapter 11.1. The reset button is located underneath the cover on the side. 4.2.8 Special considerations for external devices at the interfaces The maximum power consumption of external devices at the COM interface and the 4 USB interfaces must not exceed 8 W. When connecting external devices to the interfaces, the electrical isolation of the voltage supply ceases to be effective if the external device has an electrically conductive connection to another electrical circuit. 4.3 Emergency supply/battery operation The MFT12 is equipped with an energy storage device which continues to supply the device with voltage for 3-4 seconds in the event of voltage drops. The MFT12 is also available with a battery upon request. Depending on the processor load, the runtime of the fully charged battery is approx. 1.5 hours. 5 Cleaning and maintenance information Clean the device with a soft cloth. Always disconnect the device from the voltage supply and switch it off before cleaning. Do not use any corrosive chemicals, cleaning solutions or strong cleaning agents in order to clean the device. 6 / 8
