INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING THE WIU MAINFRAME ON CAMPUS ***First-Time User*** University Technology Support Center: 298-2704 Administrative Information Management Systems (AIMS): 298-1944 Human Resources 298-1971 To access WIU mainframe systems (which includes WIUP, TSO and STARS), follow the instructions below: (If you have a MAC use the Instructions for Accessing the WIU Mainframe - Macintosh Users and then proceed with step 2 below) Click on the WIU_zOS Secure icon on your desktop. If you do not have the icon on your desktop do the following: a. Go to WIU s QWS Download web site: https://mvs.wiu.edu:4433/3270secure/download b. Follow the instructions given on the website for downloading and installing QWS3270 Secure software. c. Once the download is complete, the QWS3270 Secure icon will be on your desktop. You should have the Western Illinois University z/os screen. 1
At the bottom of the screen it says Choose option and press ENTER: You want to go into the CL-Supersession application; Administrative System; so type in CL and press ENTER. 2
Next, the Entry Validation Screen will appear. Using the information from your initial sign-on letter or information provided to you by the University Technology Support Center or Human Resources: Enter your USERID on line one. (If you don t have or know your USERID contact Human Resources at 298-1971.) TAB to the second line, enter your initial password on line two, and press ENTER. (If you don t have or know your password contact Human Resources at 298-1971.) 3
You should have the Change Password Screen. On line one, enter a valid password using a minimum of 8 characters. The password must contain at least one letter and one number. Tab to the second line and re-enter the same password on line two and press ENTER. This will be your password on subsequent logins. Then you should have the Update Personal Information Screen. (See next page.) 4
On line one, enter your first and last name, Tab to the second line and enter your location, Tab to the third line and enter your campus phone number, and Press ENTER and you should have the CL/SUPERSESSION MAIN MENU Screen. 5
Select the CICSWIUP CICS PROD-WIUP 1 by pressing TAB or using the arrow keys to place the cursor to the left of this item and then press ENTER. It will take a few seconds for the next screen to come up. (The order and number of Session ID s will be different for each user.) You should now have the Personal Information Update Screen. (See next page.) 6
The information on this screen is used by the University Technology Support Center to positively identify you if you call to have your password reset. Follow the screen s instructions to enter your personal information. Use Tab to move around on the screen. You can print the information you entered on the form by clicking on the printer icon at the top of the screen. You can also access this screen later to make changes or print out a copy. When you have finished entering your information, press ENTER. 7
Next, you will see the WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY NEWS Screen. Press ENTER to continue reading NEWS -- or -- Press the F3 key to view a list of applications you may select. 8
You should have the WIUP Main Menu. Type in the number of the option you want and press ENTER. Each employee has different options on this menu according to their position requirements. Some of the options you have will include: EMID POPT ACAL UCOR This is the Employee Campus Directory. You can type in an employee s name and it will bring up their office location and phone number. This option allows you to specify your default print option values. This option brings up the Academic Calendar with information such as dates for withdrawing from classes and semester test finals dates. This option displays User Coordinators for each application area. This is the person to contact when requesting screens for a particular area. 9
PIDU ALRT DDAS EMPI TIME This option brings up your personal identification information and allows you to change or print the information using the printer icon at the top of your screen. This option is used to update your emergency information. The contact information you provide to the WIU Emergency Alert System will be used for emergency purposes only. This option is used to update your Direct Deposit information. This option takes you to two sub-menus that contain your personnel and payroll information (see below). This option allows you to report your time worked. 10
To get to your personnel and payroll information, type in the number of the EMPI option and press ENTER. Another menu will display with the options described below. To view the information, type in the number of the option that you want, and press ENTER. 1. Personnel Information: General information such as your legal address, social security number, and WIU ID number, are among the items shown. 2. Current Contractual Information: This screen contains all of the information regarding your current position. In addition, it contains historical contractual information from the past five years. 3. Payroll Information: This takes you to a sub-menu, which contains payroll related information. (see next page). 4. Sick and Vacation Benefit Information: Information relating to your sick and vacation time is located on this screen. 5. Degree or Educational Level Information: For faculty and administrators, degree(s) and the year(s) they were received can be seen. 11
1. Legal Address and Tax/FICA/SURS Status: Your legal address and information completed for tax withholding is shown in addition to the FICA percent withheld, the percentage of SURS (State University Retirement System) withheld, and years of service under SURS as of stated date. 2. Check Distribution and Non-Cash Gross Adjustments: The name of the bank and the bank account number to which your paycheck is being direct deposited. 3. List of Current Deductions: Authorized deductions from your paycheck (except taxes, FICA, SURS, and percentage deductions) and the dollar amount deducted from each pay period. 4. W2 Year-To-Date Balances: WIU year-to-date earnings and taxes paid. 5. Paycheck Information: Your most current pay-stub, or depending upon how close you are to pay day, your next pay-stub. There is a second page, reached by using the F6 (more detail) key, which displays how your paycheck was calculated with regard to regular time worked, sick, and vacation time. Historical information is maintained which can be reached using the F7 and F8 (forward and backward) keys. 12
6. W2 Wage and Tax Information: Your W2 information for all completed tax years. Past years are kept and can be viewed by pressing the F7 key. 7. Insurance Benefits: Detailed information on the insurance you have selected. 8. Tax Sheltered Annuity Information: If you are contributing to an optional TSA, this provides additional information. 9. Savings Bond Information: If savings bonds are withheld from your pay, detailed information is shown. 10. Miscellaneous Income Information: If you have received miscellaneous incomes, such as employee awards or cell phone stipends, descriptions and amounts are shown. 13
To sign off of WIUP, press F12=SIGNOFF and the following screen will appear. 14
Press F3=EXIT and you ll get: Enter a 1 or X, and then press ENTER. Passwords must be changed every 90 days. You will receive a warning message and this allows you to change your password prior to the 90-day limit. If the 90 days is exceeded, you will need to call the University Technology Support Center at 298-2704 to have your password reset. If your password becomes inactivated, call the University Technology Support Center at 298-2704 to have your password reset. HINTS The active Function keys for each screen are shown at the bottom of the screen to help you navigate through the system. When you are in the personnel and payroll sub-menus, it is easiest to move around by using the F4 key. It will take you one step back, whereas the F3 key will take you back to your main menu. If at any time you are unsure of where you are on the system, the F3 key will take you back through the menus until you find one you recognize. 15
