In Section H there is a series of steps, which must be performed following new FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 installations or following upgrades from FRx Financial Reporting 6.0 and prior in order to build the server-based General Ledger index files (GLX). Failure to do so will result in the error message, (CheckOFSIConnection)200: frl_entity does not exist. Server-based GLX not set up. The error message appears when an FRx company is selected. For upgrades from FRx Financial Reporter 6.5 it is not required to perform the steps however it is recommended in order to ensure the most current version of the Server Based Index scripts are applied to the database. Additional information explaining the purpose of the server-based General Ledger index files can be found on the FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 CD in the \Bin\FRxReporter\Scripts\ directory. A. Overview FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 is available in a Desktop Edition and a Professional Edition. Either edition can be installed on system servers and client workstations. Professional Edition can also be installed on a report server and on a Microsoft IIS server that will host FRx WebPort. Remote Solomon workstations can install FRx DrillDown Viewer, which is used for opening stored FRx Reporter reports (*.FRD files). Notes: 1. For detailed information about the operating system and software that must be installed before installing FRx, see the System Requirements and Installation Guidelines document that is located on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD in Bin\FRxReporter\Help\Sys_Reqs\FRx67_OFSI_SysReqs.pdf. 2. The FRx Installation Browser dialog box appears automatically whenever you insert the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD into a CD-ROM driver. The following sections briefly describe the options that are available on the FRx Installation Browser dialog box. Before you begin installing FRx, review this information so that you fully understand these options and how the installation process operates. Installation Prerequisites: Clicking the Installation Prerequisites button displays the Install Prerequisites dialog box, from which you can install the additional products that are required in order for FRx to function properly. For more detailed information see Installing Prerequisite Software on page 3 of the FRx 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD in Bin\FRxReporter\Help\Install\FRxInstall.pdf. Install FRx a. LOCAL CLIENT: In a local client installation (or fat-client installation), FRx is installed as a fat client on each client workstation with the most common components: Report Designer, DrillDown Viewer, FRx Report Launcher, and Report Manager. In this installation configuration, all FRx program files are installed on the computer s local hard drive. The Sysdata directory (the directory that stores FRx company information, report specifications, and supporting files) can be stored and maintained on either on each client workstation or on a shared network computer. The location of the Sysdata directory depends on whether you want multiple users to share reports and company information. Note: It is recommended that the Sysdata directory reside on a shared network computer and Local Client FRx installations for use with Microsoft Business Solutions-Solomon be performed on file servers, Citrix/Terminal servers, or single user workstations. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 2 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

b. NETWORK CLIENT: In a network client installation (or a thin-client installation), each client workstation is set up as a thin client and only the minimum required components are installed. Before a thin-client installation is performed on a client workstation, the FRx programs must already be installed on a file server. All FRx program files are installed to a shared network directory. All users launch the FRx applications from the shared server. During the installation, shortcuts to the executables on the network are created on the client workstation. In a network client installation, FRx is installed on the file server with the most common components: Report Designer, DrillDown Viewer, Report Launcher, and Report Manager. Note: It is recommended that Network Client FRx installations for use with Microsoft Business Solutions-Solomon be performed on client workstations. c. CUSTOM INSTALLATION: In a custom installation, a selection is given for which FRx components to install (Report Designer, DrillDown Viewer, Report Launcher, Client Deployment and/or Report Manager). Note: For information on the installation of just the Report Designer, DrillDown Viewer, Report Launcher, and/or Report Manager components on remote workstations, refer to the FRx 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 Installation CD in \Bin\FRxReporter\Help\Install\FRxInstall.pdf. For installation on a shared network computer, select Client Deployment in addition to the Report Designer component. This option installs a pre-configured Client Deployment program that sets up multiple workstations as thin clients to Report Designer. After the Client Deployment program is run, an executable file is browsed to from the workstation to run the thin-client installation. Note: This installation option can be utilized in place of the Local Client and Network Client installations that install FRx on a file server and client workstations. With the Custom Installation Client Deployment the FRx server installation process creates a Setup.exe file in the Client Setup directory on the file server. This file can be used to set up workstations as thin-clients. Utilizing this file eliminates the need of having to take the Microsoft Buisiness Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD to each workstation when installing client workstations. Install FRx WebPort a. FRx WebPort: Select this option to install WebPort, the program that is installed on the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) server and that is used to publish and view reports from FRx by means of the Internet or Intranet. b. FRx Web Administrator: Select this option to install Web Administrator, the program that you can use to administer WebPort on Web server. You can install Web Administrator using the WebPort installation on the Web (IIS) server, or you can install Web Administrator as a separate program on a client workstation. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 3 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

Install FRx Report Server Clicking the Install FRx Report Server button starts the InstallShield Wizard that installs the Report Server product, which is the program that generates reports submitted from client workstations. Report Server frees up resources on client workstations and allows you to schedule reports for processing during off-peak hours. View Help Documents Clicking the View Help Documents button displays a table of contents that describes and provides links to the documentation that is included on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD. B. Defining a UNC Path The Universal Naming Convention (UNC) standard is the preferred method for accessing files in FRx applications. UNC provides a means of locating files on a network without specifying a mapped drive letter. The UNC format is \\Machinename\Sharename\Path\Filename. Note: Because the FRx DrillDown Viewer can be used on remote workstations for viewing local FRx Financial Reporter reports and not for accessing FRx applications via a network connection, it does not use the UNC standard. Instructions for installing FRx DrillDown Viewer on remote workstations can be found in the FRx 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide. The guide is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and is located in \Bin\FRxReporter\Help\Install\FRxInstall.pdf on the FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 CD. During your FRx Financial Reporter installation, you will be instructed to use a UNC path when specifying the installation location for program files, SysData files, etc. Typing UNC path elements creates the possibility of errors that could prevent a successful FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 installation. Clicking Browse in FRx Financial Reporter Setup allows you to select, rather than type, path elements to prevent errors and help ensure a successful installation. Following is an example of a UNC path: To define a UNC path by clicking Browse in FRx Setup: 1. Click Browse. 2. Select Network Neighborhood (Windows NT 4.0) or My Network Places (Windows 2000, Windows XP). 3. Select Entire Network. 4. Select Microsoft Windows Network. 5. Choose the server name. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 4 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

6. Select the name of the share where Microsoft Business Solutions Solomon is installed. 7. Select the Solomon version 5.5 or 6.0 folder. 8. Select the FRx67 folder. 9. Click OK. 10. Verify that the UNC path is correct. Example: \\Servername\Sharename\Program Files\Solomon xx\frx67 11. Repeat steps 1 through 10. C. NEW: Installing FRx Financial Reporter Desktop Edition or Professional Edition on a Server for Network Access & On Thin-Client Workstations Using Client Deployment Note: The network installation of FRx installs the selected program files onto the file server. Users at thin-client workstations run the user interface on the local computer to access data that is stored on the file server. Install the FRx programs on the network server before installing thin-client workstations. The FRx server installation process creates a setup.exe file in the Client Setup directory on the file server. This file can be used to set up a workstation as a thin client. To install FRx Financial Reporter Desktop Edition or Professional Edition on a Server for Network Access: 1. Insert the CD that contains FRx Financial Reporter 6.7 into the server s CD-ROM drive. If AutoPlay is enabled on the CD drive, the FRx Installation Browser screen will appear automatically. If AutoPlay is not enabled, run FRxSetup.exe located in the root directory on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD by double-clicking on the file name. The FRx Installation Browser screen will then appear. 2. Click Install FRx. FRx Setup Welcome appears. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 5 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

3. Click Next. License Agreement appears. 4. Carefully read the software license agreement. 5. Click Yes to accept the license agreement and continue the installation. FRx Setup next prompts you for your installation type. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 6 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

6. Select Custom. Product Level: Desktop appears. 7. In the Product Level: Desktop dialog box, select the FRx Report Designer, FRx Report Launcher and FRx Client Deployment check boxes, and then click Next. If a previous version of FRx is installed on the server, Multiple Versions Detected appears. Note: If Report Manager was purchased, also select the FRx Report Manager option. If FRx Report Manager was not purchased, it can be installed and used for demo purposes for 30 days. Leave the FRx Report Manager option unchecked if FRx Report Manager should not be installed. Note: The FRx DrillDown Viewer option is automatically selected when you select FRx Report Designer. The options listed in this dialog box vary, depending upon the product level that you purchased. Note: If the Setup Type dialog box appears, select the appropriate accounting system product, and then in subsequent dialog boxes, make the appropriate selections based on your accounting system. Version: Solomon 5.5 & 6.0 Page 7 of 36 R4MN-SM00-000A500 05/2004

8. Select the correct option. Warning: Before upgrading to FRx 6.7: Turn off FRx Security in the previous release. Close all FRx programs. Back up the current Sysdata directory. Notes: Use the Multiple Versions Detected dialog box to select which existing FRx data files to convert to work with FRx 6.7. After these files are converted, they will not work with any previous releases of the product. It is recommended that a complete backup of the prior FRx version be made prior to proceeding. For supplemental information on what the upgrade process is doing, see FRx Upgrades on page 14 of the FRx 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide on the Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics-FRx 6.7 CD in Bin\FRxReporter\Help\Install\FRxInstall.pdf. If Multiple Versions Detected is not received but there are existing FRx data files to convert, complete the installation then refer to Section J Hints and Tips for information on using the Installation and Upgrade Assist Utility to convert the files. This is common if FRx 6.7 is being installed on a new server, separate from the server where the existing FRx data files reside, or if the prior version of FRx has been uninstalled. 9. Click on Next.
