SPECIFYING YOUR WORKSPACE This Selection Guide is designed to walk you through the steps of specifying your workspace and inspire ideas for how Voi can meet your specific needs. Voi's depth of line provides a wide range of options, and its efficient kit of parts makes it easy to specify. 1 WORKSURFACES A variety of shapes and sizes meets a range of footprint requirements, from private office to open plan areas. Systems worksurfaces can also be used. See pages 4-5 2 SUPPORTS Voi s selection of worksurface supports can be used in countless combinations to achieve the look and function needed. Light scale, contemporary O-legs and post legs or more conventional end panels and pedestals are available. A variety of modular storage options can be specified based on your storage needs: box/box/file pedestals, file/file pedestals, slim profile pedestals, lateral files, multi files, and bookcase supports. See pages 6-7 4 ABOVE WORKSURFACE STORAGE From contemporary overhead cabinets to conventional stack-on storage, Voi has many above-the-worksurface storage options that can be used in a variety of applications. Wallmounted, panel-mounted, and conventional stack-on storage options are available to make efficient use of vertical space. The O-leg can be used in stack-on storage applications to create a lightscale, contemporary look. Choose from sliding doors, or overhead cabinets with four doors. Mixed material options are available for overhead cabinets with four doors. See pages 10-11 5 BELOW WORKSURFACE STORAGE A wide variety of conventional storage options are available: lateral files, bookcases, corner end cap bookcase, mobile pedestals, and storage towers. Many contemporary storage options are also available,including low credenzas and floor credenzas. These units fit neatly below the worksurface to create a layering effect. They're available in a variety of configurations to support different storage, staging, and display needs. See pages 12-13 2
3 MODESTY PANELS/PRIVACY SCREENS Modesty panels in a variety of sizes enhance privacy below a Voi worksurface. Mixed material options are available in laminate and Frosted Translucent. Above and above/below privacy screens are available to create an element of privacy in an open plan area. See pages 8-9 ALSO CONSIDER APPLICATION IDEAS Regardless of the application, Voi presents an integrated, unified aesthetic for the entire workplace. The efficient offering makes it easy to specify elements to personalize workspaces and achieve the right mix of functionality and style. See page 16 SYSTEMS INTEGRATION By integrating Voi with HON s Initiate or Abound workstation panel systems, you can combine the capabilities of freestanding furniture with the flexibility of panels. Both Abound and Initiate provide easy access to power and data, as well as support for Voi overhead cabinets, which can be panel-hung in space-efficient open plan applications. See page 21 FINISH LIBRARY Voi s carefully crafted palette gives you an array of choices to express your brand and complement your interior design. Choose from woodgrain, solid, and mesh laminates to compose the look you want. See pages 22-27 6 ACCESSORIES A diverse selection of Voi accessories enhances your work processes and expands the capabilities of Voi desking. Storage cubes, drawer organizers, and layering shelves add storage capabilities, while a cushion top converts a credenza into occasional guest seating. 1. WORKSURFACES A B SELECT A WORKSURFACE SHAPE. Choose from a variety of shapes: - Rectangle - Rudder - Saddle - Wedge Rudder, Saddle, and Wedge top shapes allow the user to face outward instead of into the corner, encouraging collaboration. For even more options, systems worksurfaces can be used with Voi components in panel-supported open plan applications. SELECT A SIZE. Voi worksurfaces come in a variety of depths and widths to provide solutions that work within any set of space requirements; 20", 24", 30", and 36" depths are available. Widths range from 36" to 84". Various depths and widths give you more options when specifying desks for spaces of any size. Consult your HON Pricer for complete information. TIPS When using the Rudder Worksurface as a freestanding unit, an O-leg and two Post Legs must be used. Can only be used with non-grommet worksurface models. When attached to another worksurface, one post leg can be used. T-mold is not an option on Voi worksurfaces. Edgeband only. O-leg-to-panel brackets cannot be used with T-mold worksurfaces. Edgeband only. Edgeband color is based on the worksurface color selection. See chart on page 22. Select grommet or no grommets. If grommets are specified, they are positioned in a predetermined location: - One grommet in 36"- 48"W worksurfaces. - Two grommets in 48"- 84"W worksurfaces. Systems worksurfaces can be used (see Abound worksurface section in the Abound pricer for systems worksurface details). HWSA2 bracket kit and HCTL182/HCT242 cantilever HWSA2 bracket kit and HCTL182/HCT242 cantilever models must be specified in addition to the worksurfaces to work with Abound or Initiate panels in some applications. 2. SUPPORTS A SELECT THE TYPE OF SUPPORTS THAT SUIT YOUR STYLE AND FUNCTIONAL NEEDS. Choose from O-legs, end panels, post legs, and modular storage. Voi supports can be used in various combinations: - O-leg/end panel - O-leg/post leg - End panel/post leg - End panel/pedestal - O-leg/pedestal - 2 end panels - 2 O-legs - 2 pedestals, etc. B O-Legs (28½"H) have a light scale, contemporary look that works great in any environment. O-legs used in combination with a pedestal, lateral, multi-file, or end panel can diversify the look. Laminate end panels provide a conventional look. Modular storage options also function as worksurface supports. Choose from: - Box/Box/File Pedestals - File/File Pedestals - Box/Box/File Slim Profile Pedestals (great for smaller footprints) - Bookcase Supports - 2-drawer Lateral Files - Multi File Lateral Files SELECT THE RIGHT SUPPORT DEPTH. Choose the support depth that aligns with the worksurface depth: 20"D, 24"D, or 30"D are available. Consult your HON Pricer for complete information. TIPS When using a laminate end panel in panel-supported open plan applications, you must specify a laminate end panel support with panel bracket separately. See Your Systems Integration Accessories on page 21. When using an O-leg in panel-supported open plan applications, you must specify an O-leg-to-panel attachment bracket separately. See Your Systems Integration Accessories on page 21. End panels are non-handed and ship in two pieces. O-leg and panel applications cannot be used with T-mold. O-legs are non-handed and ship fully assembled with mounting hardware. A 7" O-leg can be used in conjunction with a low credenza to support one end of a worksurface and create a layering effect. 7" O-leg attaches with securing tape. All modular pedestals have an easy attach method to the worksurface for quick assembly. Pedestals are 30"D; when using a pedestal to support a 36"D worksurface, there will be a 6" overhang. Multiple handle locations are possible per customer preference. Pre-drilled holes are placed on the right, left, and center of drawers. Harbor Teak laminate is only available on worksurfaces and door/drawer fronts, not chassis or end panels. Bookcase support can be used interior or exterior facing. If using facing out, pilot screw holes will not be able to be used to attach to worksurface. 6

3. MODESTY PANELS/PRIVACY SCREENS A CONSIDER WHETHER TO USE MODESTY PANELS AND/OR PRIVACY SCREENS. Modesty panels and privacy screens are optional, not required. (Works with pedestals and end panels only) B SELECT FULL-HEIGHT, HALF-HEIGHT, OR FLOATING MODESTY PANELS. Choose full-height or half-height modesty panels for a more conventional, built-up desk look. They are designed to work with 60", 66" and 72" desks. Full-height and half-height modesty panels are only available in laminate finishes. Floating modesty panels create a light scale, floating look below the worksurface. Two material options are available: - Frosted Translucent floating modesty panels allow you to create a contemporary, mixed-material look. - Laminate floating modesty panels are available in solid, mesh, or woodgrain laminate finishes for a conventional look. TIPS Full-height and half-height laminate modesty panels are designed to work with 60", 66", or 72" desks. Only the floating modesty panel is available in mixed material (Frosted Translucent). Privacy screens ship complete with attachment brackets. Above privacy screens attach to the bottom of the worksurface. C SELECT PRIVACY SCREENS. 4. ABOVE WORKSURFACE STORAGE A SELECT ABOVE WORKSURFACE STORAGE BASED ON YOUR STORAGE NEEDS. In private and semi-private office applications, overhead cabinets can be wall-mounted. In panel-supported open plan applications, overhead cabinets can be panel-mounted. For a third option, overhead cabinets can be used with O-legs to create contemporary stack-on storage. O-legs create 50"H or 65"H stack-on storage solutions. If a conventional look is preferred, select a built-up stack-on storage model, which uses laminate end panels. B SPECIFY THE TYPE AND MATERIAL OF STORAGE DOORS FOR YOUR ABOVE WORKSURFACE STORAGE. All Voi overhead cabinets and stack-on storage units offer a choice of doors: - 1 sliding door - 4 cabinet doors with cubbie - 4 cabinet doors without cubbie (60"W models only) Cabinet doors are available in laminate or mixed materials, with the following mixed material options available: - Frames: Platinum Metallic Champagne Metallic - Doors: Frosted Glass Frosted Translucent Warm Mist Cool Mist Plains Frost Plains Sunrise TIPS All wall-mounted storage cabinets ship with wall mount bracket. Tackboards are available for wall-mounted storage and conventional stack-on storage; there are no tackboards for stack-on storage with O-legs. The 50"H and 65"H stack-on storage with O-legs line up with Abound workstation panel heights. O-legs can be used with all overhead cabinet models. O-leg attaches with hutch tape. Steel shelves can only be used with O-leg application. Overhead and stack-on storage doors do not lock. Overhead cabinets and stackon storage accept binder-height items. Personal storage towers offer versatile, multi-purpose storage for private office applications. Storage towers provide storage in a compact area and can be used in open plan applications. Conventional storage components including 2- or 4-drawer lateral files, a storage cabinet, a lateral/storage cabinet credenza, a bookcase hutch, a mobile pedestal, 2-, 3-, and 4-shelf bookcases, and a square corner bookcase are also available. Consult your HON Pricer for complete information. TIPS Adjustable hex leveling glides allow floor-standing furniture to be easily leveled without lifting the unit; glides have 1¼" adjustable range. File drawers accept hanging folders in letter or legal size. Standard box drawers operate on ball bearing suspension with ¾" extension. File and box drawers operate on ball bearing suspension with full extension. Low credenzas can be used in conjunction with the 7" O-leg to support one end of a worksurface, creating a layering effect. 7" O- leg attaches with securing tape. Storage towers can be used as worksurface supports. A worksurface-to-tower bracket must be specified separately. See Your Systems Integration Accessories on page 21. 6. ACCESSORIES A CONSIDER ACCESSORIES THAT ENHANCE STORAGE. Metal storage cubes not only add a pop of personality to any area, they also provide more individual storage options. Storage cubes are available in five fun colors: - Autumn - Citron - Flame - Pool - Sisal Drawer organizers can be specified in the same five colors as Voi storage cubes. Layering shelves are used to create an additional area for filing and piling. TIPS SecureFit rail (available on Voi markerboards) comes in Platinum only; no need to specify a color. Seat cushions are available for low credenzas, floor credenzas, and mobile pedestals. Cushions must be specified separately, and come in many HON seating fabrics. Wire trough available in Black only. LED task light cord is 9 ft. B CONSIDER ACCESSORIES FOR INCREASED FUNCTIONALITY. Markerboards are available with or without HON SecureFit rail. LED task lights mount under stack-on storage or overhead cabinets to illuminate the worksurface. You can also leverage Abound or Initiate electrical components for a powered Voi solution. Workstation panels integrate with Voi to support components, divide space, and provide access to power. Voi modesty panels can be used with panels to fine-tune enclosure. Freestanding low credenzas can be used with panels for easy installation and reconfiguration. SYSTEMS INTEGRATION WORKSURFACE GUIDELINES Systems worksurfaces can be used with Voi components in open plan applications. These worksurfaces ship standard with cantilevers unless the "omit cantilever" option is selected. When Voi low credenzas are used along the spine wall and are placed adjacent to the wing wall, one electrical/data cutout on the wing wall will be blocked. When Voi credenzas are used along the wing wall and are placed adjacent to the spine wall, one electrical/ data cutout on the spine wall will be blocked. When Voi O-leg supports are used with workstation panels, it is recommended to also panel-attach the worksurface with the work surface anti-dislodgement bracket kit (HMWA2). It is also recommended to attach the O-leg to the panel with the O-leg-to-panel bracket kit (HLSPBL left and/or HLSPBR right). This bracket will provide additional workstation rigidity. It is designed to work with edgeband worksurfaces only. When the Voi end panel supports are used with workstation panels, it is recommended to use the end panel support with panel bracket model (HLSL2428EBL, HLSL2428EBR, HLSL3028EBL, or HLSL3028EBR). This model will provide additional workstation rigidity. The worksurface-to-tower bracket kit (HSTB2W1) can be used with Voi worksurfaces, as well as worksurfaces from HON s panel systems. SUPPORT GUIDELINES In situations in which the following conditions are present: 1) the worksurface is perpendicular to the spine wall, 2) the worksurface is panel supported off the spine wall, and 3) there are Voi credenzas placed under the worksurface along the spine, there is not enough clearance to use standard worksurface cantilevers to attach the worksurface to the spine wall. In these applications, use the worksurface anti-dislodgement bracket kit (HMWA2) to panel-attach the worksurface in lieu of cantilevers. The Voi O-leg-to-panel bracket is designed to work with edgeband worksurfaces only. Use of the Voi O-leg with T-mold worksurfaces will prevent the attachment of the O-leg to the panel. OVERHEAD CABINET GUIDELINES Voi overhead cabinets can be used on both Initiate and Abound as panel-mounted overheads. The overhead cabinets require a stack-on storage panel mounted bracket kit (HLSLPMB). This kit includes one left-hand and one right-hand bracket. The brackets are available in all Core and Choice Metallic paint colors. For 66"W, 72"W, or 78"W cabinets, two sets of brackets (four brackets total) must be used. Overhead cabinets do not have off modular capabilities and cannot be upmounted. Always panel-mount overhead cabinets in pairs, one on each side of a given panel in the same location vertically and horizontally. Limit one overhead cabinet per side, per panel. Voi overhead cabinets must be mounted on a spine wall that is also attached to a wing panel. The wing panel must be the same height as the spine wall.
