Tradesman Radio BR-3 Warranty Details The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and territory laws. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
1 Dear customer, Congratulations on purchasing a high quality MAGINON product. You have acquired a modern Tradesman Radio with excellent technical features and respective accessories, which is particularly easy to operate. Please study this information in detail observing, in particular, the safety instructions. The radio comes with a 3 year warranty. You will need the enclosed warranty card and your sales receipt in the event of the radio developing a fault. Keep these in a safe place together with the Instruction Manual. Please include the Instruction Manual when passing on the radio to a third party. 1. 3 3. Hazard, safety and warning notices Incorrect use of the Tradesman Radio BR-3 and accessories can be dangerous for you and others and can damage or destroy the device. So please read and strictly follow the following Safety information. Please keep the instructions for future reference and pass them on with the device. Intended use This Tradesman Radio BR-3 is designed for the radio reception and the playback of audio signals. It has been designed for private use and is not suitable for commercial purposes. Risks for children and persons with limited abilities to use electronic devices Bluetooth devices work with shortwave radio signals. These can interfere with other electronic devices and medical devices. Switch the Tradesman Radio BR-3 off in areas in which such use is prohibited. Do not use the Tradesman Radio BR-3 within medical facilities, on board of aircrafts, at filling stations or in the vicinity of automatic smoke detectors or automatically controlled equipment. Keep the Tradesman Radio BR-3 at least 20 cm away from pacemakers and other medical equipment. Radio waves can interfere with the functionality of pacemakers and other medical equipment. Electrical hazard In the event of foreign bodies or liquid entering the Tradesman Radio BR-3, switch off the device. Leave everything to dry out thoroughly. Otherwise there is a danger of fire or electrocution! The AC adaptor may not be exposed to dripping or spray water or excessive humidity. Danger of fire and electrocution. 4 Injuries and material damage Do not operate the Tradesman Radio BR-3 while running or driving. Ensure adequate ventilation and do not cover the Tradesman Radio BR-3 to prevent overheating. Do not place any sources of fire, such as burning candles, on or close to the Tradesman Radio BR-3. Damage to the electronics or to the housing caused by external influences, such as electric shocks, falls or others are not covered by the warranty and shall thus be charged for. Do not expose the integrated battery to excess heat such as sun radiation, fire, etc. Fire and explosion hazard. Warning: Due to the high acoustic pressure, extreme volume levels can damage your hearing.

7 5. Use 4.1. Power supply 1. Connect the AC adaptor to the DC inlet of the unit. 2. Connect the AC adaptor to a properly installed wall socket. Note: Whenever the adaptor is used, the lithium battery is automatically charged. To work with the lithium batteries, check that the AC plug is detached from the DC inlet of the unit. Unplug the adaptor from the mains and the unit, when the unit is not used for a longer period of time. 4.2. Charging the battery Prior to using the MAGINON Tradesman Radio BR-3, the integrated lithium polymer battery must be charged. 1. Plug in the adaptor to the DC adaptor jack. 2. The radio will begin to charge. The LED will light up to indicate it is fully charged. 4.3. USB charging The upper USB slot can be used to charge mobile devices when needed. 1. Plug in the USB cable to the radio with the right connector on the other end that matches with your mobile device. 2. Your device should indicate that it is being charged (please refer to the instruction guide of your mobile device for further information). 4.4. Using the radio 1. Turn on the radio by using the Volume knob and turning to the right. When you hear a click sound and the LED indicator lights up, then the Tradesman Radio BR-3 is turned on.
8 2. Rotate the Tuning control to select the desired radio station. On FM, the tuning scale is marked in MHz, on AM in khz. 3. Adjust the Volume control for comfortable listening. 4. To turn off the radio, turn the Volume knob to the left until a click sound is heard. The LED indicator will be turned off and the Tradesman Radio BR-3 is now turned off. 5. The soft spring antenna is used for FM and AM band reception. 4.5. Using the AUX connection 1. To use the AUX connection, plug in a 3.5 mm audio cable and plug the other end to a playing device. 2. Check your playing device instruction guide on playing audio files. Start playing songs from your playing device. 3. Adjust the volume control to a comfortable listening level with the Volume knob and/or with your playing device. 4.6. Playing audio files from memory card or USB memory stick 1. Plug in a memory card or a USB memory stick (lower USB slot) with audio files. 2. Switch the Function knob to the desired mode SD or USB. 3. The Tradesman Radio BR-3 will start playing songs automatically. 4. To adjust the volume, use the Volume knob. 5. To control the audio files playing, use Reverse/Forward to navigate between the audio files, and also use Play/Pause to play or pause the playing audio file. 4.7. Using the Bluetooth function 1. Switch the function knob to BT. 2. Connect the radio with your Bluetooth compatible device. For further instructions, please refer to the manual of your Bluetooth compatible device. Search for Maginon BR-3 in your Bluetooth connection list and start the connection between the radio and the Bluetooth compatible device.
9 3. Once your Bluetooth compatible device is connected, play audio files from your Bluetooth compatible device. To find the instruction on how to play audio files from your Bluetooth compatible device, please refer to the instructions of the Bluetooth compatible device. 4. You can manage the audio files by using Reverse (restart audio file/ previous audio file), Play/Pause (play audio file, pause replay), Forward (next audio file). 5. To disconnect, turn Bluetooth off from your Bluetooth compatible device, or switch to another function with the Function knob on the radio.

Warranty and Service If problems should occur during the operation of the device, we are available under service address to handle any questions and problems you may have. 11 8. Care Do not use any corrosive cleaners, such as mentholated spirits, thinners, etc. to clean the Tradesman Radio BR-3 housing and radio accessory. When required, clean system components with a soft dry cloth. Never immerse this device in water or other liquids while cleaning or operating it. Never hold the device under running water. 9. Disposal For disposal, separate packaging into different types and dispose of in line with environmental regulations in supplied collection containers. Battery Prior to disposal, the integrated batteries must first be removed and disposed off separately from the housing. Batteries and storage batteries may not be disposed of in domestic waste. Never remove batteries yourself as this could lead to injuries. Contact the dealer from whom you bought the device or take it to the collection and returns point of your local council, responsible for the correct environmental disposal of the electric equipment and batteries. Storage batteries and batteries do therefore contain the adjacent symbol. Device The adjacent symbol indicates that electrical and electronic equipment may not be disposed of in domestic waste. Please use the returns and collection points of your local council or contact your dealer you purchased the product from. This prevents potentially harmful effects on the environment and health as a result of incorrect disposal. For further information contact the respective department of your local council.

Tradesman Radio BR-3 Repair and Refurbished Goods or Parts Notice Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned to the Supplier for repair. Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost. We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair. You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process. Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet ALDI s stringent quality specifications.
