This multi-purpose instrument is suitable for various applications. The user can select between two pressure accuracy classes. PTU200 can also be equipped with a second pressure transducer for added reliability. THREE DIFFERENT PROBES Three different kinds of probes can be used with the PTU200 Transmitter. Two of the probes are relative humidity and temperature probes and one is a temperature probe. The HMP45A-P relative humidity and temperature probe incorporates the HUMICAP 180 humidity sensor and the Pt1000 temperature sensor. The probe is supplied with a 20-meter connection cable, which can be shortened by the user if desired. The HMP45A-P Probe is attached to the PTU200 with an external connector. When the Pt100 sensor is preferred, the HMP45D humidity and temperature probe is recommended. The Pt100 is directly 4-wire connected to the temperature transducer inside the PTU200 housing. The fixed cable length is 3.5 metres. The PTU200 Transmitter with the HMP45A-P Probe. When humidity measurement is not required, the PTU200 can be supplied with a small, high stability wire-type Pt100 temperature probe. An RS232 serial interface comes as standard with all PTU200 Transmitters. The transmitter software is compatible with major GPS receivers and NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) coded messages. The PTU200 Transmitter is also available with an optional local display and RS485 serial interface. SPECIFIC PRESSURE INFORMATION The PTU200 Transmitter can report both the measured pressure at the barometer level and the pressure reduced to a user selectable level. This makes it easy to differentiate the pressure calibration information from pressure readings related to e.g. GPS applications.
Practical Mounting Kit The PTU200 and the PTU200MIK installed on a GPS antenna site. CERTIFIED QUALITY All PTU200 Transmitters are delivered with a factory calibration certificate. The PTU200 transmitter uses the BAROCAP silicon capacitive absolute pressure sensor developed by Vaisala. This sensor has excellent hysteresis and repeatability characteristics and outstanding temperature and long-term stability. The PTU200TRIPOD equipped with the PTU200 and the PTU200MIK. PTU200 Transmitters with the HMP45D and the Pt100 probes. PTU200MIK OUTDOOR MOUNTING KIT For outdoor use of the PTU200 Transmitter, Vaisala offers a high-quality mounting kit, the PTU200MIK. It allows meteorological measurements to be made on site, e.g. next to a GPS antenna. The PTU200MIK includes a weatherproof box for the central unit of the PTU200 Transmitter. The configuration allows to include either one of the two alternative radiation shields (DTR13 or DTR502) for the humidity and temperature probes and a static pressure head SPH10 to minimize the wind-induced error in barometric pressure measurement. The installation site should be representative of the general atmospheric conditions, and the ground underneath must be suitable for relative humidity and temperature measurement. TRIPOD FOR THE PTU200MIK The PTU200TRIPOD is designed for use with the PTU200MIK outdoor mounting kit. This sturdy tripod ensures portability and quick system set-up. The humidity probes of the PTU200 Transmitter are fitted with the HUMICAP 180 Sensor. The sensor can be used in a wide range of environments. It has high accuracy, negligible hysteresis, and excellent long-term stability even at very high humidity levels. It is also insensitive to dust.
