ERICSSON MX-ONE Communication Organizer 3.0 With today s increasing demands for higher productivity and lower costs, everyone can use a hand. Ericsson Enterprise is here to help with Ericsson MX-ONE Communication Organizer. Your staff will be able to obtain the communication tools they need, while increasing efficiency and lowering operating costs with an integrated IT solution. At the core of the application solution is Communication Organizer. It is composed of two components: Communication Organizer Server and Communication Organizer Applications.

Communication Organizer Server: Flexible configurations from single-phone system installations to advanced distributed systems Enables unique directory configurations for each customer based on Microsoft s Active Directory Activity Management (presence and preference information) Server-based Exchange and Domino Server integration with add-ins Instant messaging Server-based call log Security (directory access, data encryption) Management tools (for operation and maintenance) Interfaces with messaging solutions Interfaces with external systems Mobile Location Server for setting active presence information Interfaces with LDAP directories Communication Organizer Applications: Provides business class telephony functionality Directory search (corporate, personal, external, LDAP) Presence setting and display Preference control (voice, IM, or e-mail) Localized applications Several end-user communication applications: Personal Assistant-PC (VoIP softphone) Personal Assistant-Web (browser-based) Operator Assistant (IP-enabled operator) Exchange/Domino integration An Essential Component of Ericsson MX-ONE Integrating your communication needs with your IT environment lowers your TCO. Communication Organizer Server uses Microsoft s Active Directory, server-based solutions, and IP-enabled solutions (soft client and operator), reducing hardware costs while increasing flexibility and accessibility. And with Communication Organizer Applications, you have the freedom to decide which applications best suit your needs. Regardless of your choice, the users have access to similar functionality and can control their communication needs from any of the applications. Increasing Efficiency With Communication Organizer, staff can: Improve their availability to customers and colleagues. Decide how they communicate (voice, IM, e-mail). Reply to queries efficiently. Keep user information up-to-date. Eliminate the need to memorize contact information. Communication Organizer Server Provides access and information to features offered by the applications. Directories A corporate directory contains information pertinent to subscribers and their extensions. You can customize your database content with user-defined fields. Directories accessible from the applications include: corporate directories, personal contacts and LDAP directories. Business Class Telephony The Communication Organizer Server features an interface for applications in providing business class telephony. Activity Management When an incoming communication request is received, user preferences assist the communication system in finding the appropriate user. Activity, also known as presence status, refers to what the user is doing at the time working, attending a meeting, eating lunch, etc. Preference determines how communications (voice, instant messaging or e-mail) are established for each activity type. The user can set up multiple find-me orders with each order defining the devices to call, the duration of ring signals, whether call screening will be activated, etc. Messages can be sent via IM from Communication Organizer, as text messages to mobile phones or as e- mail. Activity and preference information is displayed on the clients within Communication Organizer. An activity for a user can be set in a number of ways from Personal Assistant-PC, Personal Assistant-Web, Operator Assistant, scheduled in Outlook or Notes, with the team function (monitor feature), and with the Mobile Location Server. Instant Messages Text-based instant messaging is available and features multiple parties (chat), predefined messages and format conversion as needed (PC, SMS, e-mail). Contact Lists Users create lists of people users frequently contact. A contact list shows the current activity and the preferred method of communication for each person on a list.

Server-Based Exchange/Domino Integration Add-ins are used to integrate with Exchange and Domino. One function allows users to associate activities in calendar appointments. And with the Communication Organizer toolbar, users can: Launch Personal Assistant-PC. View online statuses of e-mail senders. Start IM sessions. Reply and forward e-mails via IM. Initiate calls to e-mail senders. Display contact lists. Server-Based Call Log The call log is shared between the Personal Assistant-PC and Personal Assistant-Web applications. The calls can be sorted with a single mouse click. Security Directory Access: For directory update requests, the Communication Organizer Directory API requires the client applications to supply a valid time-based security token. Sensitive data is encrypted. Network Transport: Both SSL and IPSec can be enabled. Interfaces Ericsson Open Application Server: An interface for client applications that relays third-party call control requests and receives extension statuses from the MX-ONE Telephony System. Mobile Location Server: Retrieves mobile device location data from a Mobile Location Server in a mobile operator network to set presence status. VSI: Provides interface for sending and receiving VIM (Message Diversion) requests with MX-ONE Messaging. LDAP: Provides an open interface for searching for and retrieving entries on an LDAP directory server using the standard LDAPv2 or LDAPv3 protocols. CAAPI: Call accounting applications can import directory data on a scheduled basis from a single point-of-entry.
