Location Intelligence Spectrum Spatial Analyst Version 8.0 This document contains information about Pitney Bowes Spectrum Spatial Analyst Release 8.0. Contents: What s new in Spectrum Spatial Analyst? What s new in Mobile Ready User Interface? What s new in Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console? Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader Supported Platforms Supported Devices, Browsers and Operating System Supported Languages Bugs Fixes and Improvements Limitations and Known Issues in this Release Spectrum Spatial Analyst Documentation 2 3 4 5 5 5 6 7 7 10

What s new in Spectrum Spatial Analyst? This release of Spectrum Spatial Analyst has added a wide range of major new features for end users and administrators including phase IV of the new "mobile-ready" user interface, which supports use on mobile, tablet and desktop browsers. Spectrum Spatial Analyst 8.0 has been tested and is supported with Spectrum Platform (with LIM) version 11.1. Version 11.0 of Spectrum Platform is not supported. As a pre-requisite please upgrade to latest version. The Windows installer for Analyst will upgrade from Spectrum Spatial Analyst 7.0 and 7.1 to Spectrum Spatial Analyst 8.0. Any upgrade from previous version of Spectrum Spatial Analyst prior to version 7.0 is not supported. For customers using Spectrum Spatial Analyst 6.0, we recommended upgrading to Spectrum Spatial Analyst 7.0 first and then upgrading to Spectrum Spatial Analyst 8.0. Roles Migration Post Spectrum 11.1 Upgrade As part of the Spectrum 11.1 upgrade, a special role spatial-dataset-editor is assigned to all the users defined in the Spectrum Management Console. This is done for maintaining the backward compatibility of the security privileges of Spectrum users. However, this is not desired for the Spectrum Spatial Analyst users as they get the rights to create, modify and delete the records inadvertently. To remove this role, download and execute the script "Spectrum 11.1 Roles Migration Utility" available under Utilities tab of SSA Admin Console Home page. The detailed steps to execute this utility can be downloaded by clicking on "About Migration Utility". Prior to Spectrum 11.1, the administrator had to check "Modify" permission for a table under Location Intelligence. Named Resources for enabling create, modify and delete operations. Starting from Spectrum 11.1, these permissions have been moved under Location Intelligence.Dataset.DML category. Hence, if there was any role having the permissions to edit data, the administrator will need to provide the permissions to that role by checking the create, modify and delete options available under Location Intelligence.Datset.DML category in Spectrum management console for the given named table 2

What s new in Mobile Ready User Interface? The mobile ready user interface for Spectrum Spatial Analyst has been introduced incrementally, and with this release we are happy to release the final phase. Our interface was designed from the ground up using HTML5 and Open layers 3 and provides a single interface that supports current desktop browsers and also all popular mobile and touch devices including ios, Android and Windows. At this stage, customers can completely transition to the mobile ready interface. Currently, both the original and new interfaces are available in this release, however the original interface is deprecated. The original interface of Spectrum Spatial Analyst will be discontinued from next release of Spectrum Spatial Analyst. You can access Spectrum Spatial Analyst on any device by navigating to the appropriate Spectrum Spatial Analyst URL. For example: http://ssaurl:8010/connect/analyst/mobile As part of the phased and final implementation of existing features into the mobile ready UI the following features are now available: Summarizing Data: This enables the end user to summarize data in a table within or across a single annotation or multiple annotations. This is an enhancement of the previous summarize function allowing comparisons between selected annotations and calculation of proportional values where features overlap. Data Binding Support: This release of SSA has added data binding support to the Mobile ready UI. Data binds can be launched for individual features or for all features returned in map information. Annotation Styling: This allows the end user to style all of the annotations drawn on the map, so that each can be uniquely identified. App-linking Support: Support for integrating SSA s mobile ready UI with desktop applications is provided through Application Link-ins and Link-outs. This enables the launching of external application from SSA and vise-versa. URL Launch API: Added support to enable launching Spectrum Spatial Analyst by a URL launch API. As an enhancement we have also added support to specify values to select from a table and column so that the results are displayed and zoomed to as a query when SSA is launched. For all of the supported parameters please see the on line help. The following are the new features are available for the first time in SSA 8.0- Zoom Levels: The maximum zoom level limit has been increased from 20 to 25. Corresponding support is also added to Spectrum Spatial for configuring Tile Services up to 25 levels. JDK 1.8 Support for Analyst: JDK 1.8 Support for Analyst is now available. On Windows SSA8 will deploy JDK 1.8 if it is not present. For Linux deployments JDK 1.8 should be pre-installed. Full details are in the install guides. Turkish and Italian Locales: We have introduced support for Turkish and Italian locales. 3

Link out from Data Bind results: It is now possible to use application links to link out to external applications from a data bind result. Feature information for grid tables: The grid cell value is now shown in the map information panel for MRR and Grid tables that are added to SSA. Centering the map to a custom X and Y: Users can now enter either a latitude/longitude or an X and Y in the address search text box to center the map to that location. Entering just x: will show an XY search panel to assist the user. Adding tile service maps as business layers: Admins can now choose the Spectrum Spatial Tile Service as a source for business maps. Previously only base maps could be added from the Tile Service. This enables very large or complex business data (e.g. with many millions of records or flood zones with millions of nodes) to be rendered quickly benefiting from server side caching. Support for new editing permissions: Support has been added for the new dataset.dml security entity introduced in the Spectrum 11.1 Platform. This new security entity is where permissions on who can edit data are now held. Please see the topic Location Intelligence Module - Access Control for Datasets in the Spectrum 11.1 release notes for full details. Updated UI: There have been improvements made to the UI with newer buttons from PB s Design System. For more information, refer to Spectrum Spatial Analyst online help. What s new in Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console? The Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console is a web application that allows administrators to manage which maps and data from Spectrum Spatial are available in Spectrum Spatial Analyst. Administrators can control a wide range of options including setting permissions on what data and end user functions are available to users. Map Properties: With Show As functionality, you can specify whether the selected base map will be shown as a Base map or Business map. For more information, refer to Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Guide. 4

Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader The Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader, originally provided with Spectrum Spatial Analyst, is part of the Spectrum Platform Utilities. It can be downloaded from the Spectrum Platform home page directly or by using the links to that page provided in the Analyst Administration Console. The Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader is a tool that is added to MapInfo Professional. It allows administrators to publish a map into Spectrum Spatial. The tool creates all of the Named Resources needed to view the data retaining any thematic maps, style overrides or other layer settings applied in MapInfo Professional. For more information, refer Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader help documentation. Supported Platforms Spectrum Spatial Analyst supports the following platforms: 1. Windows 2008R2 2. Windows 2012R2 3. Ubuntu 14 and 15 4. RHEL 6.5 5. CentOS 7.0 Supported Devices, Browsers and Operating System Spectrum Spatial Analyst has been tested on the following devices, browsers and operating system: Admin Console Here is the list of supported browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1 Safari 9.1.1 on Mac. Google Chrome 52.0 Mobile Ready User Interface 5

Here is the list of supported devices and browsers: Windows Mobile OS version 10 Safari on Apple Devices with ios8 and ios9.3.3 Chrome on Android devices with 4.3, 4.4, 5.0 and 6.0 Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1. Safari 9.1.1 on Mac. Google Chrome 52.0. Spectrum Spatial Analyst- Old Interface Here is the list of supported browsers and Operating System: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and Edge. Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1 Safari 9.1.1 on Mac. Google Chrome 52.0. ipad is no longer supported in old UI. Supported Languages Spectrum Spatial Analyst supports the following languages: cy (Welsh) (not for Admin Console) da (Danish) de (German) en (English- default) en_au (English- Australian) en_gb (English- British) fi (Finnish) fr (French) nl (Dutch) pt (Portuguese es (Spanish) 6

ja (Japanese) tr (Turkish)* New it (Italian)* New To launch either the Spectrum Spatial Analyst Admin Console or Spectrum Spatial Analyst in one of these languages, add a lang parameter to the end of the URL. For example: https://<server>:<port>/connect/analyst/?lang=en_gb Bugs Fixes and Improvements The following issues have been fixed in this release: The MRR and grid legends now show the range values and styles. Previously, only a generic black-white grid icon was shown. All the business layer which has the setting 'Maximum number of seconds to cache a map" as 0 (zero) in the adminconsole, will be rendered on every pan and zoom to reflect any changes on the back-end. SSA used to fail to render Legend on table with 3 geometry types and style override, now it will show it properly. In this release we have fixed the WMS feature info which used to fail when the default style was not present in the WMS layers. Now, the settings related to pannable extents are supported in Mobile interface. If the underlying spatial data contains a percentage sign, the user used to get an error while clicking on the feature, this issue has been fixed in this release. Limitations and Known Issues in this Release The following are the limitations and known issues in this release: Spectrum Spatial Analyst The limitations in Spectrum Spatial Analyst are listed below: 7

For IE11/Edge, only PNG format is supported instead of SVG format in this release. The only limitation of this approach is that style annotation legend will not be shown on IE legend panel for print. It will not impact on main page legend panel. The main page legend panel will work as it is with SVG images. This fix will only impact the print functionality legend panel in IE11/Edge. Spectrum Spatial Analyst 8.0 Installer is not localized in Turkish and Italian in this release, but, application is fully supported in both the locales. From Chrome browser, the zoom level should be set to 100% else you may face some UI issues on the Spectrum Spatial Analyst. The maps installed by default with Spectrum Spatial and available under Samples/NamedMaps/ will not work with Analyst. When using a point annotation for a query we will buffer the point by a value equivalent to 10 pixels in diameter and search for features that intersect the buffered point. This is the same behavior that is used when a user clicks the map to see a call out. Other geometries such as lines are not buffered in this way. Full querying of layers is not a capability of WMS services. Hence, the Analyst query functionality will appear disabled for a map configuration containing only WMS Business data. Call outs will still work however. Maps which had a zoom range applied may not appear in print previews at certain zoom levels especially the lowest and highest zoom range levels. During print preview collation a larger size of image is requested as compared to the tile size present on Analyst. This difference in size sometimes leads to layers falling outside their prescribed zoom range, making them invisible in print preview. If you are upgrading from earlier version of Spectrum Spatial Analyst, the tool bar icons might mismatch. Please contact your sales representative for corrective measures. Known Issues The following are the known issues in this release of Spectrum Spatial Analyst: Bug ID Description CONN-25569 In the new mobile user interface- For Concentric circle and Drive time Polygons, the complete annotation gets highlighted no matters which ring is selected from query in drop-down. CONN 27248 Export current page as CSV not working in case of query CONN 27572 Microsoft Edge- Annotation legend icons are missing in exported pdf for print PDF. CONN-20921 An extra generic legend entry all others is displayed on Spectrum Spatial Analyst. 8

Bug ID Description CONN-21962 Labels do not appear in Map View, however it appears in Query View on a zoom level of 200m. This is because of the zoom difference between feature and label layer. That will happen because business layers are 542 px wide and label layers are usually wider- 1024. They will never match. Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console The limitations in Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console are listed below: Maximum records that can be fetched on Spectrum Spatial Analyst application for a particular data bind is 999. Data Bind doesn't work for the tables having DateTimeOffset, We are not able to create named tables for such type of tables. MSSQL Server does not support IN operator for VarChar and text whereas it is supported for other text formats like Char, varchar etc. Though Analyst supports the creation of WMS Base Maps with geographic projections (which use degrees as units such as epsg:4326), you are advised not to add Mapping Service Business Maps over such Base Maps. This is because the Mapping Service used by Analyst does not render maps in a form that aligns with geographic projections. The misalignment is because the standard parallel is changed as the map is panned away from the equator (this is called moving standard parallel and is a feature of all MapInfo products). The misalignment is more pronounced as you move further north or south from the equator. When adding WMS Maps Analyst will initially default to using WMS version 1.1.1. If the WMS service supports both version 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 then the administrator can enter the version=1.3.0 parameter to their WMS URL to force Analyst to use that version. If you are viewing reports from the Reports menu in Administration Console, make sure to disable any pop-up blockers in your browser as these may prevent the report appearing. The Analyst Admin should not use the Spectrum MWS Uploader or Management Console to upload a map as these do not create Named Layers and they will not work with Analyst. All the maps should be uploaded using Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader only which is available on Home tab of with Analyst Administration Console. While adding a Raster Map as a Business Map to a Map Configuration, you have to ensure that the projection of the Raster map matches that of the Base Maps. The address search logs are not available from the Admin Console reports menu in release 3.0 of Analyst. In order to view usage logs for address searches and also other Analyst features the web access logs can be viewed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\Tomcat7\AnalystConnect\logs\. The access logs are named in this format localhost_access_log.yyyy-mm-dd and the address search log entries start with this URL pattern 9

http://<server>:<port>/connect/analyst/controller/locator/singleline. The log entries also include the address being searched as a URL query parameter.
